Alex Jones' Lawyer Challenges Judge, Claims Ruling Has No Legal Basis

- Alex Jones' lawyer Norm Pattis challenged Judge Barbara Bellis' decision to deny his motion to play the Megyn Kelly interview, arguing that the judge has no legal basis. "There's no there is no legal basis stated. I'm entitled to that under the practice book," Pattis said. "I believe that he argued it for 20 minutes, and I think the record is clear attorney Pattis," Bellis responded.

What was said on another show has no place in this trial. Alex Jones and his council thought that they could draw this out forever by refusing to comply with court ordered discovery. He has been found liable for his claims by way of default judgment and whatever was said on Meghan Kelly only serves to confuse the jury about if the statements were untrue. This is about how much he owes the families for his claims which have already been adjudicated as defamatory. It’s really that easy.
The only reason they are able to get Jones on statute of limitations is because Kelly brought it up in an interview. So literally this interview is relevant. If they didnt have the Kelly interview, after she promised not to ask him about Sandy hook. If that hadnt happened they would have passed statute of limitations
@@mirandastephens4586 it's certainly relevant in the preliminary fault trial but Jones has already been found liable. He cannot at this juncture bring up such claims because that phase has ended. @@mirandastephens4586 I don't believe that applies here. The statute is based on when the subject learned about the accusations or within a reasonable time, not when they were initially made. Alex is unhappy? Try some Bone Broth.
Theres a new sheriff in town. This lawyer is much better than his last lawyer and very effective.
@Null Pointer You can stand up to a judge if the law is on your side. She's had to back down on several points and control her seething throughout the trial because he's been legally correct. As effective an advocate as he can be given the circumstances imo
So he’s predicting that there will be a mistrial. This lawyer is overly convinced of his great power of mind.
NO, actually the judge has demonstrated her bias by assuming that there will be a guilty verdict by which an appeal will be filed. Complete BS
He's already guilty by default. This is punishment phase of the process.
@@kenbaustin4533 ahh yes one of his puppets. Do you always talk out your a** by someone else shoving their hand into you?
@@kenbaustin4533 is the prosecutor not allowed to appeal?
@@priscillaastling8707 The prosecutor has the right to retry in the case of a hung jury or mistrial but once found not guilty it would be double jeopardy to retry on a charge that you have been acquitted for.
This is just a hail mary attempt to find a reason to appeal. If they wanted to try the case, as he suggested, then they should have focused on this trial from the beginning instead of playing games. This is what losing looks like.
Nope. This is how you preserve something for an appeal when a judge hands you unassailable grounds for an appeal that will absolutely get any verdict against your client overturned. I'm UT Knoxville College of Law. Where did you attend law school?
@@agb1953 We'll see if it plays out that way. Only wannabe lawyers feel the need to explain their credentials.
@@toditron Spare me your amateur psychology nonsense. The world doesn't really run on cliches. It's blatantly obvious that I knew why the lawyer was getting what he needed to onto the record for purposes of an appeal, and you didn't have a clue. He wasn't trying to "find a reason to appeal" like you declared. He was preserving present grounds for an appeal.
@@agb1953 Sounds like fun. Thanks.
The only thing he should argue for, is a brush.🙄
Norm isn't even good at pretending to be lawyer, let alone acting as one.
Defense lawyer stuttering, correcting his own words repeatedly, indicates he is a terrible public speaker not in control of his own speech.
Are you out of your mind?
@The Majority Speaks 8:00
I’m guessing these at best these are rigged comments 😂 at worst definitely not familiar with law to the point they don’t understand what he’s doing .., here is a tip never ever never under any circumstances Judge an attorney’s ability based on speech patterns , grammar or feigned stupidity if so your falling for it 😂
He's just frustrated because he feels like he had a good point.
You want to see an example of poor pubic speking skills? Look up Norm patis stand up.
Drag 'em outta there by his ponytail! 👋
violence is never the answer...oh wait you're a democrat! You love violence upon those you don't agree with
His lawyer is actually 2 hamsters operating a dead man.
Classic.
This attorney is so disheveled it’s unnerving
Must be nice to have a judge that sides with the plaintiffs and rules that the very evidence the plaintiffs referenced in a lawsuit can't be allowed in by the defense.
If it were exactly the same, they wouldn't need to enter it as another exhibit. Sounds like the defense is trying to introduce the full 50-minute interview (likely Jones repeating his lies over & over to Megyn Kelly, not adding any facts) where the defense offered shorter excerpts. Jones's lawyer should be able to work with those same excerpts.
2:34 did he really say he will make a motion for a mistrial 😂😂 this is a zoo at least the judge doesn’t take any nonsense
I can't take any lawyer seriously when they have a ponytail like that
Very patient judge very patient.i would have told to sit down and shut up
Mr. Grandstander, Norm Pattis clearly states @ 2:50 that "Exaggeration and Motive was his team's defense"....that alone shows the cavalier handling of this case by the Defense. Their Goal is to bamboozle, tap dance and side swipe the Jury with a bunch of miss-directed legal jargon in hopes of getting JUST ONE PERSON to Tap out and throw in the towel for a mistrial.
I don't know, he seems to be missing his top hat and cane. 😂
@@JB-yb4wn 🤣 He really does remind me of a 1960's Hippie Lawyer who just keeps "Fighting The Man"....Salute

Turn on, tune in and drop out. Groovy, man. 🤣
@@JB-yb4wn He might just have known Abbie Hoffman and The Gang! I'm guessing though that Norm is at least getting paid well by Alex to put on this Dog and Pony Show!
@@TheStuport
**ahem** dog and ponytail show. 😁
*All of this is a charade.*
Is this the same lawyer that sent EVERY text from jones's phone to the other lawyer?
I don't think the texts were the problem.
The medical records of the plaintiffs were, though.
Calling a liar, a liar is illegal????
