Confirmation of mini digger and dumper came today, meaning we are good to go Monday....................
possibly Saturday😬
The pod is still stuck in limbo, but is out of the way enough not to be an issue, as long as my dumper driving skills are on point.
I've a little bit of prep work to do before they arrive, but it's getting exciting!
I'm under no illusion of how much hard work this is going to be, and have absolutely no idea on a time scale!
But the customer isn't bothered, so we are all good😉

Liam, I am registered blind/visually impaired and with your encouragement and your videos I managed to build my own garden room with Woodburner. Fledge, flatscreen TV coach the whole lot all in my own the only problem was that I just about moved into and split up with my ex LOL so now she has my garden room LOL you are a star Liam and I’m really looking forward to your new boat of the annex.👍👍
J a couple of spelling mistakes in my previous post, prior to losing my sight I was a structural engineer 12 years ago.

Do you think having side access helped obtain permission for the annex?
it wasn't mentioned mate, part of the planning says it cannot be used as a separate dwelling, cannot be sold or rented separately to main dwelling.

Just built my own sunroom all by myself minus the electrics , was a great achievement to finish but wish I had documented it all with videos but only took photos . A brickie by trade but not in the industry anymore so built it on my days off .

Inspiring what you're doing Liam, I'm a I.T. guy buy profession but I love DIY and I'm rebuilding my house myself, I have plenty of garden space to build an annex/garden room, I might do this in a couple of years myself - I'm going to follow this build closely - good luck bud, Ian

I hope you will be detailed when it comes to the block word because i have a concrete pad with a concrete panel garage on it, but i want to make a block garage on it. Not too many videos on this subject. so would be nice to get detailed stuff on it. Will continue to follow :)

Liam could you use the dumper to slowly tow the garden room round the front but get a spotter to keep a eye on the dolly's just a thought
Great idea, did think of towing it with the raffle prize, but would need to remove all, the fence and build a platform due to the drives been different levels mate.

About chilling out and taking it easy as i was the same as yourself workin myself like a dog till i took a heart attack so took a year out ye built myself up again and am back workin away not as hard lol.. all the best good to see your back at it and sound a bit more chilled out

Hi Liam.. I understand building the Annex using block and mortar is a better option but did you consider using the timber build route
I did mate, but wanted to do something a lot different tbh, always good to step out of the comfort zone.

you can do it on your own, but I knew that what I was asking for was a push anyway, so a decent architect is required. do you want me to talk about the process on a video?

Additional living area mate, it can't be used as an independent dwelling from main house and must look like the same build up of main house, brick up to waist level then colour matched render.

Company went under last year mate, too much competition, doing it for a lot less than I could.
