    It's not 'slagging off', it's content. If you have a job that is mundane, without faults, that's not going to make watchable content. Jobs like this are more complicated, more intriguing and actually showcases your skills better than a simple install.
    If there is obviously bad work, simply pointing a camera at it would be viewed as 'slagging off' by those commenters.

    Nick, please continue to call other trades out for their bad work 👍. Its infuriating that they do work they shouldn't be and then denie it. As for the pendant you had to correct, I would have 100% charged the customer and explained they would need to claim their money back from the plasterer. If the plasterer gets away with it, then he/she wil just continue to do it. We are living in a society where there is no accountability and that has to stop!

    I have interview footage of the electrical engineer who designed and subcontracted that installation and the CU. they’re renowned around the uk for sub par systems and maintenance.

    The builders work as mentioned here is probably the same as his electrical! I'm always amazed when we come to employ someone and there lack of knowledge and ability to complete work and even with people with the qualifications. Word of mouth and actually seeing them doing the work is what's needed or like Nick and Adam putting themselves on camera, well done boys.

    I’ve used green cable for a while. They are brilliant. The price is usually very competitive with the local yard. Minus the hours and hassle of driving to the tip.

    Ref QR code for AFDD light decode..... Crabtree AFDD gives you a sticker to put on the lid with all the same info..... low tech and instant 👍. Well done Adam!

    Being in the states if a consumer unit is going to be surrounded by timber like this example I have suggested to use cement board all around it sides back and top to act as a fire stop

    "Solar" could be used as a grouping term for "PV" (Photovoltaic) or "STE" (Solar Thermal Energy)
    Though, of course, as an electrician, Solar would generally ONLY refer to PV, but, not to everyone else..

      You'd be surprised by the amount of builders who've ask me to sign off electrics and gas.
      I'm sure some of the half arsed gas engineers and electricians out there are probably willing to do it too.
      The cheeky sods, it's not worth the bother.

    Someone's been messing with those electrics when they should'nt be at leat the customer had the sense to boot them off site.when I re did my board used the bronther label printer with heat shrink tube to identify the circuits obviously not practical all the time but if time or the apprentice is free why not,makes is easier for the next guy if work needs doing.
    Board was labeled on the front as well.

    Why is the new way back entry with 2 big holes in the board and a board spaced off the wall... Over sized holes in dbs was the reason we moved back to metal. Just seems looks over better practice

    Hi Nick, I don't blame you, some people don't seem to have any pride in there work. It isn't about criticism of other trades, if people did the job right in the first place there wouldn't be any problems or even owned up for that matter. Unfortunately it's the world we live in these days which isn't right. We all make mistakes it's the way we all learn 👍

    Your not slagging trades off though if your highlighting the fact that they made something that was safe dangerous- if they can't take their feels getting hurt tell them to have sympathy for the families house they could of potentially set on fire. Slag away, slag away... people need to be aware when they do something wrong and take ownership. Banter or not these are genuine serious issues.

    Trades onsite these days only look after themselves which is a shame.
    Also I come across few trades that are any good so I tend to try and get the customer to keep to my book.
    Still can't find a decent roofer 😢

    Just a small moan . I would never drill a 20mm hole in centre of a knockout for a SWA gland , if the knockout was to pop out you would lose your earth continuity to the armouring .

      Our customers tell us they receive the same rates for their cable as they do at their local scrapyard - sometimes better. Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it 😂
