Just an FYI, You don’t need to remove the seat or any of the plastics to install a slip on exhaust on these bikes. It’s only the two bolts retaining the muffler and the spring.
Yea I forgot to mention in the video that the only torx head I had was in a 3/8 drive and the head of it was too big to fit through the hole in the side plastic. And I was too lazy/anxious to go to the store and get it in a 1/4 inch drive lol
I was looking at that pipe but decided to go with the graves. The graves pipe has an insert you can remove to get either low end torque or high end power. Cool vid.
The graves is really nice! I was having a hard time deciding between the two as well!! The fmf has the insert too, but it’s way too obnoxious with it out lol backfires like crazy, just sounds raspy. I’d love to get a tune and see how it runs with the pipe!
Did you end up installing a new ECU or plug in tuners to help with the new exhaust? I recently picked up a 21 500 XCF-W and am looking at exhausts, but I still need to find time to take it out for its maiden voyage.
It will definitely need a tuner , I have a 2021 husky 350fe with same pipe and the pc5 tuner also desmogged . Was way too lean with out the tuner . Bike is night and day now from stock . Be warned if you buy a power commander 5 and they say it’s tuned for your bike it’s not , every bike is a little different you’ll have to fine tune it for sure . Oh and this dude definitely wears socks with sandals 🤣
did you remove the reed valve from airbox too? just got a 2022 500 excf and ordered this exhaust. wondering if the exhaust helped with power at all or just cosmetics
I did not remove the reed valve. Ehhh tbh I don’t think I noticed any difference with power. If I got the full pipe I’m sure I’d notice a difference, or if I got a tune for it having the slip on. You will love it, sounds great
What is the exact model or link to the one you have as the FMF website indicates that the Factory 4.1 RCT is not compatible with any EXC bike? I have a 2022 EXC-f 500 and looking to get better sound out of it. Also, did you need to remap the ECU? Normally a slip-on is a plug-and-play.
I haven’t re mapped the ecu yet. I would definitely like to though in the near future. Not that it needs it with the slip on. But I’m sure it would help with responsiveness and run better

Hmmmm I have a 2021 exc-f and I phoned fmf in California and they tell me there is no pipe available for this bike. Stock pipe has an o2 sensor by the oil fill plug. I noticed your does not. I’m from bc canada
They have a pipe for it 100%. My o2 sensor is on my header portion near where you are saying. Maybe it was hard to see in the video. The fmf headers do not come with the o2 sensor hole. You have to get the sensor delete kit from somewhere like tacomoto

It’s not like the usual fmf’s with the little Allen head screw. It’s actually like a retainer ring. Kinda weird. But yea I shouldof put on the video. It’s ungodly loud. Backfires like crazy. Super raspy imo lol

Grow a set mate!!. Why would you spend all that money and keep the baffles in? Buy the looks of the tyres anyone can access you are useless on the dirt. If you are worried about noise maybe a DR 400 would be more appropriate for your capabilities.
