War Thunder is a highly detailed vehicle combat game containing over 2,000 playable tanks, aircraft and ships spanning over 100 years of development. Immerse yourself completely in dynamic battles with an unparalleled combination of realism and approachability.
This campaign is going relatively well so far, but the biggest issue is working around Itza - I don't want to declare war on them because they're so strong and well-positioned, but they also keep eating up my territory. In the next episode, I'll focus on taking down Rakarth and hopefully get the short campaign victory.

In regards to Grail Knights, their power is the Perfect Vigor. Vigor applies some *brutal* penalties.
Also they always have the Blessing of the Lady.
And their insane charge bonus... They do soooo much damage, even against armored targets. Grail guardians and questing knights cannot match their dps, but can work in tandem with grail knights, as anvils
Basically this ^
You can run them in tandem with lesser cavalry to have a devastating charge, have them be the last to retreat of the group (perfect vigour) and then have the 2nd wave of cavalry charge.
So while the 2nd wave hits and the 1st wave is regrouping for a second charge, the Questing Knights are probably winded and recovering for about 5-15 seconds (or more depending on how long it took to disentangle them) when your Grail Knights finally join them, and they have perfect vigour, they turn around and you start the 3rd charge with the same units.
If you are bad at micro, but are only playing cavalry, have 3 waves of charging doesn't sound terrible.
Each wave has 1 hero, 1 Grail Knight (preferably in the middle), 2-3 lesser knights, charge, disengage, 2nd wave, 3rd wave, rinse/repeat.
If for some reason the Grail Knights get surrounded and can't disengage, that's simple, they have perfect vigour. They can stay in the fight indefinitely, then just continue crashing waves. :)

Which is actually hilariously bugged in TW3 and units with perfect vigor performed worse than units without it. I think they might have patched it, but I remember a certain mod that fixed it was pretty much mandatory for MONTHS
bretonnian main here, easiest way to lvl up to knights vow is to take the pledge to order, and then just build and unbuild all the 1 turn buildings, youll get several lords with knights vow by turn 10
That's what I ended up doing to get it - I just don't really need more than two lords atm.
The fact that this kind of quality editing, personality and gameplay isn't a 300k channel is mind boggling to me. Insanely high quality stuff.

@@codelearner383 both of those are technically easy. Boris is almost always built with just about only bear riders and depending on how strict your definition of a ranged unit is Katarin can use either iceguard, strigoi or kozars. Obviously kozars are the worst. You could also use korishes as those are ranged cavalry.

I was hoping for a crab only Vampirate campaign but cav only is great too.
Edit: I think Prophetesses and Damsels are fine this campaign because they can ride horses
Casters could be allowed, but honestly I don't need them. Magic would make this challenge a bit too easy, so I won't be using it.

Awesome seeing such a wide array of units from this series. Trolls before peasant before cav really helps to keep things fresh.

i see this as the only optimal and competitive way of playing bretonia, love it ! btw breteonia has a really bad replenishment rate and the only good way to buff it up a notch is by defeating the Fey Enchantress.... 10% i believe it is. AAnd you dont suffer from supplielines so you can take multiple Lords with your main army and just level them up and by that gaining the vows and having better armies to besiege settlements as an added benefit

I just started a campaign with Alberic and he's pretty strong. Knights autoresolve pretty well.
I rushed the tech for better relationship with lizardmen and after clearing away the pirates and demons I set sail for Estalia with a massive completely undefended farm economy left behind because everyone left on the continent was my friend.
YES. I’ve noticed that the AI does this little “dance” around in force march where they are barely out of range. You end up spending 2-3 turns chasing them around.
It feels so frustrating. I don’t feel like I’m going to war with an army and conquering in a fantasy game.
I hope it gets changed.

I recently did a play through with this lord, I allied with the hunter guy and got into war with the lizardmen, big mistake. It was such a tough campaign, but this way of going about it; is a much smarter way to play it lol

I will always think it’s funny that medieval tw 2 has better charge/cav mechanics that the entire warhammer trilogy
More sad than funny. Melee horse (or similar mass) Cav is really underwhelming in all TW WH titles, which is really unfortunate. A rear charge should be crushing to morale and devastating in melee. All a rear charge does in TW WH is a minor leadership penalty and quite an insignificant charge most of the time, with models getting stuck in the middle of the enemy formation scuffing up your cycle charges or subsequent movement commands. Sadge.

The idea is that with this strategy (using only cavalry) armies should be in ambush mode all the time. Attacking with cavalry from ambush is the coolest thing in the game

Challenge Idea: I know you've already done two greenskin campaigns, but how about a squig only run? So just squig herds and hoppers.
Squig and Spider only are both on my radar - I want to at least a few other campaigns first though so that I'm not just constantly playing Greenskins haha.

I am not sure that Lance formation is usefull. For me it just makes unit much harder to control and bonuses does not compinsate for that...

For chariots only high elves would be better. They get them as mounts on most heroes and have mid and high tier chariots instead of just early game ones.

Grail knights are shock Calvary. Their base stats aren’t too different but their charge bonus is
I've tried Bretonnia a few times, and man, the cavalry micro just kicks my ass more than the enemies. I don't know how people do it.
I'd personally recommend going for grail gaurdians and/or hippos if that still counts as cav in your eyes as both are insanely fun

all cav army feels like you either just charge over the top of everything or you watch as bad guys slowly stab each model to death and I hope you continue to run over all in your path!
Grail Guardians are your best anvil-like cavalry. They are better questing knights with an inbuilt blessing of the lady and perfect vigor.
Grail Knights are Knights of the Realm on steroids and have anti-large.
Well this is quite curious army limitation, hah! I am looking forward to more, and curious what the next campaign is going to go!
Legend of Total War had a really interesting 10 (20?) turn guide for Alberic that involved the most hilariously convoluted strategy of making your enemies attack each other and then picking off the scraps that remain. With almost no units at all, using that strategy you could get rid of Khorne, the Skaven, and a lizardmen faction in like 10 turns tops and be set up really well to coast along. The funny thing is it definitely would have worked for this challenge even with using just cavalry. One of the key features of the strategy was convincing I think it was Khorne to attack one of the lizardmen, reinforcing their army, and then attacking them with as much friendly fire as possible so that they were weak when you war dec them the next turn. Sadly that part wouldn't have worked since I don't think you can friendly fire with cav (unless you consider the yeoman archers as cav for this challenge) but it's a super interesting video and I recommend giving it a looksie to see what parts of that strategy you could adopt for this challenge if you were to ever hypothetically retry it
For a real . . . . interesting challenge, try Dwarf Miners only.

@@BrilliantStupidity I did a Drycha run in WH2 that at least her army never used a non dryad/tree. It's pretty fun and fitting. Wiped out all the elves like she'd want.

Haven't watched the video yet, but salute to playing Alberic with knights because I absolutely despise playing on jungle maps. Even less with large units lol
I would love to see you play beastmen with gors/ungors only. I feel like there's enough unit variety to be enjoyable but still difficult.

Oh yes, yes you can. Actually, that's basically what you want to be doing with Bretonnia anyway, full cav! And Bretonnia has some of the best cavalry choices in the game, you even have cavalry that can legit hold down a frontline, almost like monstrous infantry.
And to top it off, Alberic has a really damn good starting position. It's not too difficult to take over the entire continent for yourself, and once you do you will have a very easy to defend territory since you're basically hugging a corner, and a massive economy. Alberic's campaign is some of the most fun I had in Warhammer, you'll enjoy it!
I hope to see some good horse sandwitch moments. The enemy models will be flying!

I didn't know that you can recreate the Rohan Experience in Total War Warhammer 3.
Honestly as Bretonnia I almost do this anyway. Early on ye you kinda need peasants so the start is harder, but by the time you get questing knights you can use only them and win most battles VERY well with autoresolve alone. And if you want to go up to questing to make it even easier you can.

You could try and use a strategy that I read about where you would have the first row of knights charge in and then immediately after they hit the enemy, move the unit to one side in time for a second row of knights to hit the enemy. (I say this having ever played a Total War game).
Any man who puts himself through the torture of a cav only playthrough on TWWH deserves a sub. My condolences on your loss of brain cells sir.
13:30 A little known secret of game development. It is often both.
Since brettonia can have multiple lords without the supply penalty, it's often a good ideal to recruit lords early on so you can start them working on their vows early. Makes it a lot easier later on when trying to recruit the higher end cav later on

Easy challenge now sense the change. Back before the Cav update is when I did mine campaign using nothing but Cav as the French boys maybe a couple arty and monks.
