- Hey guys, I have been thinking on making a mesmer skip video for a while, especially showcasing some of the skips traditionally not possible on mesmer, making them possible.
I hope you enjoy the video, i'll try to timestamp it as soon as possible
there will be skips/portals and tricks in the video: e.g. using feedback on snowblind fractal.. and of the sort

Quick Note: As long as you pass through all checkpoints in the video, it is technicly possible to skip the rock boss in Sunqua Peak Normal Mode as well, but i ended up deciding to only upload skips that I would actually end up doing in my daily runs / static runs
Some skips i decided not to upload if the skip saves you 5s~ at most and is extremely unconsistent
For skips that save more time, but are inconsistent, i included them, but made a note that it is difficult
One more note: Most of the skips are preferably done as dps, worst case alac provider. You usually still want your team to have quickness/might to clear adds
Edit: I forgot typing it there, but the east room skip in thaumanova is also difficult to get right

Quick tipp for the heal chronos out there: In silent surf you can skip the "look away"/eye mechanic by giving your group resistance with rifle 5

If the queuing up isn't working for you (like it was for me) this is the comment you've been looking for.
You need to jump right after sword 5 so by the time the cast finishes you are on the ground again or else it won't work. So basically press 5 and space at the same time

One skip i would have loved to see here is the Molten Boss skip to the end. The one where you stealth till the ramp, walk to the backside, jump onto the edge of the metal road, choya onto the other side with superspeed, jump down to get ported to the end, rez, kill that one invisible add group, mirage sword leap onto the gate, kill the last group and get the checkpoint for your group. Ye i know it is more like a preclear thing to do, but takes less than 3-5min.
Ah and the mirage leap at Uncat can be done with relic of speed without the need to jump leap, so once you know the fix point it is my fav version to go for.

The Mirage leap is a good PSA, i personally tried a lot of methods, and none of it was consistent for me with mirage leap. I personally always do the Choya leap and i get it with ease everytime. May be more of a skill issue on my part.
I didnt add a few skips because i wanted the video to entail stuff you would do in normal runs, and everything in the video is usually easily done consistently. If it's not consistent it is mentioned on the text above that it may be difficult

Could you share more details on how to do that leap? Never managed to hit it with Mirage.
@@Kaedalus use Relic of Speed with Swiftness e.g. by using Focus 4 and then position yourself at the edge of the ramp, right before the peak, with your char facing forwards.
Having a visual demonstration would probably be more helpful i know, but you've got the setup so just try to try and error until you found the correct alignment.

Hey, great video. I'm a little lost on the second part of the tech explanations, where you're teleporting up in the WvW JP, which I assume is the same tech for the first Battlegrounds skip. Can you explain what's happening?

How did u manage to jump the first door on Underground facility?
Very new to mesmer, very lucky to have stumbled on your channel.
Two quick questions: you're applying superspeed to yourself in several places, is that exclusively from Temporal Enchanter?
And several times in Sunqua you leap with sword 3 and end up below the target platform, but it looks like you activate the second bit of sword 3 and it brings you up. Is it basically breaking pathing and putting you on the nearest surface?

Superspeed application is done through temporal enchanter, timewarp, well of action, and pack relic + elite skill usage, these are your different easy methods of getting superspeed
i personally run pack relic on my skip template, afaik most peolpe run speed relic on their skip template, which is an equal, if not a better option

at 31:35 i show different methods on multiple classes on how to do a mid-air shadowstep, there is more classes where its possible, i just show some options

Hey! This is achievable in multiple different ways.
I showcase some possibilities at 31:35 on multiple classes
Shadowsteps always try to latch on to an area where you can use shadowsteps usually
We are using that fact to perform some shadowsteps midair to latch on to the shadowstep-areas
Dont be too excited. There is very limited places you can get to with this method. It doesnt really break the game anywhere in a significant way. Out of bounds it usually never works cause OOB is usually permanently a non shadowstep area.
Three Method Examples:
Shadowsteps with a cast time - Simple. Use a shadowstep that has a cast time, jump to a ledge you want to get up on. At the end of the cast time, be up as far as u can to the desired spot.
Shadowsteps usable mid air - Simple. Some shadowstep abilities can be activated mid air. Jump and use ability.
Shadowsteps through template swapping - A bit more intricate, but not difficult - Any ability that has a flip-over to return you to your original position, will take you back when you press the button again right? This also works by just swapping your buildtemplate instead of pressing the return ability due to status reset. So use your initial ability, jump, build template swap - Also simple, just more technical
Thief alone has access to all these categories through shortbow 5, sword 2, shadowstep utility, signet of infiltration.
Necromancer can use wurm
Guardian has willbender f3 - and meditation utility to shadowstep to allies - combined with sirit weapons
ele has air sword 2
etc...
there is basicly many different methods of doing it on many different classes ^^

I'm wondering: how do you use the chest tonic in deepstone while airbound? I just get the message it can't be used...
Any other items work as well?
There is 2 or 3 different chest tonics, the ones you get from fractal rush event, all of them work (i think, or at least 2 out of 3 of them work)
If you have the items in your novelties i dont think u can use them while airborne, has to be in inventory

@@FeintFate i currently have the endless shiny chest tonic in my novelties, is there a way to get an itemised version? wiki says that the one sold by fractal rush vendor requires tonic not already binded to account.

You could possibly ask support for an extra chest and provide a screenshot of proof of posession of the item maybe
How did you get the underground skip so consistently?
Hey, maybe a dumb question but I don't quite understand how you're doing the wall skip on Urban battlegrounds, don't see anything targeted or anything, care to elaborate a bit?
Has this been fixed? I can't seem to be able to teleport towards the enemy....
did they patch the cast/jump/illusionary Ambush since this video? i can't seem to get it to work for the molten boss skip

Whats that jump you do out of nowhere? You are not in a tonic but you launch forward?

how do you retarget when the target's out of sight ? i have been trying for some good time and couldnt simply retarget ( tab target for example ), did you use any specific setting for it ?
If you don't have any target selected, the "mark target" keybind, the one that makes the red symbol appear over the targeted person/enemies head, can be used to target entities through walls. Just make sure that the entity is in the middle of ur camera, slightly wiggle ur camera while spamming the call target button
It's the "Call Target" Keybind under the Targeting Category
Was the jump IA retargeting thing patched? I only ever seem to blink to the target I used IA on, not the one I target by pressing T before the sword cast finishes.

@@FeintFate Yeah I just figured it out - I didn't have "Enable skill retargeting" selected in options.

Yo some if these are insane! The trick where you target a closer enemy with Mirage Advance alone is gonna save me so many "Where thief?!" moments.
Edit: also how tf did you get 3 mirage advances and 2 portals at the end of the video and do they actually function as separate cooldowns?

I have a fixed skip template:
Chaos 312
Inspiration x32
Mirage 212
Gear: Sword Mainhand x2, focus and sword offhand(sword offhand can be replaced by anything)
Runes: Surging Runes
Relic: I personally run pack relic, most peolpe i know run speed relic which is equally good if not better
I run 100% bd on this template as well
I have a second template which is a healchrono template with some exceptions. If i am not playing healchrono at the moment, that template slot for me is always a healchrono template with the exception that i run prismatic understanding as a trait,
and utility bar: blink, portal, mimic, mass invis
this allows me to have a healchrono ready with a single trait change if i ever play healer anywhere, including outside of fractals ^^
How do you have 3 illusionary ambushes slotted?
I second this too. And 2 portals also. No result on google search either.
Build?
How do you get over the first game for undergound? 00:55
Jump towards the gate with at least 25% movement speed (not necessary but helps a lot), collide with the gate at the highest point of your jump, jump again at that point and thats it.
It is very consistent, may require some practice on wall jumping ^^

Is the skip at 17:10 very precise? I can't find a single pixel that allows me jump up there
i wouldnt say precise, what i do is move my mouse around the area and spam blink, takes 2-3 skill presses for it to port me up on average
@@FeintFate Just to get back to you, I figured out why it didn't work for me. I went up there alone to do testing, but i only cleared the fractal *up to* that point, didn't do the arm seals. So it wouldn't let me jump up there for some reason. I got suspicious, called a friend, we broke the arm seals, then she tried to Blink up there and it worked first try. However, it wouldn't let me Blink after her. Then we figured out that for some reason, it can only be done once per whole party wipe, so after we both /gg'd, I could Blink up, but she couldn't anymore. Really strange, just thought i'd share, in case there's some useful info in there.

is the choya jump hard to do, mine just feel like not enough height
At which part? The jump is being used in multiple spots. But in all of the spots it should be easy to use. For Sunqua Peak specificly you can use Ability 2 then Jump after, because the collected wisps change the way your jump mechanicly works, it can be used during other casts. Otherwise Space + Jump at the same time.
Most of the long range jumps for choya require you to have both superspeed and quickness

@@Kaedalus Sorry there isnt a lot to it... It's just jumping + pressing 2 at the same time. You usually get in so many attempts every second that it usually isnt too big of a problem
Does it work with Thief portal?
While this guide was made for mesmer, thief is the superior class for most of the fractal skips due to superior mobility, if all we need is a one use portal. So yes, you could in theory use some of these for thief portals as well ^^

have no idea whats happening, but it looks skillful. I've had gw2 since 2012 and never played fractals lol. always seemed too intimidating because of all the sweaty tryhards :(
Ask yourself if you would be mad at someone inexperienced if they weren't as quick or good as you in something, if the answer is no then ask yourself if you care that much about others opinion of you that you'd rather not encounter them then potentially anger them even when it's something you wouldn't get angry over, random ppl aren't more important than you bro, just try it out and see if it's for you, but don't let others or even worse your idea of others stop you, if you've actually never played fractals, just try them, 100% not everyone is a tryhard crybaby, just some of us :) my apologies for them in advance, I hope you give it a try and see you in a pug some day, god speed to ya!
@@cally7317 I have played the majority in sPvP all these years. only installed the game again two weeks ago and i'm not even geared on any of my characters. trying to enjoy the PvE part a bit more now I get a chance to go through EoD. I'll definitely give it a shot. thanks!

@@benjaminmichaels1759 If you ever feel like trying out fractals with someone who can help you learn and knows a lot about fractals, I personally got into them through the guild I'm a part of, it's called WTNF and we host fractal trainings weekly or more depending on if players want it with no gear requirements or anything, if you're interested you can google wtnf and join up, you're free to learn and ask questions, it's a layed back casual pve mostly guild, I've been healing fractal CMs for a while now thanks to their help, feel free to join up or not, either way good luck playing EoD and the rest of the story!
