You are a true hero my friend
Instantly ordered Three Dog, never before have I clicked a video and spent money this fast, ended up spending 40 euros including 15 euros shipping from cardmarket so your prices are spot on! Your 50 decks for 50 dollars is also one my most used sources for decks.
Before people complain about prices exceeding $25, check whether there is an obvious reason. Often, it is adding an absurd price for basic lands and/or selecting an unusual art for a card like the Secret Lair version which is way overpriced.
The CRAZY part of this is that they're cardkingdom prices, which are INSANE.
The efficiency here is actually off the charts.
Where can you get them cheaper?
Very refreshing to see something helpful and REAL during April 1st. Thank you.
5 budget decks would be impressive- 25 is fantastic!!! Thanks so much
Budget decks are much stronger these days with all the reprints we've been getting. Snagged sphinx of the second sun for less than .50 cents! Would've cost me $8-10 before its reprint. Also snagged a bunch of staples for cheap too recently! Great video!
$25 budget off CK prices is actually goated…..they only sell commons as low as 25 cents sometimes 15 but rarely.
Basically paying over double for most but one package from CK vs 20 different ones off tcgplayer, makes it worth a couple extra bucks imo.
Comments for the algorithm.
I'm not going to lie, I generally don't use budget decks very often but overall resources like these are still immensely useful for players across the board especially when trying to introduce new players to the format while not requiring them to spend a whole lot of money. Tomer you always out do yourself, never stop.
Wonderful work thank you !
What a ridiculous video. Seriously. There's so much content about EDH on youtube and a lot of it is really good but THIS video just puts the entire deckbuilding part into a new perspective for me.
This video really hammered into me how seriously underwhelming my deckbuilding process is. Whenever I build a deck on moxfield or whatever, the price of the deck always ends up being something north of 300€ (or $500). Sure those prices are always super inflated but the points remains: I'm building mediocre expensive decks. And here tomer comes and casually puts out 25 (!) EDH-decks, that actually function and cost a fraction to build of whatever piles I'm cooking up.
I've been playing magic since the very early 2000s and have a deep collection, but apparently that's all I've got going. I'm shattered.
Thank you so much for the video. As a beginner MTG player and a student on a budget, these deck seems super fun and really excited to see if any of them can go up against a 150$ General Ferrous Rokiric deck
I have been think of building zada for a long time and this video sold me on it. Thanks tomer! Coming in clutch
Glad to help out! Be sure to goldfish the deck, it will make your storm turn way faster and easier to pull off once you're familiar with all the cards
this was very fun, inspiring and usefull! Looking forward for more videos like this, Tomer!
there's tomer
there's 25 budget deck
MUST LIKE IT
This video is great! I wouldn’t have seen it if it weren’t for your tweet, so I am grateful!
Never clicked a link faster as a crazy deck builder and there's a ton of decks here that really speak to me, like nelly and etrata, especially with the upcoming support for mercenary cards in OTJ.
Ok, definitely checking out the Verazol deck
love love love your content!!
My first budget brew was basically your exact Hamza list but I use Kutzil in the command zone!
Awesome video, finally that is true budget and not just cheap combo!
I got the perfect upgrade for the zimone and dina list: Mosswood Dreadknight. Sac it to zimone, draw/ramp, cast its adventure from the graveyard, then recast it again to keep the value engine going!
Awesome brews. I will definitely build a few of these.
Just brilliant! This will probably be the most valuable bang-for-buck mtg video for me. What a treasure.
You're doing the Lords work, Tomer. All hail the budget deck!
super cool video Tomer, quite a few decks which i thought i might build. really like Etrate, Zimone and Dina and Esior + Eligeth. but no way i share this video before i tried building atleast one of the decks.
bought the singles for Abdel and Legolas. i'm so excited to try them out!
Love it. CLASH ON!
Always love your content 🖤
Ey! Thanks for the Ideas Tomer!
I made a ruxa patient professor deck with a budget of $20 and i had a lot of fun doing it. Looking into making more budget decks in the future
Wait is this an April fools joke? I’m so confused. This seems like a real set of decks.
They are real decks! Just unfortunate timing :P
The real April Fools are Wizard's Precon prices!
@@tomerabramovici32If you ever do another one of these, could you (attempt to) give a rough power level ranking to each of them? I know it’s hard to give an accurate one, but maybe you could hit close to the mark?
I’m always interested in building these, but I don’t want to build one and then not have anywhere to play it because it’s too weak or too strong for my meta.
Well except Borborgymos... that one is a meme.
@Skuntdilly I love the magic community but this is becoming the most insane narrative. Almost all pre cons end up being worth more if you buy the singles, by a lot. People will pay 60$ for a video game and won't blink, but won't pay 60$ for a precon
These are even more impressive knowing you used a price list that massively overcharges for commons and uncommons.
Some great ideas
Never heard of Verazol before!
It's very strong!
I love Verazol!
So Meneldor, Swift Savior reads "exile up to one target creature you own" which means you cant target the things you cloak from your opponents right?
My mistake! Fixed the list, thanks for pointing it out
I always love seeing which of these cheap decks can stack up against higher budgets
I just built a cheap mono green deck already (40$ shigeki spell slinger) but that legolas deck looks like a TON of fun!
Hi Tommer, you forgot to put link into the vid description :)
Also would not be good to add Curse of Verbosity into Edric deck?
They should all be there now. Yes, the Curse is solid! I personally like the Coastal Piracy type cards more since you can easily draw 3+ cards per trun off them as backup Edrics, but the Curse also works :)
@@tomerabramovici32 I also did not realize that Reliq tower is not in this budget, how is it still so expensive! Isnt in like every precon?
Suspicious Stowaway fits nicely as well, but nobody wants to track that stupid day/night
For the Etrata deck, if budget allows, Maskwood Nexus and Arcane Adaptation are absolutely bonkers in that deck because they make all of the face down 2/2s into assassins as well, so you get a board state that doubles in size every turn, it is actually disgusting.
They couldn't fit in the budget (hard for me to add stuff over $1) but they are definitely amazing upgrades! Very high-impact upgrades
Considering how ridiculously overprice Card Kingdom is, I'm surprised you managed to build these decks with them!
56:01 i feel like nerd rage would do very well in this deck as well, an easy 3 mana +10/10 and unlimited hand size, not to mention how it draws 2 more cards
Don't know how I missed that! Added the card, thank you :)
Just a note for Verazol- when you copy spells with choices, your copies must have the same choices as the original spell. So, if you pick every option, you have to a valid target for each option for the copy or the copy is NOT created!
15:26 - "Geese-ela"
All I can picture now is a giant angelic goose with a sword 🗡🪿
well, that's awesome.
For the Ognis decklist, what would you replace in the budget decklist for the upgrade card options that are listed under the decklist?
It's in the article:
"How To Upgrade
The best way to upgrade decks is to playtest them first and then make adjustments based on your meta.
But let's say you have a bunch of expensive cards and want to juice up these decks without testing them first. What do you take out? The rule of thumb is to take out a card that fulfills a similar role. So if you want to add a Fierce Guardianship then take out Negate, or you have a fetchland then take out a basic.
Please don't cut all the lands to add nonland cards. That will make you (and me) sad. The only exceptions are the $10 brews Pako, Malcolm, and Gonti. All of those work a ton better when you're at around 38 lands; the higher land count is to save money."
Hamza squad actually sounds super cool!
I don't know if you or someone else already caught it but for the Etrata deck, Meneldor only lets you target creatures you own so that unfortunately wouldn't work on cards cloaked from your opponents' libraries. Just wanted to mention it so people that wanna build deck don't buy it and then have to swap it out later.
My mistake! Fixed the list, thanks for pointing it out
The people want 100$ next! Update your 50$ aswell please!
Does Hamza's cost reduction ability assist with Squad Cost or since that's an additional cost it only reduces the main cost?
I don't think it does because it is an additional cost and not the cost for casting it
Notable missing:
- Commander Liara (Boros Aggro / exile / Myriad) --> Less obnoxious than Winota
- Strefan (sac artifact / Vampires) --> similar to Teysa, but Rakdos
- Breena (indirect goad / draw / +1/+1) --> a different take on Nelly Borca
- Eligeth and Kydele (draw / draw / draw / sphinxes?) --> way better than Esior. Still mono blue, but you put 12 2cmc ramp spells in the deck and you will be consistently casting Eligeth turn 4 thanks to Kydele as partner. Esior is in the deck
- Gavi (cycling / blink / draw)
- Esix (token / Simic value)
- Rionya (storm) --> similar to Zada, but imho more fun
Other interesting designs that maybe be harder to build 25$ decks:
- Neera, Wild Mage
- Bane, Lord of Darkness
- .... lots of others
Those are fine suggestions! I will mention though Breena is currently over $12 on mtggoldfish so I couldn't do a $25 brew with her, otherwise I would (I did a $50 list though).
@@tomerabramovici32 didn't notice! I was used for her to be a 1$ card
It's crazy that Gisela is under $1 because she was like $20 a year ago.
Hype!
Of these decks, which 4 would be best to start the table with, to get different results?
The strongest decks are probably Light-Paws / Winota / Vadrik / Zada, the weakest is Borb / Gonti. All the rest are roughly matched with each other, so pick 4 you like and you're good.
I didn't realize hamza reduced squad, that seems strong
Hamza is strong! Just needs a bit of setup 😉
@@Sinistra359 yeah I have a hamza deck and I've been underestimating him all this time lmao
The Council of Four deck sounds fun
Gosh it really is! Five mana is a lot for a commander in 2024 but if Council sticks you're drawing so many cards and making so many tokens!
can i get a link to the Edric game mentioned at 40:23? i cant find it
It was our very first Commander Clash episode 8 years ago, warning it's incredibly outdated: ruclips.net/video/3m6bgbFr82Q/видео.html
@@tomerabramovici32 thank you!
Anyone got any ideas for a 10$ (maybe up to 12$) Rakdos deck? xD My pod is having a kind of a game to draw a color combination and come up with a super budget deck with it, and I got Rakdos. Was thinking of Kardur but can't come up with anything cheaper than maybe 40$ xD
$10 is incredibly difficult, you have to run a very high number of basics so you need a commander that can offset flooding out in some way (pako / malcolm / gonti draw off opponents' decks). For like $25 you can make a bunch of strong decks, for example new Judith or Tor Wauki (+Obosh). Might even be able to get Ob Nix under that. But $10 requires very specific commanders.
Am i doing something wrong? At MTGgoldfish, the very first deck is stated as $23, but when i get to CardKingdom, it spikes up to $57. Why is this happening?
The only bad part its that with shiping the price grows a lot idk if i should buy a precon
❤
Verazol is so much fun but your missing my favorite 3 cent card. Wicker picker gives all your creatures sticker kicker for 1. I dont even play stickers, it just makes my creatures be "kicked" for 1 mana to copy them
I was considering it, but there's only 8 nonlegendary creatures without kicker so I'm not sure if it's still worth it. It's much better in Hallar imo because sticker kicker is only 1, and you don't actually care about what the kicked abilities do with Hallar they are just efficient burn.
Are these all precons or just decks?
They're brews. Not precons
You may have heard of 90 land Borborygmos
But have you heard of 99 Mountain Ashling
99 lands Ashling better be in.
That will be for my "1 Commander Deck Under $1" video :P
Storm is fun for no one except the storm player
I love you ❤
When are you gonna brew for pauper commander or artisan commander? It’s like you were genetically engineered for it
My General Ferrous deck won its first game, my deck has 3 mono colored spells everything else is multi
25$ + 20$ shipping
Tomer i have never wanted to build a +1/+1 counter deck. But building a hamza eldrazi deck has me convinced
Where’s the kaust deck
Ragavan and 99 mountains, lol
maybe on the $50 list
eeyyyyy ognis, my ognis deck is decidedly not budget XD
Unfortunately your prices does not apply at all in asia country, first is the conversion rate. Second is our country dealers sell cards rounding the price even higher, hence we just do proxy only. I do my 6 decks full of proxy which is better than paying all those. Those decks round off could be my whole month salary. I do not care if u said proxy is bad, but currency is very bad now in my country.
Im glad you and your friends are able to enjoy the game.
Expected the first one to say "First things first, we gotta throw in Mana Crypt, after all we gotta cast our commander quickly with some nice mana ramp"
What's with Tomer's eyes? Why isn't he blinking like a normal human being?
Is the April Fools joke the fact that all of these decks are $50, not $25? Amazing video nontheless.
some of these decks are between 5-10 dollars without the basic land cards before shipping, there are no april fools joke here
GISELLA IS UNDER A 1$ NOW???
yup!
Nice! Shame you putbit up in april fools
So, has anybody else thought that Tomer often seems very twitchy in his videos? Like an unusual amount of random seeming movement? I'm wondering if he's got some kind of condition like Parkinsons or anxiety or I'm not sure what?
This is not any insult of Tomer. It doesn't seem to affect his content. I'm just genuinely curious and I hope he is ok.
P.S. Maybe this is already known and I just missed it. Or maybe I'm wrong.
He’s mentioned in prior podcast eps that he has ADHD
I watched him for 20+ hours and never noticed something like that :)
@lotsofxsosand1s Oh, interesting. Maybe that's what I'm noticing?
Myself and friends/family have our own issues so I really find it interesting how different people deal with stuff. We've all got stuff to deal with.
Like being addicted to budget decks.
I love watching Tomers mouth while he talks 😅 He's such a cute dude 😎
I don’t like your thumbnail
So watch the video instead of staring at the thumbnail?
stop patronizing me
@@Argentina... only if you stop hating on the video for no good reason
What's wrong with Tomer's thumb nails??!?!
