Now all we have to do is get Legend to test out 19 Grail Reliques. Edit: i had stat points all over the place because i was initially going to make 19 Harpies before deviating to make the scourgerunner stack.
Legend : If you're going into melee and you've still got ammo left my advice to you is turn fire off. 10 secs later : some chariots are still shooting and causing massive friendly fire. Legend : wtf did I just say ?
Thanks Legend. It was a really enjoyable video to watch. But, in my opinion, the legendary lord is also a bit important in this type of doomstack. I mean, if we were attacking Alith Anar with this army, I think it would have halved someone with every shot of his arrow. So it's a good doomstack against legendary lords who aren't archers or wizards. And your videos are so enjoyable, thank you for the effort. :))))))🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
12:30 The reason for the difference in fatigue is because veterancy give fatigue reductions. Running consumes 4 fatigue a second, but being rank 7 reduces the consumption by 3, so they are only consuming 1 fatigue a second. Meanwhile, RoR do not get the fatigue reduction despite effectively being rank 9, so the RoR and lord are getting tired 4x faster than all other units in the army.
It's a reason he is admired by the community. His commitment and dedication is inspiring; he is also extremely candid about his workload and streams. Most importantly, he doesn't hide behind false pretenses; if he doesn't want to do something he won't enjoy then he won't do it. I hope he gets more recognition.
it's a bit of an illusion due to australian time but he is working at usually the most fucked up australian hours to get you content at a time that works for you
I'd give it an extra point just for being an early game doomstack. This was turn 41 and already leveled up. Rakarth on his dragon and a fire mage could handle most of the siege battles. It's definitely something I'll try. I rarely go past turn 150 so I don't even bother building the late game doomstacks.
This is why I was so sad that the Ice Wolf Chariots in the doomstack I submitted didn't have 360 degree fire. The skirmishing power of massed chariots is pretty great.
This would have been lethal, if while you were orbiting their force picking of their cavalry, there was a fire wizard casting flame storm on the bulk of their infantry and ranged units in the middle.
My main issue with hydra spam is that they do not have enough leadership. My hydra stack routed during the siege of Corounne with two full stacks of enemies. Though, it did good in auto-resolve.
There should be button for friendly fire... I mean I might not wanna shot my own elite units... but damn skaven-slaves? cmon friendly fire still counts as-as a kill in that scenario!
Also, this army would be exactly as good if it was commanded by a High Beastmaster. Rakarth has the exact same stats on a Scourgerunner Chariot. Legend barely used Rakarths skills either. Minus the Suppressed!
A few flying wizards and a dragon or 2 for mobile shock damage could make this a pretty good army overall. Chariots are trash in siege and great in field, dragons are meh in field and great in siege. Dragons can also help apply "faster stronger enemies" morale debuff.
One thing that bothers me about Rakarth's Scourgerunner mount is that for some reason he only gets half the ammo the High Beastmaster and the basic Scourgerunner units get which means you have 24 shots and then he's just a very mediocre chariot lord.
all memes aside if you put a Fire Wizard in this and put Rakarth on bracchus for the siege attacker this looks pretty good. might have to autoresolve Sieges tho
That was a pretty good one. The whole tactic of chopping bits off to attack is a properjob strategy in real life. In the winter war between Finland and Russia the Finnish used to attack convoys along roads and they likened it to chopping a log. Seperate the enemy into small bite sized chunks. CHOMPCHOMP very tasty humanmeat. lol. Cheers ledge
Maybe if you're against lots of enemy chariots/cavalry and if you have firepower superiority, *Corner Camping* should be a way to go. What about our cavalry you say? send them off as distraction or cut out their missile troops(archers, artillery and so on) early on to get you less damaged.
Most armies on a field battle are going to be useless against this build. Unless you go up against a slayer/thunderer/cannon army this will win pretty easily. Hence the high score.
They had some horse archer, calvary, shadow walkers, and archer; the maps as legend said was also small so not really useless against they had a small advantage it was just the AI is dumb
Balanced armies are ONLY more difficult to use IF you can't pause the game to issue orders. And that only happens on Legendary, I've played Total War games since Shogun I. I've never played on Legendary and never will because all it does is enable CA's refusal to fix their AI and make a sensible control interface so that the player can easily control large armies in real time. Instead of working to make the AI perform better, they simply handicap the player more and more and give the AI more and more cheats, so it can win without being any smarter. And if you can't pause the game during battles that simply makes the player struggle to give sensible orders via CA's crappy command interface. Even autoresolve is totally broken and gives wrong results much of the time. If every player demanded better performance from the AI instead of being satisfied with CA simply handicapping the player more and more, they would have devoted more resources to programming better AI long ago. But, they don't care because players don't penalize them for emphasizing graphics over gameplay mechanics.
Warhammer 40k will have Squig ponies now. I thought Age of Sigmar was weird 40k was like Hold my Beer. I bring this up for no reason other than I just found that to be more crazy than this build.
Without advanced dodging skills you'll lose this against missile based armies, especially against gunpowder. Edit: Beside that, it looks fun! I'll try.
What if they make a difficulty above legendary called Legend of Total War, and they just program all the races to exclusively cheese the player in addition to cheating.
All enemy arrows are homing (to prevent you from wasting their ammo). All enemy artillery cannot cause friendly fire (to prevent the "shoot your own troops" problem. Your spells now have a cap on how many entities they can damage (to prevent magic-killing blobs). Your regeneration cap is reduced to 1/4 (to prevent life magic from keeping you alive). All enemies with shields have +30% block chance (to stop missile units from being good). Armies spawned by rebellions no longer give you XP or cash (to stop you farming your own rebellions). Anything I missed?
@@Karnatil I was thinking more like AI doomstacks, they use warp bomb masterfully, use magic effectively, spam archers in factions that its appropriate for, use trait farming effectively, and all the race specific cheese are utilized.
Chariots ? Not for me thx, too many downsides. - can’t deal with multiple armies (inevitable soon or later in VH or L) - can’t siege (an other army doing it in parallel increases significantly the cost value of chariot army) - totally unrealistic how they are manoeuvrable in TW (irl antiquity, manoeuvrability of chariots was mediocre, basically one charge and stuck, 10% managing to do a 180 and flee, plus vulnerable to missiles and not able themselves to do skirmish better than light archer cav) - very unforgiving, micromanaged constantly, and time consuming units to end battles, need to find right momentum all the bloody time, wich becomes quickly boring. And if you are too impatient, you immediately pay the price and take lots of dmg. - 7500gold is avrg for a full stack, but with all these weaknesses it’s not cheap. Then nah, thx. Probably the less worthy type of units in all WH2TW, needs Troy broken early stats to make them ok or worthy. So, not happening often but 8/10, not really agree... definitely too kind for chariots imo. in normal or as long as you don’t face constant outnumbering forces, and until turn50/80 or so, then yeah. but soon as you meet up tiers units, it’s underpowered. So, I guess I will still hate chariots and never ever again recrute them lol 😂 (except Grom himself maybe, but he is kinda the exception confirming the rule for me) GG nonetheless, even if I smell it becomes boring pretty fast for legend as well on the end. 😜
