BANNERLORD ARCHER ONLY CHALLENGE IS BROKEN - Bannerlord is Perfectly Balanced game with no exploits

- Welcome to todays episode of trying to beat a game in a way the developers would logically never allow as we try and defeat massive opponents and castles using an army comprised entirely of archers who can exploit the perfectly balanced world of mount and blade bannerlord to become immortal and defeat all opponents before letting them get close. So can you beat bannerlord with only archers or will spiff need to find a different overpowered strategy to beat the game beyond this seemingly impossible challenge... Wait he is using exploits? Well I guess that means this challenge will be perfectly balanced and surprisingly easy ;)
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.
So sit back relax and enjoy this Mount and blade bannerlord archer only challenge! How on earth can one english bugger beat bannerlord with only ranged units!! Its the most overpowered build yet.

Spiff: You shall not run away from a battle, coward.
Also Spiff: *Press retreat button.*
I found out about this in Warband. It was especially crazy because some of battlefields around the Rhodok and Kergit areas was just cliffs, and of course you could place you archers in the middle of them due to physics not being a thing.
And of course enemies just stay behind the wall in siege.
Wait, you can just press "retreat" and reset the battle *when you are defending a siege*? Are you running with the castle on your back or something?
That's what I was about to say. A retreat from a static defense like a town or castle should be a surrender of said place. Either way, the retreat button should really be removed for field battles as well, since there's already another retreating mechanic that makes a LOT more sense, which is the same the AI has to use to retreat. If you run off the side of the map, it counts as a retreat same as hitting the button, only that you have to physically make it off the map. There's also a troop command to have your army do the same. The button is literally a flat out cheat that's been built into the vanilla game.
@@ScientistMan96 This exploit would have been a good tactic if just the physcial retreat was possible.
@@ismet1664 This exploit wouldn't have worked most of the time without the magic button. Half of the exploit is plinking off cavalry with arrows, and then just teleporting off the battlefield when that got near the lines. If you had to physically run off the map, archer only wouldn't work due to the first cav unit you run across being able to run down your army. MAYBE it would work if the first thing you did was move your troops to the nearest edge of the map and waited there, so it's only a few feet to retreat, but even that would require that you're faster than the enemy army which isn't often the case if your against bandits and the like, and again cavalry would reach you, now with your backs turned, well before you got to the edge. Along with the fact AI doesn't fire on the move so until your reformed at the edge of the map, the enemy has free reign to charge at you without return fire.
@@ScientistMan96 Not of you're a Khuzait horse archer. God, how I love playing as the Khuzait 😂
ROFLMAO!!!! Zorgdub, that was hilarious!
I often dream about the Spiff god arriving at my house and exploiting my perfectly balanced life and generating infinite wealth for me.
Unfortunately aspects of this exploit don’t work anymore.
They changed the smithing system so you ONLY unlock parts for the category you’re crafting.
That said, 2 handed Maces are completely broken.
The base mace head you get starts out selling for 300, I turned my starting 1000 into about 20,000 before moving onto the Mallet head once I unlocked it.
After you get the mallet head (1 wrought iron, 2 hardwood, 1 charcoal) that sells for 800 base.
Mine sell for up to 1100 now. I’m now up to 125k and I am about level 7. Full army of upgraded horse archers 85 strong, and I can always fall back to smithing loops if money becomes a problem.
Onira is still a great place to start. Other places have more hardwood, but Onira has Pugios and throwing daggers. They give you boat loads of steel, iron, wrought iron, and fine steel.
I can confidently say that smithing is still completely broken and is essentially a money printing operation.
You CAN still get the bent razor head, but you need to smelt down or make polearms to do so. And they’re a money sink until you unlock the part. (Edit*) the Billhook head for polearms is also worth a ton to sell, so it’s a good intermediary step between the money sink polearms to unlock parts, and the godly bent razor head)
But, it doesn’t matter, because with basically any amount of gold, you can print out infinite money via smithing 2H maces for dirt cheap materials.

Always thought this was just a meme thing... Until I basically bankrupted three cities by selling a very large two handed cleaver. I now have over 250k sitting in my purse and I am abandoning all reason and just becoming a smithy god to acquire more money.
The Spiffing brit: "Isn't that just visually nauseating"
Mean while all Swedes looking at the blue and yellow flag and immediately exits browser.
Ah yes, smithing, the most broken thing in that game. I was making polearms worth up to 186k and then buying everything in each city, what a wonderful feature.
Should make another bannerlord video, quite enjoy these. Tut tut good lad! Keep it up!
The Harpoon head on the Javelins despite being one of the lower-tier heads also happens to provide the second highest damage on them while taking up one Iron. The highest damage head on the Javelins is the Thine Fine Steel Hewing Spear Head which requires 2 Fine Steel to make.
Interestingly enough, the shafts themselves all cost the same but some of them cause a lot more damage than others. Right now (September 10th, 2020), at max Smithing, the Mahogany Javelin Shaft is always the best option but if you lack that things get very strange. The Tree Branch is the second-best shaft. Yes, the thing that looks completely stupid provides the second greatest amount of value.
It's also important to note that on Javelins the 2nd slot and 4th slot provide no bonus damage (and thus, no value) but consume additional resources. Basically a waste.
Day 75 of asking Spiff to play Battle Realms. Lord Spiff, I guess we are 3/4 there? (Loved the vid)
I like your strategy.
It’s effectively the Norman strategy at the battle of Hastings. They pretended to flee, were chased by some of the Saxons, turned around, and slaughtered them, they did this twice, with it working both times, before running uphill and slaughtering the remaining Saxons. This is one of the few cases where the side with the high ground lost, and it was because of sheer gullibility.
This video is the just Simon Viklund’s “Steal from the rich, give to myself” but in a game where you can screw up a nation’s gdp
*legimately everyone else doing CK3*
Spiffing: Bannerlord, anyone?
He did one the other day before it was released.
Yos
To be fair, he also did like a six hour stream of CK3 with the Yogs lol
No one important has made any CK3 content recently
Now do this, but with all Khans Guard, you will literally be having army's 300 soldiers stronger than yours run away.
"This is a sickle on the end of a stick"
Idk fam, looks like a Titanite Catch Pole to me.
I see that you're a man of culture aswell.
Around 21:00 you EQUIPPED a polearm “so I can kill things” then escorted the caravan.
At 30:50 you SWUNG IT at an enemy.
Thus you failed the run. It was supposed to be Archery Only.
Archers only not archery only
>archer only
>challenge
you only get to pick one, archer OP
