Long before anyone had heard of “Commander” Elder Dragons ruled the skies! So it’s time to return to the format’s roots, and play some TRUE EDH! I was rooting so hard for CGB after the most disrespectful Fact or Fiction split I've ever seen.
Think she was Monarch at the time. That was a true and cruel Monarch decision. Marchessa would be proud.
I absolutely would have spite played the 4. I speculate he had inkshield in hand and he correctly threat assessed that flyers could deal with walls. I haven't watched the additional vid they mentioned in this episode yet.
I actually think the correct play was for CGB to turn around and ask if he takes the 4 and doesn't counter the spell if the two would team up. I think he would have had an even more powerful of a victory and an easier time along the way with an ally. He seemed a bit bothered up until a certain point and I believe he drew inkshield off of the draw 6 he did later on. At which point his demeanor changes and he seems a lot more confident in his "draw pass" flash strategy. I thought maybe grixis with all that land could've been some trouble but it wound up being a dud turn that didn't do much and CGB swung for game repeatedly. He played very well, slitherwisp is an MVP card.
God I love Inkshield. It’s also very poetic that Taalia played Tower Defense to get to just enough damage that that many inklings would kill her outright.

Imagine needing your play to resolve, you ask other player for help, and than you only give them a single card that will save you?
Bitch please, not only I would not help you, I would play rest of the game only focusing you, as much as I can without even carrying about winning.

@pucifer92 I can agree with you 100%. Plus CGB helped her save her hand (after she pleaded that she needed it) when Josh tried to wheel. Then she immediately smacked him for a card draw right after without asking. In that situation you should ask...like, hey friend, can I poke you for a card draw?... after you let me keep my hand I love soo much?

Inkshield is my favorite fog spell of all time. I've never resolved it and NOT been happy.
Ink shield needs a ban or magic needs a new set of cheap counter cards like ones that cost 2 1 or 0 just saying the card needs to be stopped some way since its fog and board

That Fact or Fiction. We're just different people. When you say "help me", if I extend a hand, and you follow up by pulling your dagger at me, I let go and let you fall. Might even give you extra speed on your way down XD
It's not about winning; it's about principles and sending a message.
Right? ...guy stops windfall while she clearly don't want it to resolve and she attacks him, offers help in resources then she does that, she then makes a deal about full attacking and doesn't uphold it (actually it seems it was Josh didn't phrase the deal very well in the heat of the moment). But was a good game regardless, bro pulled up a flash deck without it being counter tribal xD
I have been waiting to see CGB on game knights forever!!! So happy to see him on the show and to see him win with the classic control style!!!!! Love CGB!

Never watched Command Zone before until CGB sent me this way. It was fun rooting for him to win like I root for my favorite sports teams since I didn't know any of the other players at the time of watching this. Commander (Brawl on MTGA) is probably my favorite game type to play so I will definitely be subbing and watching more. Thanks for the great content. Oh and hats off to the video editor, keeping up with all the plays, triggers and the overall game was very easy to follow. Especially at the speed that they are playing.

I wonder why CGB didn't do exactly what Jimmy did: wait for Akroma's Will to hit the stack, then respond by removing Arcades.
Probably bc Taalia was tapped out and he knew it would work. Definitely playing it super safe, but Bant is pretty good at protecting its stuff with open mana so I'd assume he just wanted to be extra certain it would work
Exactly what the other person said. She was tapped out and couldn't afford to play both arcades and memorial on her turn so doing it at end step is just safer
There's also no guarantee she would actually play the Akroma's Will. She could swing with what she had to great effect, and she could dangle the Akroma's Will to thwart any attempt to interfere

@@ElDocBruh i get that, though when a play shows that they can lethal either on of you rather easily and said player is at 74 life, i would be concerned as how to take that play down. Espically since josh wasnt milling or discarding them a lot either. I get both sides of the arguement but I really think Josh lost the game for himself when he made that partnership.
