    Switches are are 1200 to top of box not centre and sockets 450 to bottom of box

    • @jonathanrose456
      @jonathanrose456 5 месяцев назад

      450-1200 is the heights between which the bottom of a plug top & top of the switch will sit on the finished faceplate. The box height is important as it facilitates those heights. Switchgear including consumer units should be placed between these heights & 350mm away from corners. Exclusions apply in industrial & commercial applications where other safety concerns take precedence. The customer can also request for switchgear to be placed outside of said zones but, get a written request. Exclusions can also apply where local isolation is required for maintenance.

    Lights on the outside is f'ing mental. Do what the customer wants, but makes no sense at all, even with smart switches.

    I joined the dead dad club a week before christmas, it's still incredibly raw and we havent even buried the man yet. But, I hope one day to be as candid about it as you are, it's an inspiration that you are able to joke about it now, it makes me crave to be that guy, and gives me a ray of hope that it will get better. In some weird way it's actually helping me to tell people that I'm in that "club" as humour tends to be my go-to for dealing with things like bad news, illnesses and bereavement anyway (hard to at the moment though). Bravo.

    20/10 for Adams safety squint, when firing the cable stapler. Literally twice whatever the highest score could ever be!

    If you divide the remaining gap between wall and centre light by number of lights in the row that will give you your gaps for light spreads.

    @NBundyElectrical and @Alexander_sparky : I’m confused with this one so paused the video to check. I’m a 46 year old doing my 2365 and am confused as it’s not just you I’ve heard say grey as common on videos. However in the On-site guide pg. 95 and the IET Students guide pg. 174 it shows the black as common. Someone please let me know as were not back to college until January.

      You can do it 💪 I'm 31 only qualified. Watch all these videos and learn about testing and fault finding even watch videos on them and pay attention to concept of electricity don't just focus on first fix and second fix work. Fault finding and testing keep your mind focused on the concept of electricity and how it flows and its resistance

    1200mm for a light switch is the maximum height to the top of the switch, not the centre of it so just put it a dry-lining box in just below the noggin.

    Hi Adam , i got a question to ask pretty simple so i work as an apprentice for a guy etc i been working for him for about 2 months and a half but I'm getting paid pretty bad for all the stuff i do in my opinion he's paying me 5£ an hour and i work for 10 hours a day total 50£ only two days a week so i was thinking of asking someone who knows more than i do should i ask him to increase my salary from 50£ a day to 65£ ? And also im 17 just to let you know 😅

      No harm in asking lad. Maybe ask "how do you think my progression is going" and "what opportunities do I have to sort of pay rises can I expect ". If it falls on deaf ears then get outa there 😂
