I'm from Sheffield, well, have been since we moved from Salisbury in 1993 but currently living and working in Saudi Arabia. These videos are just fantastic and bridge that gap from here to home especially as I won't be back home for a few months, and even then only for a couple of weeks. All these places I know so well - Alport Castles, Kinder Scout, Edale, Glossop, Derwent and Ladybower and Sheffield itself. Every time I feel homesick, which is often, I just watch Patrick for half an hour and job done, spirits lifted and another half an hour closer to home. Wouldn't mind a guided tour of Megatron!!

Hey Pat a good trick is to carry a scalpel blade in your wallet (Wrapped in Foil). Doesn't matter where you are you always have a small extremely sharp blade on you that takes up no space. I use sterile disposable surgical scalpels, e.g. B|Braun Cutfix, they have a nice plastic handle and come with reusable plastic sheath. They are very handy not only in the lab or for surgery but also at home or outdoors. And not too expensive either.

pat as always great to see you enjoying the surroundings whatever the weather !
on the knife front ... my brother brought me many years ago a swiss army knife [multi champ]
i thought i would never use it ... how wrong! ... and when it suffered things not opening /shutting [maybe my fault abit]
i sent it to them ... it was returned to Switzerland ... and was fully reconditioned ! .... amazing ... they have a full life warranty
and is used on a daily basis !
was impressed how compact your tent skin compacted ... im sure very essential for wild camps !
look forward to many more !

Brilliant wild camp vid for me, i learned that i'm not doing wrong in compressing my tent, something that was worrying me.. I will be getting some of that powered milk for sure.. I think the weather is part of the adventure, people say I am mad doing my first wild camp in march and that spring summer better, I want to test myself and my equipment I have spent the last year putting together.. Just home from my night shift, and with a bottle of beer and a cheese sandwich I really had a great half hour watching your wild camp.. Thanks pat..

Hi and nice to hear from you any time is a good time for a first wildcamp, just be aware were you campif things go wrong. I,ve always compressed everything for carrying to get it in my rucksack, the tent spent 3 days on the garage drying out, I put up a line and hooks to hang it on, all packed away dry ready for the next adventure, because that is what they are, each camp is a adventure on its own which you will remember all your life, thanks Pat

You do it so well. I appreciate how you set up the camera than you have to walk away and come back to it. It wall takes a lot of time and of course you have to edit. I love your naration too. Very well done. 60 years ago I cycled from Wellingborough to the Peak district and cyled up the pass, went into some caverns and stayed at Youth Hostels. Best wishes

Hi yes a lot of running back and forth but it gives me the vidio I want, what you don, tree is when I make a mess of it and have to film that bit again and again. Winnatts Pass that you probably cycled up near the caverns is as steep as ever, you did well getting up there, all the best Pat
