not many videos of this bike on youtube, couldnt find any install videos or good sound clips of before and after. so figured id make one. hope you enjoy!!

What is the exact model or link to the one you have as the FMF website indicates that the Factory 4.1 RCT is not compatible with any EXC bike? I have a 2022 EXC-f 500 and looking to get better sound out of it. Also, did you need to remap the ECU? Normally a slip-on is a plug-and-play.

I haven’t re mapped the ecu yet. I would definitely like to though in the near future. Not that it needs it with the slip on. But I’m sure it would help with responsiveness and run better

Hmmmm I have a 2021 exc-f and I phoned fmf in California and they tell me there is no pipe available for this bike. Stock pipe has an o2 sensor by the oil fill plug. I noticed your does not. I’m from bc canada
They have a pipe for it 100%. My o2 sensor is on my header portion near where you are saying. Maybe it was hard to see in the video. The fmf headers do not come with the o2 sensor hole. You have to get the sensor delete kit from somewhere like tacomoto

It was hard for me to find too. But I got mine from cyclebuy.com came in the mail in only a few days
Is your bike stock?
Only thing I’ve done is put handle bars on and the fmf slip on! I got the fmf header coming in the mail anyday now! Super excited!
Did you change your ecu, or get a piggy back tuner?
@@adventureswithkatem I have not! But I definitely plan to in the near future when I install the header to match the slip on
@@adventureswithkatem I would like to get the smog delete kit or whatever too. And get rid of all that unnecessary emissions crap
@@lifebehindbars7359 I would consider a piggyback tuner of a ecu as the bikes really lean stock, and a pime makes it worse. Check out taco moto co. He has everything!

I was looking at that pipe but decided to go with the graves. The graves pipe has an insert you can remove to get either low end torque or high end power. Cool vid.
The graves is really nice! I was having a hard time deciding between the two as well!! The fmf has the insert too, but it’s way too obnoxious with it out lol backfires like crazy, just sounds raspy. I’d love to get a tune and see how it runs with the pipe!

Is that the xcf exhaust? I keep searching for a exc-f exhaust with no luck.
I’m also have the same bike as you. I can’t find one either. Phoned fmf direct and they said they don’t make one for this bike. Exc-f 2021. Did you ever find another brand? Thanks

Me personally every 800-1000 miles. It also depends if I’m doing more road riding or dirt riding.

did you remove the reed valve from airbox too? just got a 2022 500 excf and ordered this exhaust. wondering if the exhaust helped with power at all or just cosmetics
I did not remove the reed valve. Ehhh tbh I don’t think I noticed any difference with power. If I got the full pipe I’m sure I’d notice a difference, or if I got a tune for it having the slip on. You will love it, sounds great
@@lifebehindbars7359 Big difference when you pull the reeds, vortex ecu and this FMF slipon. I've done it to my 21 FE350 and 22 FE501

Just an FYI, You don’t need to remove the seat or any of the plastics to install a slip on exhaust on these bikes. It’s only the two bolts retaining the muffler and the spring.
Yea I forgot to mention in the video that the only torx head I had was in a 3/8 drive and the head of it was too big to fit through the hole in the side plastic. And I was too lazy/anxious to go to the store and get it in a 1/4 inch drive lol
Grow a set mate!!. Why would you spend all that money and keep the baffles in? Buy the looks of the tyres anyone can access you are useless on the dirt. If you are worried about noise maybe a DR 400 would be more appropriate for your capabilities.

@@chuckmcscmuck7711 ohh noo, that’s my baby lol my dad bought it brand new in 02 and rode it maybe 10 times. And gave it to me a couple years ago. I just changed the stock tires on it from 02 not too long ago lol

Me too! Conditions were surprisingly good! Besides being insanely hot lol damn you probably know the trails like the back of your hand!! 🤘🏻
@@lifebehindbars7359 I stopped riding there in 1983 and restarted to ride again in 019, so its alot different now. The main road was all dirt and went left to the camp grounds after the main gate and no speed limits, we used it for a high speed race track. The pit was the "bowl" as it had real high sides, now all washed down. I never rode in the mines.

You should’ve shown it running without the db killer too. It’s only one screw to remove it.
It’s not like the usual fmf’s with the little Allen head screw. It’s actually like a retainer ring. Kinda weird. But yea I shouldof put on the video. It’s ungodly loud. Backfires like crazy. Super raspy imo lol

That’s the exact same one I just ordered. I believe it’s Bc it was the 2018 fmf 4-1 rct titanium. I figured they would all be the same fit within the past few years. Where did you get yours?

I think people also replace those copper crush rings every time, well I mean idk about this particular bike but we usually do.
I’ve always replaced them everytime on my other bikes, this one seems a lot more “durable” I guess you could say lol I just ordered a couple of them the other day so I could have some spares for the next oil change!

Yea agreed. Unfortunately I didn’t have a big enough torx bit in a 1/4 inch to fit through the holes in the plastics so I had to use a 3/8 drive. And of course it wouldn’t fit lol I forgot to mention that in the video
