Emil Fitness Sony phones always were for a niche crowd. Their quality and innovation is unparallel on smartphones, which is why i stuck with them for so long and didn't follow Samsung or Apple.
Exactly. I'm a kind of Nerd about mobile phones. I check what material is used, how they assemble it and so many things. People don't realize how much superior are sony. We are talking about the company who invented playstation after all :)
I did have an xperia z3 compact for 18 months. It dropped i think 100 times even from a balcony. Never broke or have problems of any kind. They are amazing. Now i Just bought the XZS. I gave up on the premium as is a bit too big in my opinion :)
well I have z2 and it sucks.
Marouan Mar I also had Z2. It was very good back then. In the middle of android M though, the processor started to show its weakness. It's processor was designed for Android L, and it run perfectly there.

For once I didnt hear they complain that much about the bezels. Because they are there for practical reasons.
The bezels are there for:
1. To keep the camera away from the processor
2. The stereospeakers
3. To help the phone chill-down wich is really does.
4. Easier to use the phone without having your fingers in the way, when watching content. YOu can easy hold it on those bezels and have a screeen completaly free from your fingers.

Blu CrackerZ Actually one of the earliest companies that started to care for bezels is LG with the Lg G2, plus tech is getting better each year so it is good to have the biggest screen possible with the smallest form factor to use it one handedly.
It also varies from one to another for some with big hands bezels were never an issue and for some they were.
Jerry Berglund xperia makes the best feeling phones by far. The only thing stopping me is the fingerprint sensor
And that frames are built in a premium material, nothing to hide.
I've got this phone in the UK and I love it. I'm going back to Sony from an iPhone and I don't regret it.
FINALLY. Sony has made the phone of my dreams with zero drawbacks. I've wanted a phone from them for years but each one before this had one glaring issue that kept me from buying. Whether it was poor battery life, weak front speakers, no Type-C, this new phone lacks none of that. They've finally hit the sweet spot and I'll finally feel confident investing in an Xperia. I'll gladly pay the premium for the international version for a phone like this.

Anas Adani I think not. The Galaxy S8 has f/1.7 aperture , and the Xperia XZ Premium has f/2.0. So the bigger the aperture , the better the quality of the photos

why do people hate bezels???.. for me, it's useful.. especially when I'm watching on full screen.. it's also there for the stereo speakers.. if they reduced the bezels, the sound coming from the speakers could be muffled cause it's crammed inside a thin bezel..

Soft skin effect can be turned off...maybe when they finally launch it, the camera will perform well. Because I tested selfie with old XZ in a retail store and it came out to be clear and crisp. So XZ Premium should not perform bad
The colours are unrealistic?

Sametimes, more options makes the device harder to use. That's why people prefer IOS over Android, because it's simple to use.
Usman Tariq I never said I know the right settings. I said that you can adjust the settings to what feels the right to you. And if you can't adjust even the simplest parameters why bother taking a flagship android device. Stick with low budget or IOS phones.

later in the year I might go for the XZ premium since I recently bought the S8 plus. The best thing about the Samsung is AMOLED infinity display and user interface is decent with great performance the downside is the 12mp camera isn't that great as I thought it would be. Anyways I've been an Xperia user for a long time so I will go back eventually.
Im sorry but imo the review was really boring, and it just doesnt make justice to the phone at all.. plus, saying that one must consider this phone if not ready to leave 16/9 aspect ration ( impling that if you are you have better options) is so bias towards lets say samsung or lg that makes me sad..
Norberto Castro Samsung is the trend now. So if you want to stay "in" things you follow Samsung (or Apple). Which is why I stick with Sony and frankly I'm still happy with it.

i dont totally complain the bezels, but Sony needs to cut some bezels. There is no doubt the specs, system & UI are awesome & great.

s8 is an allrounder , it misses; not misses actually just a step lower in some functions but also hits some sweet spots. and provide all bells and whistles which justifies its price.!
Is there a dedicated camera button like the other Xperia phones? That and micro SD card support is the real reason why I go to Sony over LG and Samsung.

I like Sony durability. But the problem is with Sony camera. I had z1 and it's camera is a disaster when you take photos at night time. Daylight it's OK. so I still have a doubt about the camera.
Don't use Auto Mode. PERIOD. Manual Mode on Sony Cameras are the best in the competition, and has been for several years.
Can we change the screen resolution 4k-2k or full hd ?

Take my money! I just wish they could get to US carriers. But there's always another way. (Buy on some website then use T-mobile). If there is a US model such as through Best Buy, the 4G might be better. Flash the firmware to international version for the fingerprint scanner. Still I would rather not jump through these hoops.

Gianluccas Palhuca 4K display is only accessible when you're watching 4K content. Let's say, you make a 4K video, this phone will let you watch that video in 4K on the same device. You can also watch RUclips videos in 4K, and some Amazon Prime & Netflix content. Most importantly, that 4K screen will give you one of the best VR experience (as mentioned in this video). While the screen is technically 3840 x 2160 resolution, the vast majority of the time you’ll be looking at an upscaled 1080p version of the Android operating system. This is necessary to save the battery life. Rendering 4K resolution every waking minute would absolutely decimate battery life.

michigan1777 people keep using this excuse. the Axon 7 has smaller bezels and has way better front facing speakers. this is a poor design. and it's a shame as it's technically one of the best phones on the market. I'm going with the U11 but the XZP is a close second.

You didn't mention that the screen is only 1080p for 99% of usage. Only when you play native 4K content through specific apps can you get the full resolution. This is a gimmicky feature and misleading by Sony.

What good is 4k without native content. Sure you can upscale but I don't think that it's worth the battery drain.
Not Anymore battery life on the XZs and XZP are quite average. Even the Galaxy S8 and S8+ outlast them with a much bigger display and higher resolution
You are wrong, the screen is in full 4K when you are playing any video no matter the resolution, the Xperia XZP use two kind of upscaling:
- The first is Pixel Complement: is used in videos (no matter if is third party video player and no the resolution, it will work even if the video is in 360p or 2K) and Album app.
- Double upscaling: Is a fast upscaling, used in Web Browsing and Games
Also considering that Android Nougat supports 4K native, if the application requires it, it can be displayed in native 4K resolution

It has always been one of the best in the manufacture of camera sensors (not only for mobiles)
but only in manufacturing them,
however it had never been as good as it is now in the camera's department, Sony became the 3rd main producer of cameras just this year, leaving Nikon behind
Lol, I take the comment from this video, and pretty much all XZ pre reviews I have seen on YT so far. Yes, it's great in good light (should be standard across all 2017 flagships), but not really in low light (at 4:19), so overall, not great, right?
