My family once bamboozled an estate agent with "Torquay" vs "Turkey" confusion, as it happens. We were trying to convince them to let us view a house in Surrey, and said we'd travelled all the way from Torquay (the one in Devon). However, since we're a bit melanin-ated, the estate agent assumed we'd come all the way from Turkey, took pity on us, and let us view the extra house. You've got to get some benefits from stereotypes sometimes :)
The fact I knew where Tromsø was not from any legitimate geographical source but from the Technical Difficulties episode „Down a bit from Tromsø“. Is that concerning for my general knowledge skills?

5:17 Hey Jay! I’m a Kansas citian. There’s actually two. Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri. The city straddles the state border, I’m from the Missouri side, which is more touristy.
How fun to see Map Men playing a game I've spent so much time on! Here are some Google Street View car metas to learn, from Game 1 Rounds 3-5: 3. Laos has limited Street View coverage in the cities of Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang, Savannakhet and Pakse. All except Vientiane can be recognized from the Google car's visible roof rack, which doesn't appear in Thailand or Cambodia (which have quite similar scripts). Furthermore, the city of Savannakhet can be recognized for being flat and having slightly red soil. Pakse also has red soil, even more so than Savannakhet, but it's also more hilly. 4. Switzerland can be recognized for having a lower Street View camera than other countries. Japan and Liechtenstein also have this feature, but Japan usually has a very different looking landscape. Differentiating Switzerland and Liechtenstein can be slightly more difficult, but as Liechtenstein was just added to Street View recently, all of its coverage is new and has a 2024 copyright marking. While a 2024 copyright isn't enough to rule out Switzerland, an earlier copyright is always enough to rule out Liechtenstein. 5. Bermuda also has a distinct black Google car. I haven't watched all the way to the end yet, but both Mark and Jay have realized the final place is in Scotland at this point. And if I were Mark, I'd completely throw this one.
