@Cephalopopo That is one guest playing a budget deck, though. I'm talking about setting up the pod so they are on theme. That's hard to do with Game Knights since its just a vehicle for whatever new set is coming out, but extra turns allows that flexibility.
@@Ghost26968 unless this is a wizards commercial series I still don't see why it is not possible to do budget friendly decks with a new set. I give you an example. Let's say the eldrazi make their return. @@Cephalopopoand let's be honest here - Josh's deck was definitely not fun or creative! everyone else brought something fun and interesting to show off the best parts of brewing on a budget, but simic deck doing simic things to take over a game and stomp the table is just such an eyeroll.
Really nice to see you guys playing with cards that are more accessible to everyone and showing that you can still have a ton of fun! I would love to see a Pauper Commander episode in the future!
Here for the budget brews. Happy to see one of the biggest yt channels in the mtg space letting people know you don’t have to spend 1000s of dollars to have an awesome and swingy game! Would love to see more of this on the channel.
Swingy? josh took over this whole game and 3v1'd the whole table! i love janky budget brews with all my heart, and i'm quite disappointment that Josh chose to play such a boring simic archetype for this one. Jimmy and the nerds did a good job of showing us how fun and interactive budget brews can be, while Josh decided to go "easy mode" for this one with a basic "simic doing simic things" build.
So happy to see Jolrael get the same reaction from Beezy that I get from everyone when I play her. "I've never seen that card before but it puts in work."
Beezy's interactions were the best part of the game, and it's a shame that Josh's boring and oppressive simic deck didn't allow his guests more space to shine
$100 budget is a fun restriction if you're not used to a budget. It becomes a balancing act - "I could include Card X, but that card's $8, which is a large part of my budget for one card, which means I have to cut back somewhere else". I have an Obeka $100 budget deck that I like to play, and sometimes the price of something jumps and you have to decide if it's still work including or if you need to replace it with something cheaper and less effective.
$100 I don't even consider "budget". That's just a legitimate deck at that point. Not "optimized" no, but genuinely strong. You can easily make a 6-7 power deck with that much money. There are thousands of good cards that are $2 or less in commander. Budget, in my mind, is $50 or less.
@@gibbysg8143 that's a really cool idea. We did that once, kind of. Everybody pitched in to get everybody else something. I got an alter of Krenko Mob Boss with my face on it. We built a deck for another friend. Stuff like that
