I can promise you it doesn't get better than the 500, at least for the overall unicorn to go wherever you want to go. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought a second one. Enjoy, you have years of fun ahead of you. Don't stress about super short maintenance intervals (unless racing) and reliability warnings on the web, those people clearly never owned one, and are probably jealous, these bikes are super reliable.

Yeah me n buddy do more riding than 99% of people out there but all back country and trails and prob change oil once a week lol. The 2-3 hour oil change is wild and must be for racing only.

I bought a 23' brand new about six months ago....it was an uncomfortable slow turd stock. Many Thousands of dollars later, de-smog, tuning, suspension... Taco Moto everything. It's awesome now.

Was it worth all the stuff you ended up putting on it?

Thousands? A bullet end cap and a tuner cost $660 bucks

@@Mike.A.Hernandez , It was very transformative to the bike. I think it was worth the money....unless you ask cantankerous old Ray up there.

It doesn't get much better for an all-around bike than the 500/501. I used to be a multi-bike guy but I've whittled it down to a 500 for all BDR and dual sport needs. Regardless of whether or not I add back in a true ADV bike in the future, the 500 will always have a place in my stable. Be careful, these bikes have a way of amassing thousands in mods and accessories lol.

Every bike is a compromise so you chose the one that suits you best. I went with the T7 and I'm glad I did, but I still keep my eyes open :) You should post more videos bruh

Could try a WR or YZ450FX. Completely customizable maps from your phone and awesome suspension

Nice Mike! I love my GSA for most of my adventures, but the 500/501 platforms are very enticing for some light weight day trips and and short weekend trip 🤔

Don’t worry about what Pol Tarres or anyone else says. Work out how it best suits your riding style and terrain and make relevant changes. It can do moderate highway riding if you raise the gearing, fix the seat and cushion the grips and put on a small screen. Forget about all the ill informed comments re daily servicing, you can easily run 2500km. No doubt the most reliable powerful lightweight single of the last 25 years. Owners are doing 50,000 km + with routine servicing on a bike that is 80 kg lighter than any porky twin.

I’m going to go with a Seat Concept’s low seat. I’ve used them on my 300L and can’t say enough good things about out it. Check them out.
