It's called "invited error". The defense cannot sabotage a trial, and call for a mistrial because of their own sabotage. Court rules disallow that.

When Jone's lawyer "accidently" sent that text to the prosecutor and then was told by the prosecutor that he received that text and the defense lawyer basically didn't want to hear it then he has to be trying to get a mistrial. Some lawyers have no scruples whatsoever.

@@nANa-bq8xm well, he set himself up when he didn’t complete the discovery process correctly. In fact his goal was to do it incorrectly and aim to get a mistrial. So the fact it backfired is an act of justice. Main point is, the defense did a really bad job and was banking on getting a mistrial, however, by law, a mistrial isn’t given if defense wrongdoing is the reason. It makes sense that defense attorney can’t just screw up paper work and that makes their client go free. and even though he asked plaintiff to not use what he accidentally gave them, if you don’t give anything else then what else could plaintiff use? if defense attorney really wanted to fix it he could have, but he was banking on getting mistrial and failed. defense was purposely sabotaging the trial.

He didn't blow off court dates, he was being pushed until he made a mistake and even that's unclear because no one is allowed to talk about it. Even if he didn't provide everything, a default judgement is not appropriate, it's malicious. A default judgement is rare and only makes sense when the defendant completely ignores the court, and even then there is often a trial absent of the defendant. Jones did everything he could to accommodate the demands of the court. The fair action would be to go to trial, then the plaintiffs may bring up all the evidence they asked for during discovery, but did not receive. But Jones didn't even get that chance. There was no excuse for a default judgement. It's unconstitutional, malicious and extremely dangerous. Any judge can say the defendant didn't provide enough evidence and you're guilty. Why? Because you didn't prove your own guilt? What discovery did Jones fail to provide? No one knows because no one cares. And Jones is not allowed to defend himself on that because the judge made it against the rules. It's a Soviet style show trial. But it's Alex Jones so constitutionally protected rights don't apply.
