As long you cant control the phone just with your voice, the bezels is needed. There are reason for why they are there.
1. To keep the camera parts aways form the Processor, wich means that the camera wont shut down because of heating issues.
2. The keep the heating down to a minum, wich seems to work, this time around
3. Practical. YOu can hold your phone without getting your fingers onto the screen when you look onto movies and clips.
Yes i know people says, you can hold it on the edges. I just say, yes thats possible, but is it comfertable? No, its not. When I am trying to hold my phone that way, just to see, my hand gets much more tired, than if I hold it in a grip. So no, the bezels is there because they are practical.
And do agree that this is one of the best phone this year 2017, maybe the best. The year aint over yet.

Believe it or not this is the best android phone since was announced in MWC and i almost forget: the best camera ever yet, does it.
Just got mine delivered by Three UK, think its refurbished or reboxed as it came with the wrong charger, does not have any rear film. It also had 2x silver ( void ) tabs sealing the battered box. Three have offered to send me a new charger and cable in 3 to 4 days time ! New phone day ruined !!!

4k resolution is continuous only for pictures and videos????
M A no, the screen is always 4k, its just that the UI and some apps is rendered in 1080p. Its like playing a 720p video on a 1080p monitor
The resolution is set to 1080p most of the time and only changes to 4k when viewing native 4k content.
Dejan Pongrac 1080p ,for 4K is for Album app, and any video player no matter is the video is 360p or 2K, the X-Reality will upscale it to 4K

It only using 4k resolution on video and pics, on the interface it using full hd resolution. Sony say to save battery.

Camera on this phone is ok outdoors, but indoors, it just doesn't hold up to my OnePlus 3 for fine detail with flash on or off. The flash is quite weak on this phone. Contrast and colours are great, but that's it.
When you zoom on a picture you've just taken indoors, you can seriously see the lack of sharpness.
Sorry Sony fans, this is not a great and powerful camera. Pictures look great outdoors, but zoom in and it gets blurry. Don't want to say this, but the Samsung S8 has better clarity and sharpness.
Sony had better contrast and dynamic ratio from what I've seen from using both phones.
This phone is on par with the HTC U 11 and Samsung but beats the iPhone 7 plus.
Final thoughts, this camera isn't the best this year, oh dear Sony and this is my first Sony phone.

in the United States and I bought the international version for the fingerprint scanner. my box was sealed but didn't have the sticker on the front of the screen for some reason 🤤 it had the one on the back though; strange

xz premium uses 4k only on supported videos that are not very common right now. Rather than that, it uses 1080x1920 pixels

as i had been to service center in Bangalore 2 times till now..
1st time they changed the entire screen with new one.. but still the same issue repeated after 5days.. and second time they asked me to wait for 7-10days.. as they dont have screen stock with them.
