You can feel obvious input lag especially playing those SNK fighting games collections, such as KOF collection, Final Fury collection, etc. I guess it is because these collections are actually running a SNK arcade emulator itself, so it is an SNK NEOGEO emulator within a PS2 emulator, and the input lag issue gets amplified.
Just a tip, If you want crystal clear smoothed graphics you should go under internal resolution and set it to "4x Native" and turn on FXAA contrast sharpening to "sharpen and resize display resolution" you can also turn dithering to completely off to remove the muddy texture overlay, it looks absolutely amazing on my RTX laptop

This happened to me too. I downloaded the Stable version, and the same thing happened. Then I just did the direct install option on the Stable version, not expecting it to work, and it did. I’d try that. Something is up right now with the download versions.

I'm having problems reloading the game after a successful first load. Now it just simply has a black screen whenever i load the game and all of my attempts to trouble shoot seem to have not worked. Any one else had this problem?

You must be new to the emulation scene. A quick Google search for BIOS and you will find boat loads for many systems. I was able to find a whole pack of PS2 BIOS for USA / EU / JPN.

Weird that there's no option, but you can setup a controller again on Settings > Controllers > Controller Port 1

Could be the Bluetooth of your computer, try connecting with a cable and see if it still disconnects

That happens when setting a higher resolution, some games don't support that well and you get the vertical lines
