You know what I find crazy about Game Knights? I don't play Magic the gathering at all. I've never bought a single card and i still don't fully get how the rules work. But I've never missed an episode because no RUclips series makes me feel like I'm hanging out with some buddies on a Saturday night nerding out like this does. So a heartfelt thank you to everyone from the Commandzone from a longtime fan who can't always keep up with whats going on but tries his best and enjoys every second. CHEERS!
Maybe try playing it online for free in "Magic Arena"? You do miss the social aspect, but the game itself is fun too 😊

Now with these precons being extremely strong right out of the box it’s likely the best time to play along with all the info sites, arena etc. I would recommend all the ixalan precons, the Warhammer ones or the master series precons 🎉

Finnaly being able to see jimmy say “are you gonna pay the 1” is so cathartic
It makes such a huge difference when the professor is at the table. He lightens up the games so much and the other players also enjoy the game much more. It's not about anyone having to make a clown of themselves at the table, but it should be a lesson to all players on how their behavior can have a lasting effect on the fun of all players. Super great game, more of it please.

Make yourself the threat and you make yourself the target. Prof had no reason to worry about the other players at the time.
the pirate makeovers when jimmy recruits creatures made me laugh

just the best time line
30:44 I just wanted to point this out. I LOVED the voice acting on the "yarr" there. like it isnt a regular pirate yarr but it has that vampire tone in it. it sounds mischevious, dark and almost mocking. the voice acting accurately gives the feeling of a vampire who somehow snuck into the pirate crew, and is working with them with his own hidden schemes, not to mention how good it fits the art of the card. I know this is a weird thing to point out maybe, but I just wanted to say incredible job on that bit of voice acting there

What a good episode, great dynamics between everyone at the table. Feels a little more loose and natural than usual, I think Prof and Voxy both bring a good frantic energy.

Words can’t describe how much I love this video and channel. I had a life altering injury a month ago and as a new player, each of your channels has given me something to lift my spirits through the recovery process. Also, this was probably one of my favorite episodes in recent memory not only because of the guests but because everyone got to do what their deck wanted to do.

This is easily my favorite episode of game knights EVER
New MTG fan here. Been distantly curious for a while. Recently got hooked on MTG Arena, and have now ordered my first commander decks.
Found my way here to see if I could get some pointers (I picked up that sweet Pantlaza precon), and I just gotta say, as someone new to the world of Magic content. This video is gorgeous. The lighting, imagery and sound quality, the editing, the whole well-executed production from start to finish is so well polished and something to be proud of.

I LOVE when the games go down like this! Josh coming out swinging like a Juggernaut, Jimmy not having the mana drought while showing how tuned the deck is, Voxy with the most exciting Top Deck, and the Professor is always a joy to watch compete. WONDERFUL episode!

Me and my friends started learning magic when the first ixalan set came out playing one of the tribes each. A few years back we all fell out of love with the game but with the new release we all grabbed a precon kept it raw and we have all fallen back in love with the game its like been a kid again
I loved seeing how much synergy you guys gave your decks! I can also tell the editors has a lot of fun turning creature cards into pirates 🤣
Seeing Josh pick fungus instead of vampires did 4d6 psychic damage to me.

In his defense I think fungus are more deck building interesting than vampires.

At 1:03:45, the Stroke of Midnight isn't actually countered - the enchantment is indestructible, it doesn't have hexproof via Boros Charm, so the Stroke would still resolve and Jimmy would get the 1/1 token.
bro the spell is to destroy it, if it the enchantment can not be destroyed due to the charm, the spell can not resolve.

@@sabertooth509 Nothing on Stroke of Midnight says the permanent has to be destroyed in order for the token to be created. The enchantment is still a legal target for the Stroke when it resolves, even if it's indestructible, and when the spell resolves, we do as much as possible. The enchantment isn't destroyed since the permanent is indestructible, but Jimmy still creates the token, even if it's not destroyed. If it had to be destroyed it would be worded like "Destroy target nonland permanent. *If that permanent was destroyed this way*, that permanent's controller creates a 1/1 token".
@@sabertooth509 The rule in general is that effects do as much as they can do. The effect does two things: destroy the enchantment and create a token. It can't destroy the enchantment, then sure, it doesn't do that. But it creates the token.
(On the other hand, if the enchantment had hexproof, the spell wouldn't resolve. That's not "because it cannot destroy the enchantment" - it's because there's a rule that says that, if a spell has targets, and none of the spell's targets are legal targets when it resolves, it doesn't resolve. Note that they simply have to be legal, not reasonable: you can target an indestructible enchantment because nothing says you can't, even if the effect won't do anything useful.)
@@therealax6well said. Related fun fact: you can cast counterspell targeting a spell that can't be countered and it will resolve. It will just do nothing.

Game Knights brought me to back to playing Magic after not playing for almost 20 years and introduced me to commander. This is by far the best episode to come out. 🎉
WHat a great game! SO entertaining and such great turns. Jimmy's choosing to turn his own commander into a treasure token to dodge is own Toxic Deluge was so big brained. All of these decks actually seem quite strong and fun!
That one turn from jimmy made me a believer in building this pirate deck. So much fun.
