Can I Survive 100 Days in Hardcore Survival Mode? - Perfectly Balanced Skyrim Challenge

- Welcome back to skyrim! Where today we set out on a second attempt of an impossible challenge! Can you beat the survive 100 days in skyrim hardcore challenge? The rules are simple, Legendary difficulty skyrim with survival mode but the added twist that you are not allowed to equip any Armor or weapons. This is the hardest possible challenge skyrim can offer. You are effectively playing at 1 hp and almost anything will kill you and fail the run. Ontop of that in survival mode you must eat and sleep similarly to an indie survival game. You must also balance temperatures which in the cold northern lands of skyrim is rather impossible.
Mod Pack Used: next.nexusmods.com/skyrimspec...
So sit back and watch as the spiffing brit tests to see if Skyrim is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits or surviving 100 days of skyrim hardcore is a task that is simply too impossible for this pro exploiter!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced gameplay series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold and infinite money all in a fantastic montage. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.

This was the most spiffing thing of the week

This is such an enjoyable series. It's so fun watching Spiff try and work through a game WITHOUT using excessive amounts of cheese.
He says game is on legendary, wich it obviously isn't. Why be decieving?
@@Kostadin_Arolski Yea it's definitely too forgiving to be legendary, more likely he is on expert.
@@Kostadin_Arolski he said that he overhauled the combat using mods. Most of them adjust damage scaling etc. That is why there is a difference in how much damage is being dealt/received.
So playing like a plebeian, you mean 😂
@@KainaX122 He just wants to survive the 100 days and fun with it. Why do you guys gotta try to piss him off or call him a lair🤔🤔
Spiff: "The safest route to a new town is the main road..."
Also the main road: "Goblins, goblins everywhere!"
Which is weird since Goblins don't live in Skyrim.
*Goblinslayer has entered the chat*
The world is littered by "random encounter" spawn points and less random "leveled enemy" spawn points. While roads tend to be less dense with such points, they still usually have a few between towns. So technically it is statistically safer to travel by roads, but long time players know a lot of these road points by heart and know when to stray away from the road a bit if they want to avoid ANY confrontation
@@Makujah_ I was actually surprised to see Spiff get surprised by those tutorial wolves. Those are always there, they're 100% scripted, they exist to introduce the disease symptom by giving you Rockjoint.
So not only Ysolda had to raise a child on her own she had to see her child walk the same path as her late husband, thats rough
Skill issue
25:18 Fun fact: That "staff of charming" is actually a staff of fury, which is hilarious to me.
He probably tried to charm the wolves but ended up making them more angry instead.
And tried again and again in panic, retreating to the top of that pillar to try and excape. xD
Tried to pull a reverse doom
I was really hoping for a part 2 please make this a series
E
Yes
Series! Yassssssss!
Same view here.
Same here
Absolutely love how he managed to accidentally pull of a "fire burning through door while unimaginable violence occurs on the other side" cartoon gag on Skyrim
Ah yes, the well known long time classic...
@@Chicanery_Artifice I mean the underlying concept absolutely is. XD
That is a new one for me.
The best part is, of all the mods he added, the goblins were actually from the base game. They were added in Anniversary Edition 🤣
Same as the hagraven healing
@Colin Deal it is now
Not quite, those were riklings. I remember being so confused with that one, and the "reveler" .... great, now I need to look up what the rikling name is based on.
@@brandenlumley4056 No, those are the goblins from the creation club. They're from Oblivion.
Ahhh.. they're paid mods -_- Welp, no reason to ever get that, as I already paid for Skyrim, SSE on console, plus LE/SSE on pc (HEAVILY discounted for SSE)
It is actually a mod called "You are not the dragonborn". After you bring the dragonstone back, it just doesn't give you the next quest because it involves a dragon.
19:15 has to be the hardest I've laughed in a Spiff video in a long time. Just him watching the door listening at the explosions telling Marcurio that he's doing a great job is the peak of comedy.
I laughed just remembering this moment
This reminded me of in space with Markiplier when you throw him though the door and close it. All that was missing was the scream of CAPTAIN!
He even edited the music to be muffled like it's on the side of marcurio
"the peak of comedy"
Wow, you really take being easily amused to a whole new level, huh?
Now it's time for Leglass III to avenge his father and grandfather. He's pretty upset so he's just gonna grab a big axe and go to town on his enemies
Or skip couple of generations and play as Leglass VI or something?
"Having always been ridiculed for their family "fame", they finally had enough and decided to do something about it."
@@Makapaa I like the way you think 👍
Nah, let him build up his legacy.
I feel like we're going to eventually meet him down the road, we need to see each generation's hero, until Leglass 28 "the careful" manage to complete his family destiny !
Maybe it’s a job for Leglassa, granddaughter of Leglass…
God, it's been years and I STILL remember that Telrav bastard. I was yelling, "NO SPIFF! IT'S A TRAP!!".
I love how he doesn't realize the two speech checks at the riften gate are both passable with starting speech skill, and the intimidate option doesn't start a fight.
Plus he can just swim over to the docks and go in through there
He probably knows bro. He knows everything
@@TheCaesarion Based on the number of times he fired his arrow into the floor because he was holding a shot ready and the enemy died... no.
When using the LAL mod I've had it where you fail all speech attempts. I'm assuming it's because it fucks with the progression of the main quest and you can end up it rifts without even starting it (talking to the jarl. The script just fails your persuasion attempt as a result. Never had it happen at the whiterun gate tho
@@TheCaesarion Man didn't know what a Daedroth was
I'm not sure which mod he uses but I have one that makes it not that easy as well and you actually do fail the Riften one at level 1. And no, you can't get through the docks because it's locked and you have a guard sending you to the front gate.
That said, he probably could have tried to go to jail but perhaps did not want to risk dying in the process.
Seeing Spiff playing the game as intended is so novel that it's so enjoyable. Pleas more
That's not how it's intended to be played! He didn't even do a fortify restoration loop.
This is the most invested I’ve felt in a Skyrim story. Please do more
If thats the case you might enjoy 2kliksphilips stories as well he has a few very good skyrim videos
you should add the mod for this series called End Times which means Alduin WILL literally eat the world after a certain amount of days if you don't defeat him in the allotted time (1 year is default, but you can change it via MCM) but for this challenge, set it to 99 days, so in addition to surviving, you have to actually beat the game during the duration. Just thought it would add an objective in addition to survival for our entertainment. 🙂
That’s actually a built in feature. If you download enough mods, your world will eventually be corrupted and destroyed if you play it long enough. I think I should maybe have less mods because half my games have been corrupted if I play them too long
Can you just.. pretend the ending didn't happen? I really want to see a full playthrough of this
Seeing someone fall for Telrav’s scheme the first time is just glorious, and it’s even better during a survival challenge
I took the quest, but then I went and climbed up to High Hrothgar, did a couple quests, and many days later I remembered "oh that dude is still waiting" and discovered it was a trap XD
@@akechijubeimitsuhide conveniently after becoming the all-powerful dragonborn I assume
I did this quest too, but by the time I got it I was already a powerful archer and also a werewolf so...yeah those bandits didn't last long
@@iNC0GNEGRO Oh yeah, I usually do that before I even enter Bleak Falls Barrow. Until recently I didn't know the troll on that snowy little section inside isn't always a troll XD
I get the feeling he knows this game inside and out, he just plays along for the story :3
This needs to become a series. I really want to see the adventure of Leglass Jr. Jr.
That would be Legless III
And then Legolas Jr. Jr. Jr.
What if it’s Leglass Jr.’s pet iguana that got covered in ooze and grew up a la ninja turtle style and seeks vengeance on the assassin that took his masters life?
Leglas the third
Thank you for your time bro...
I can't wait for 102 day challenge. Goddamn greatest content of all time.
I don't just want to see 102 days - I want to see a livestream of it! Yes, every minute of it, every step of it! =D
Or maybe a 1 vs 1 to see who get their side of the war to win - with you obviously siding with the glorious empire, and your adversary for some reason or another choosing those barbaric Stormcloaks! Yeah, that seems like fun =)
Sure doing it for charity then in December
@@thespiffingbrit *emperor Palapatine voice* DO IT!
@@thespiffingbrit My goodness, these are going to be the best holidays in quite some time! =D
@@casvandijck9338 I think the obvious choice for an enemy would be an american. And there's your reason.
The fight against the Hagraven at 19:10 was absolute comedy gold. Spiff staring at the closed door while you hear explosions and Marcurio screaming on the other side absolutely sent me
*Explosions* Marcurio: Did you hear something?
Did anyone else realize Spiff could have just walked to the other gate at Riften where the guard will let him in for free? That's interesting to me.
@@CircumcisionIsChildAbuse You can't enter that way unless you've done the shakedown. The guard tells you do use the other gate. You can enter through the fishery, though, which unlocks the city.
This video series takes me back to a time where I viewed gaming videos with awe and wonder. For the first time in years I am actually inspired by a gaming video to try it for myself. Thank you for this series Spiffing Brit, and thank you for putting the modpack in the description :). Please for the love of tea, make more of these videos. I don't care if it gets less views, I think everyone who watches this utterly enjoys it.
Closing the door on marcurio explosions instantly showing through the door made me laugh so hard
As a hint, you can put away your weapon with an arrow drawn and under tension to save it without firing-very important skill for a stealth archer to know!
You can also click "block"
Just need to press R
Seeing more of this series would be an absolute treat. Skyrim never felt so enthralling
Hey Spiff, part of the modpack includes a mod that improves the pace of the story, so instead of Dragon Rising triggering automatically you have to give Farengar some time to study the Dragonstone and then go speak to him to trigger the remainder of the main storyline.
What mod does that?? I got 350 mods any still haven't experience this. Only ezPG mod collection has something like that I am aware of.
@daniellittle3249 I'm curious as well. They had this in Morrowind where you had to come back (or wait) a few days before you could continue the quest. I don't remember this being the case for Oblivion or Skyrim, and it honestly feels more immersive this way.
Hey, these videos are quickly becoming comfort videos for me. And I wanted to say thank you.
I'm autistic, and whenever worry builds up in me I need something to feel safe, so I go back to things that are familliar and comforting.
This video, aswell as the first 100 days, is just that. I've lost count on how many times I've re-watched them these past couple of days.
So thank you. Thank you for making such wonderful content.
I cant wait for Legless' second cousin to try and avenege his family. Honestly one of my favourite series in a while.
Or his son. They are elves who live for thousands of years, so Legless might be a great grandfather now.
Definitely make this into a series; I'd love to see a 3rd attempt!
"This is my comment."
―Myself
can we turn off drunk walk? the constant wobbling is sickening
This is such a great idea and fun series! I really hope you keep it up (with changing rule-sets if that's what you want to). And a Vampire survival would be nice at some point, could be fun to see in Oblivion too.
This series is great, love the feel of the skyrim world and how everything is a real threat, really like the format and length of the video, keep up the amazing work, looking forward to the next one!
Seeing Spiff play a game "by the way it's meant to be played" brings a very spectacular experience to his viewer, love 'em!
I love this series!
Thanks brian! They are really fun to record and make. It takes a few weeks to pull off but it is worth it
@@thespiffingbrit first off I was thick it’s another TG bot…
E
@@thespiffingbrit maybe some day spif play fallout 4 on survival whiteout exploits.
@@shoutshout3575 The problem with fallout 4 is that making guns is more fun then the game proper.
Spiff plz make more. This video made me feel warm inside. Dealing with a lot of shit that honestly mentally draining. Your videos are actually fun and good to watch. I feel like I’m a kid again
Would absolutely love more of these videos! Love the content Sir Spiff! Keep up the amazing work.
Definitely ready for 102 days. Let's see if you can survive longer this time
Yes.
What an emotional rollercoaster this series is. I'm deeply invested in the Legless clan.
Damn Illia is actually a good companion to have. It sucks she died but she has some pretty high level ice spells.
Keep making these! Loved the new world (mods for visuals and extra creatures) and that you allowed yourself to have weapons!
You HAVE to make this a series! It’s just so funny! It makes me want to try something like it myself.
This is genuinely my favorite series you have ever made! PLEASE make it a series!!
I love this series and already very invested. I hope to see more of these videos!
The funniest part about the “Staff of Charming” is that it was actually a staff of fury, a type of staff that sends those inflicted by it into a ferocious rage, which is probably why the user died in the first place.
yeah there's one item in each of the Elder Scroll games that's basically a magical tragedy/joke. My favorite was Morrowind's Boots of Blinding Speed.. got you around real quick if you don't see where you are going LOL They also had Icarian Flight scrolls which boosted your jump so high, it caused lethal fall damage.
So he thought it was a staff of furry
@@azarinevil the boots were the best. You make a spell of resist magica 90-100% for 1 second. Cast then equip/unequip the boots until you resist the blind effects. Then u speedy and can see.
@@angsern8455 it was a staff of fury, but he thought it was a staff of charming, leading to him using it in hopes of charming the wolves, but actually making them more ferocious.
@@grimpatriarch I know, I used furry instead of fury
Like father, like son. Truly, a deadly questline.
Just wanted to say I appreciate that you were honest and didn't fake it. Actually nice to see you own the fail. Great video!
Love the narration and character building. Would love more!!!
I love the bow that the Assassin that killed Spiff has. It is a bow that makes you invisible for 45 seconds after drawing it and the bow itself is an ebony bow if I recall so it is pretty powerful itself.
This bow literally made me a stealth archer.
I've never understood why people like them, but I do now.
You're probably using At Your Own Pace AIO which has specific triggers to continue certain quest lines.
For example to continue the main quest from this point you would have to ask Faringar if he's seen any dragons.
Comment so Spiff sees this.

Love it! these are so much fun, skyrim is an endless source of joy!
Absolutely love it! Looking forward to Attempt3 !
It was certainly entertaining watching the adventures of Marcurio and his faithful sidekick. 😁 The last survival video was great and this did no disappoint either. The tension feels real in these challenges. Also, I appreciate that you kept them honest and showed your character deaths instead of just doing some editing magic and going "Ah ha, I totally did it and survived first try because I am a God Gamer!"
It sucks that both deaths I felt very confident going into the situations just to get absolutely blindsided. Honestly wouldn't have it any other way
This is a genuine joy to watch. I'm desperately hoping for an 8 hour video where you make the challenge.
Awesome video! I really enjoy your work and this has been one of my favorite ones yet 😂😂😂Please make this a series!!
The Legless Clan will ultimately prevail!
Incredible laughs, timeless quality. Love this video. I've always avoided Survival Mode for a full playthrough (having to find carriages instead of fast travel? oh man, so much pain). Can't imagine doing it with make enemies harder mods and no enchanting. I've always been a huge fan of:
1) Run to Whiterun
2) Make Enchanting Potion
3) Enchant Ring with Alchemt
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 about 100 times
5) Create smithing ring
6) Become a dragonborn god and kill everything in 1 hit by enchanting gear and improving it to 6-7 figures of %
Please keep making this series. Inspires me to play Skyrim over and over again
I'm downloading for another run
I am prepared to watch every installment of this until you actually accomplish the title goal. These are hilarious and the additions for episode 2 were great and interesting. Keep them coming, spiff.
I'm actually enjoying these videos. Thanks Spiff!
I am always up for continuing this video thread!! I think these are super fun! 😊
Holy crap. Another one and I see it a minute after it's posted. I'm calling 57 days and accidental death to cliff physics
not accidental death to horse physics?
@@thespiffingbrit Is that you, Mr Hands?
@@noonecareswhatyouthink Muhahahahaha!
This series should continue until it is completed. I am ridiculously invested.
Been loving this series, thank you!
Such a great series this is turning into. Yes please keep making more.
Can't wait to see "Can You Survive One Hundred AND TWO Days in Skyrim?!" when it inevitably comes out! Loving this series that is slowly turning into a Corpse Windmill 🤣
The suffering of Spiff is well worth watching. More please!
Love it! Really fun to watch.
I love your videos man, just so funny. Keen for more Skyrim content!
As others have said, please make this a series! Loved these past two!
I absolutely want to see this become a series
This has turned into an epic generational tale! Something for the Skyrim history books. Would love to see volume 3!
this is my favorite spiff series in a while, please keep it going
On the one hand, i do like some of the skyrim challenges he's been doing. The 4 hunters thing was pretty cool. On the other hand though, i'm beginning to worry game devs are finally making exploit free games. It's been a while since he's done any infinite health, items, or money exploits.
Nah mate
Ha there will always be games with exploits especially if game devs rush their games out before they're actual debugged
@Josiah Kelly Man i hope so, those are the best part of their games. When Microsoft bought them, i was terrified they might make Bethesda use the unreal game engine and actually playtest their games. It looks like that's not going to be the case, but you never know.
@@randomtinypotatocried You'd think so, but then where are the new exploit videos? I'm just saying, that's what this channel is best known for. Maybe he should make two, one from stuff like this and one for the exploits.
His last video was a Victoria 3 exploit video. I just think there's been a drought of new, quality video games lately - especially of the kind that Spiff tends to play.
This is so fun, I hope it genuinely becomes a series
Absolutely love this!!! Please make it a series
Please keep making these. Very fun to watch.
This truly is the peak of Skyrim content! You've found yourself a new gold mine. I've never been so excited to see you play skyrim since your Reanu Keeves days and this is great and funny to see you truly challenge yourself.
Please do more 🙏
I LOVE these epically long Skyrim videos! I'm 100% here for a 102 day long survival in Skyrim!
Just waiting for Spiff to install the 24h day real-time mod. lol
I'd love to see you keep trying :) I love your videos! Thx for making them!
Haha this is awesome! You should totally continue this series! XD Also as a subtle suggestion, you should play as Marcurio to avenge his fallen companion Legolas II.
So, surprisingly with this mod, the bear isn’t in the starter cave and it’s just the 2 lads you choose to go with at the start, but very injured. If you skip the cave I’m pretty sure by default the storm cloak lad is the survivor
I love your spin on the 100 days Challenge! This episode felt like you were actually experiencing the world and was far more interesting than the last video. Can’t wait to see the next one!!!
This might be the way the game was meant to be played in the first place, or maybe just the fear of actual death makes us be more immersed, maybe a combination of both? Also that spiff is very good at entertainer!
I really enjoy these. Keep them coming!
Please do more of these. This is some of the best RUclips content I've ever seen.
Nice vid haven’t watched it yet
Nice! We are in the same boat.
Bruh
i agree
Nice comment. I did read it,but even if I didn't I would still think is a good one
Same
This is a great series!! It has a Morrowind like feel to it after all the self-nerfs and it's magnificent for that reason.
Yes, please make another! I rewatched this one multiple times.
I'd like to see more, I very much enjoy your gameplay/commentary on my free time between work days some days
This actually seems like the perfect way to play Skyrim.
A fresh cup of tea in my hand alongside a fresh Spiff video, absolute perfection.
I first read that as "A fresh cup of tea in my hand alongside a fresh spliff"
The most British stoner sentence ever haha
Great concept for a series. Keep it going for sure!
This was intense. Please keep these going.
Watching this series spikes my anxiety so much. Please do 100 more episodes of this at least.
Loving the 100 days Skyrim series, please make more of these videos.
I love this series. Please keep making them!
Please make another part to this. Loving the series :D
Don't think the bear is in those caves in alternate start mod. It's usually replaced by Hadvar and Ralof for you to pick who to save.
E
Its Ralof, but yeah those two seem to be a constant
It is Hadvar confirmed. No bear. Ralof is over by the wooden cart in that same part of the cave.
I've had it both not be there and be there with zero changes in mods. Just depends on if skyrim blesses you or not
@@GreenTheFae I dont doubt you for a second, my friend. It is Todd's vision, after all. I've started dozens of characters with various mods and even with no mods at all. The only time that bear has ever been somewhere he shouldn't be is with this funny little trick I discovered in the vanilla game.
When you get to that part of the cave your "buddy" will become your temporary follower and will never get mad at you. So I thought, why walk against a rock for 3 hours when i can just backstab this guy over and over for what I thought would be a shorter time? Sure enough, their AI bugs out alittle and I can repeatedly swing at them with a dagger and rapidly get sneak attacks gaining levels in Sneak rediculously fast.
"What about the bear?" you ask. It for some reason shimmys it's way to the very back of the cave.
This is probably my favorite skyrim content on RUclips - I absolutely love watching Spiff work through problems and build characters/stories in such a harsh/interesting environment. If he ever makes a video covering a full 101 days, I would watch it. Hell, I'd watch an unedited vod.
Thanks for the fantastic content :)
I just watched the first and second one back to back. Great series
Excellent video, I'd love to see a series!
