I lost it on the taco tidy tail, I did the exact same thing, put long screws in rear and bubbled my fender 😂 little heat and a roller got them flat again. Very nice exhaust! I’m looking at the exact same one. Much of a power gain? And how’s the noise compared to stock?
It's quite a bit louder. But not obnoxious! As far as power I did a few other things at the same time and it definitely opened it up a lot. Definitely recommend 👌
@@kjohnson00hd I guess that would make sense in your case, I'm from California so the coldest it ever gets is mid 50s, I'm sure it gets way colder where you're at.
Hey I just recently purchased the 2023 model of this bike. I've been reading forms and seeing other people talk about the exhaust and how you need to upgrade the ECU in order to run the exhaust. 1. How has your bike been running with the exhaust? 2. Did you ever upgrade the ECU? 3. Thanks for the suggestion on the tidy tail! I just ordered one!
I love the tidy tail. My bike runs so good with the smog delete and the exhaust. I have not tuned it. But I haven't pulled the plug to see what it looked like. Seems like it runs great so why mess with it?🤷
@@kjohnson00hd What does the smog delete do? and do you think I need to do that in order to run the exhaust? or No? and I can't agree more, like they always say if it ain't broke don't fix it!
If you’re going to put an exhaust on it, do the ECU programmed for that exhaust. An ECU will have that bike running the way it’s meant to be run. With a more open exhaust but the stock ECU, you’re running the bike lean
@@kjohnson00hd I would highly recommend getting a new ECU or a Piggy back tuner. I have a JD jetting piggyback tuner and an exhaust cap from Tacomoto and the bike runs like a race bike, I highly recommend tuning it.
Would love to ask you a couple questions about your TJ LS swap. I’m about to start a similar project and came across this channel. Figured you’d have a better chance of seeing my comment if I left it on your most recent video. 🙂
@@kjohnson00hd I’ll just comment here. Was wondering about your driveline. I’m planning to use my 3550 as well and was curious of you had to change out your driveshafts? I’m hoping you got lucky and the LS mated up to the tranny basically where the 4.0 did with adapters. Did you use a Holley ECM or interface the two together? Any other major hiccups I should be aware of. Thanks!
I have a 21 with the same muffler but I had an ecu installed and it runs perfect. Your bike looks and sounds great!
Thanks
What ecu?..
The kid knows what's up 🤘
Hahaha
Looks so sick with that blue pipe! 22' is my favorite color ktm scheme
Mine too
it fits? ive looked all over and it says the 4.1 wont fit with my 22 ktm 500 excf six days.
I have the 2023 ktm 500 exc-f and it says the same that it won't fit?
I need one 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I got the same bike and exhaust with the vortex ecu. Videos don’t do the sound justice.
Agreed
Sound good
Lol mate I done the exact same thing with the screws! To excited 🤣
Yeah. Wish I would have slowed down and payed more attention to the screws to see if one was longer or not but oh well 🤷
Just got a new leftover from the dealer and couldn’t figure out what that was on the fender… Hence why I work on my own stuff😂
I agree it sounds so much better haha
Lol
I did the same thing with the screws 🤦♂I put a sticker over it.
How in gods name did you manage to get it on there? I have a 2023 and it’s too big for my bike.
Fit snug as a bug on mine
What skid plate are you running? Is it a metal or plastic?
Its plastic
Glad I have the XC-W.. No need to swap any of that out, comes fully uncorked And its plated.
You had to make it plated tho right?
@@kjohnson00hd Yep. Mine is a few years older though. Was easy, as long as the MCO does not say "off road use only" you can plate it.
Does it run lean now without fuel management?
I have not pulled the plug to see for sure. But seems to run better than it did in stock form.

What tires are you running
Metzeler mc360 mid soft
Is it annoying loud on long highway rides? Considering this or the Q4
Idk, I don't take mine on the highway.
with the stock muffler you just need to turn up your idle and it won't stall, when its cold and you give it throttle.
I haven't had a issue with that. I didn't mess with the idle screw. Only thing I do is click in the cold start/high idle/choke knob on colder days.

@@drpork1360 oh yeah. Lol coldest I've rode in was 19° with a light dusting of snow. Ground wasn't frozen yet so it was a riot.
Hi, where did you buy the exhaust? I’m looking for exactly the same fmf exhaust but I can’t find it anywhere

Take off the spark arrestor. I think is still on. Nice bike..
