As someone who works at a Walmart and sells a lot of prepaid phones, the A03, A13, and now the A14 are easily some of the most popular phones. The A03 can be bought for about $50, which makes it easily the best phone you can buy at that price point in the store. (Quick note, the iPhone SE 2 is also a big seller, cause you can get it for $150 on 2 different prepaid carriers, so that's pretty cheap for an iPhone).

One of the best things I did was stop buying flagship phones. For the first time ever, I bought a midrange phone, the Samsung A52S. It does everything I need and more, battery lasts longer than most flagships and I bought the phone outright rather than having a monthly bill

    • @Wiggibow
      @Wiggibow 11 месяцев назад +78

This exactly, I had big plans to invest in a flagship iPhone for the first time in my life, but life happened and suddenly I could no longer afford to. Went with the Galaxy A13 (was only $60 through Boost Mobile at the time) and realized I genuinely have no legitimate reason to spend well over 10x that price for a fancy S series phone. The A13 does everything I need it to do and more, and battery life is spectacular. I eventually had to upgrade to the A14 because my A13 fell into some pickle juice at work and shorted out, it's basically the exact same phone with a better screen, I don't think they updated anything else besides the software.
The only downside I've found thus far to these budget phones from a fairly light user like myself (mostly just use a phone for texting, calls, music, youtube, and basic internet browsing) is the cameras; they're pretty crap. Decent enough shots if you have good lighting; i.e. a nice sunny day outdoors, but the camera on the A13 and A14 might as well not even exist at nighttime or in a dimly lit room. I've never been a big picture taker unless I'm on vacation, so I can deal with it, but that is literally the only thing that could push me to spend so much more on a higher end phone.

The camera ended up being glitchy with all those features baked into it, and inaccurate because it made my face lighter. Was too big for my hands as well, so I now have an iPhone. I have used flagship Samsung phones since the s8. Two weeks ago I bought a Samsung A04e and retired my s22 that was heavily used in my work as a courier(broke screen). The A04e is a low end model that I expected to be slow and buggy. I have used it now for the past couple of weeks and it has done everything my s22 did, although a bit slower. It connects to my galaxy watch and seems no different in that regard. It handles my courier routing software and mobile hotspot for my Android Auto head unit just as well as the s22 did. I don't know if it will hold up as long as the s22, but I am very pleased considering I spent less than $200 and I can still get the functionality I was getting from a phone that cost me over $1000. No contract either so less monthly cost.

For many years I have been working abroad, which means I have a local SIM card and a Native country SIM card. So I started to use dual sim phones. Then I found that using sim cards from different countries in one device affects many online activities, and I ditched away my local sim card and bought an iPhone. However, I decided to keep another local sim card as a backup, so I have three sim cards. I keep the native sim and the backup sim in one phone- I used to have a Samsung device (previously Asus, Huewei, Oppo, etc). I previously had the J7, the J5, and more recently the A53. Apart from the camera, everything is the same and I never felt the need to choose the S series. in North Germany, I like Samsung's devices than iPhone (google map, network signal capture, Bluetooth connectivity etc.) for some basic needs.

I've used an A50 until recently (2019~2023), and only upgraded to an M34 because I dropped the A50, and a proper AMOLED screen replacement was way too expensive, and the phone also wasn't charging properly after it was dropped (it would only occasionally charge through an USB port on my computer, and even then very slowly), so fully repairing it would ended up costing nearly as much as the M34, which was on sale at the time; upgrading to 5G and 4K was a nice bonus, though I have a dedicated camera so I don't care all that much about phone cameras besides using them as secondary units on multi camera setups.

I picked up a 32GB Samsung A13 on sale & 3 months of Mint Mobile for well under $100.
One drawback is that for my phone, it has a 64bit processor, but 32bit operating system.
Apparently putting in a 64bit version of android requires a custom firmware flash and
some risk of bricking the phone.

2:29 I got the same page when I booted up my A13 5G for the first time. At least there's no ads. While you don't see the sponsored apps page on very many other phones, you only get it once, and most other phones have ads that affect day-to-day experience.
11:19 It probably costs more to make the A14's case because it's larger than the S23 so you need more material.

I work at Cricket Wireless, a cell service in the US. We specialize in low/mid-range devices, and the A14 5g has been one of our best selling phones since it released. It's a really solid device.

I literally bought a Galaxy A14 5G last week. I did this for one reason, and that's the absolutely massive battery life. I'm a very tech-oriented person, but the one feature that matters to me over any other is the battery. It's why I use an Amazfit watch instead of a Samsung watch. The battery matters, and the lower processing power of devices such as these results in less battery anxiety over the day. I can still get the same basic things done such as messaging and web browsing, but I can do it for longer.

Same😂. Had a A21s and an Amazfit GTS2 mini, then upgraded to the S20FE and the Galaxy Watch 4. The A21s lasted 1.5 days easily, the S20 FE and my current S22 last just a day. The Amazfit Watch lasted 1 week upwards, my Galaxy Watch never lasted more than 2 days.

alright here is the comment related to the video: My dad has an A22 its really similar to the phone you are showing in this video but its slightly older I think. it has a slightly different back camera but almost the complete same phone even the packaging is the same. my family is pretty poor and we cant afford that much tech and the budget phones make things a tad bit easier on us

Tbh pretty much every phone in the Galaxy-A series is absolute bang for the buck considering how good Samsung's software support is compared to other brands. Even for the higher-end A54, you're basically getting a somewhat trimmed down S23 for literally less than half the price. Watch Flossy Carter's review to see just how close the A54 is to the flagship S23.

Let’s compare it to s21fe. It loses on the spot.
S21fe is an ‘s’ tier phone. It gets more features and is still less expensive than a54

@@sauravchhabra840 That depends on where you live. Where I live the the s21fe costs about 150£ more and will recieve shorter software support. But yes, the s21FE can certaintly be worth it.
