Today would’ve been Andy’s 65th birthday! Happy birthday!!! He passed away 5 days after his 30th birthday. March 10 will be 35 years since he passed. RIP Andy!!!
And the silly fool didn't have to go the way he did. He tried to smuggle a rubberized baggy of cocaine in his stomach. But the stomach acid broke it down, not part of the plan. Anyway, he OD'd.

@@tinakeith5822 A heart infection? At that age? I doubt it. I realize that "heart infection" sounds better to the press and fans than what really happened. But he was addicted. And he was not making sound decisions by the time it all came to an end.
@@keithbrown7685He was no longer doing cocaine but had been drinking around that time period. Yes, the coroner reported cause of death was myocarditis....which is an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart. He was also diagnosed a few years prior to this about his heart condition, but never told anyone....including his parents.
This was when the Anti-Disco movement taking over, Disco was associated with the Gay Clubs and Americans wasn't having it, they were burning anything Bee Gees related in the streets. The Bee Gees was considered a "Jive" and "Soul" band, but because their music was used in Saturday Night Fever, the disco tag was stuck onto the Bee Gees. The Bee Gees was forced off the air, to continued doing what they love, they wrote songs for artists like Samantha Sang, and providing background vocals for other artists.
The anti-disco movement didn't begin until late summer of 1979.....long after the movie Saturday Night Fever was released in Dec 1977. This song & SNF Soundtrack were also released late '77 until early '78. And yes, they did begin writing for other artists due to the backlash....beginning with Barbra Streisand's Guilty album in 1980. Also just Barry's providing harmony & backing vocals on this track.🎼

Barry suggested Samantha because her voice blends well with the BeeGees.

This is the only song that I like better by the artist, in this case Samantha Sang, than the Brothers. Usually I always prefer the Bee Gees singing their own songs. Listen to the Brothers singing this one and tell us what you think. Her real name is Cheryl Lau Sang.
