How about having Josh play a mono red deck? Or another idea, have all the people playing in one episode build a deck, then blind pick someone else's deck. If that never happened, it'd be interesting to see.
Dang, I’m really surprised that Craig finally got a win on Game Knights, it’s about time he got a win, he always make really good decks, I’m surprised he doesn’t have a lot more wins, it’s probably because everyone at the table always goes after him, like Archenemy, good job Craig, never forget, All Hail Infect
Josh losing because his Dalek's didnt have flying (Must be older daleks, they were efficient enough to have the levitating feature) felt so on flavor! Loved the episode!
@@mauriciovillegas7285 I guess but my take is a little more positive. I think games like this are important to show newer players you don’t have to spend a bunch of money to have a good back and forth game.
This episode was really pleasant to watch. The way all the doctors teamed up to defeat the bad guys and how it ended... It was like it followed a narrative
Of the 191 new cards in this set, I have room for over 150 of them in my decks. That's just a wild percentage, and shows just how...neat these cards are. Kudos to WotC on this one.
I was originally only gonna buy timey wimey but the idea of putting all the doctors in one deck enamoured me so much that my stupid doctor who loving brain bought all of them
Definitely some variance to it. I got to play the time-y whime-y deck vs. the villain deck and they could not get enough card draw to find enough answers for my constant threats and I just also had a bunch of answers to their threats. It was 1v1 though and I think the villain deck gets a lot stronger when against multiple opponents. An all star card in my deck though was the 3 mana artifact that adds a mana for each time counter on it, by the mid/late game it was tapping for 9+ mana.
I’m looking forward to seeing the doctor who references in the cards! There are so many cool creatures. I am looking forward to seeing MTG’s take on a Weeping Angel
I feel like noone appreciated how thematic the 4th Doctor cascading into his signature scarf was EDIT: I also like that Rachel says Cyberman like it's a last name instead of like a Cyber Man
I'm so stoked for the Doctor Who decks! I've been a fan of Doctor Who for almost as long as I've been a fan of Magic the Gathering! This is an Epic time indeed!
Lake Silencio is beautifully well done. That arc was absolutely amazing, Matt Smith and Alex Kingston had beautiful chemistry during it. Good flavor, these planes were done with care
This is a really cool episode! Always fun seeing Craig play something that isn't Infect! Loved seeing all the new decks and the ways everyone interacts!
Been counting the days since these decks were announced to see you guys play them! They’re love letters to Whovians and translate to Magic surprisingly well. Keep up the quality content!!
Really fun episode. I know they’ve been gone for a while, but I still miss the end credits snippets where someone’s interview has a little funny bit. Those were always great
I feel so bad for Rachel. All that wheel-spinning and hardly anything to show for it. Especially when there are cards like Dinosaurs on a Spaceship in that deck.
Now I understand how to play the Planechase thing. I was really angry at the idea when I bought the decks- hated that a strategy game was being reduced to chance too much. this puts my mind at ease. great game, fun guests. thanks.
I'm ambivalent for the Doctor Who decks and cards themselves but very enthusiastic for precon challenges on this show - I think they provide a great counterpart to the all-in battles and showcase a different style of play, much like the deck challenges with strict conditions.
This set is really cool. Lots of great flavor and interesting interactions. Cool game actions. Lots of fun. Also, great pod. Craig is cool and I just love all three hosts and what they bring to a game.
It does sorta feel like they wanted to make the decks have powerful cards, but made them sorta parasitic on purpose so that they couldn't spread to other formats. Which is pretty disappointing, but I do get it. I'm okay with not every supplemental set having staples for other formats.
Never played MTG in my life, but at 42 I am getting into it thanks to Doctor Who (I bought the masters of evil set today) and now just looking to learn. Also love the look of the Fallout sets, Assassins Creed and also Final Fantasy !
It's so interesting watching people play these decks without any knowledge of Doctor Who I do kind of feel bad for them in a way but, to me as a DW fan, it is pretty funny hearing Rachel have to explain what an Ood looks like to the rest of them
Jimmy’s Commander, The Doctor #4; Tom Baker, that’s just good taste! Probably my favorite, though… I did also enjoy Collin Baker, who was… Number eight… I think?.. 8:27 Was it not a mistake for Jimmy and Josh to say out loud they like the Plain they are on..? 😅 As it just inspires the other two to go out of their way to get off it… 🤔 Some hidden strategy behind those confessions…??
What a great episode! I love how the Game Knights team puts so much love and effort into the great set details, animations and tons of Dr Who in jokes :)
Jimmy denying himself a land in order stop Josh from drawing is really thematically appropriate for the two of them.
It is the subtitle of the show 😂
Rachel going “I don’t want to go” was just *chef’s kiss*
Agreed!
Didn't expect that knife to the heart. 10/10
😂
Spoilers!
Oh it hurt
Broke my heart all over again
Can we just appreciate the animation of the Dalek Squadron?
It was pretty sick! Honestly, the animation for this episode in general was fantastic
Eggsterminate!
I was more baffled by the Last Night Together animation at 1:03:43 how the heck did they do that one
@@lightd7533AI
Josh being an absolute menace this game whilst playing the villainous deck is sublime. Feels so right lol
A menace with menace at that!
So true. Very poetic that the one playing the villainous deck gets defeated by the ones playing doctors.
Who would've thought that Josh drawing 2 cards on his first turn would snowball into him being a threat
Oh my gawd…..Rachel’s “I don’t want to go” 😭 😭 😭
That broke my heart 😢
I might have shedded a tear on that one 😢

That shit hit home!!
@@sandman2953 💯
Josh gently whispering "Karn" then later "Nyssa" is hilarious to me.
Same 😂😂
Calling Craig in a game without infect was the best idea ever
Next we just need to get Josh to play a non-blue deck that has to make due with the cards he draws per turn.
I saw Craig I had to watch asap

The Bad Wolf on the table under the Rose Tyler deck is a great touch!
Rachel doing the 'I don't wanna go' line hit me in the feels. She nailed it. David Tennant would be proud.
Man, Rachel’s acting there at the end was amazing, holy crap
then jimmy right after "bleh"
Rachel truly is an amazing work of art
Without the Professor? Shame on you!
To be fair he did his own Dr Who game on his show "Shuffle Up and Play" with Gavin Verhey
@@EZ__ChickenYeah I believe they probably asked him, he might have chose to focus on his own.
He could have done both...so much lost potential 😅
He would have just chastised the whole command zone crew for not Knowing their Who lore. 😅
To be fair I think he was busy filming his own show
Josh losing because his Dalek's didnt have flying (Must be older daleks, they were efficient enough to have the levitating feature) felt so on flavor! Loved the episode!
I like seeing the return of pre con gaming on the channel.
Some semblance of what real players will have in their decks, instead of hundreds of dollars in cards...

Hey Jimmy, at least your cascade with 4th doc was thematically appropriate given it was his scarf
Rachel cascaded into the doctors bow tie as well.

Tbf, that’s the 11th doctor’s bowtie
Having the opening hands be laid out at the beginning to show the numbers of the doctors (and E for exterminate) is just perfect!
Bad Wolf scrawled on the table, such a great detail.
It is also on a couple of the background items.
Yeah, I loved all the references in this episode. It made me laugh a lot in this.
I was so excited by the prospect of Dr. Who Playmats that I didn’t even notice 🤦🏽♀️

Rachel's skyward scream "I just want to timey-wimey!". 🤣🤣🤣
This was a strangely mixed bag of people who really love Doctor Who and people who've been told to say specific things.
Josh's Dalek impression. 🤨
@@motorcycleboy9000 seriously 😂
Truly a moving moment when Yas and the TARDIS went on a date together
The both of them losing by "last night together" was so good, almost cinematic. Great episode! ❤
Wow, that knockout scene with Rachel and Jimmy was something else. This amazing piece of editing gave me the chills. Well done!
Also "Last night together" sounds like a really nice name of a card to end the game.
Of the 191 new cards in this set, I have room for over 150 of them in my decks. That's just a wild percentage, and shows just how...neat these cards are. Kudos to WotC on this one.
44:56 the tenth doctor doesn't put the rest on the bottom in a random order, he leaves them exiled forever
She also forgot to investigate when she suspended Roy Williams.
Rachel and Jimmy: “How long is a turn on Game Knights?”
Josh, remembering the good times (for him): “24 Years.”
Rachel proclaiming the deck has no pay offs was kinda hilarious
It seems like a deck that wants to just build a huge engine and overwhelm everybody with the timey wimey ability just triggering everything early.
The addition of the new camera angles during interviews is cool
I'm so excited for this one! Ordered all 4 decks to play with friends.
Petition for chef to get on game knights sign here
I was originally only gonna buy timey wimey but the idea of putting all the doctors in one deck enamoured me so much that my stupid doctor who loving brain bought all of them
Rachel’s “I don’t wanna go” WHY AM I SOBBING
These decks played a lot as I imagined, Drs twiddle around and do nothing while villain deck actually smashes face 😂
Yeah I really wanted to buy tenth doctor's deck but I also want to win so Villains it was 😅

Josh being a threat even with a precon lol
Josh is the treat even if his commander in a game was turned 1/1 frog, heck he is a threat when he has 9 infect or 20 commander damage!
Josh drawing cards is always a threat !
