I did I think I replied to you on your other comment and sent you that video. It is the 14 inch post that I went with. I going with the 14 inch post I can fold the steps down completely in line with the actual post itself. It also gives me just a little bit more height advantage.
Lol nice… there is a benefit on having “stick length” it equals more gain per climb. I actually just go the 14” Shi1kar post. In three moves that would put me 1’ higher than the Shikar mini.
Any chance you could send me a copy of the order slip? I want the same exact setup. I love it. Also did you have to add the cam cleat manually or did you have it sent that way?

It becomes a handle to reach down and unseat the stick. It’s pretty handy actually. Not sure who the person was the first started doing this, but he should get a high five and a pat on the back lol.

so question about the versa button. How do you get the nut on the bolt for the versa button?
It should be long enough ti go thru the post and screw on the bolt.

Keeping the stick small makes sense. Why wouldn’t you just use a Wild Edge Step?
I’m not sure I would want to go the the knot tying process as I advance up the tree. The Schaefer cam cleat is the ticket.

I think they both work well but the Ultimaider is more adjustable so you cant go wrong there. The Ultimaider is a little heavier too though.

What was your reasoning with adding the top step?
I added it for an extra grab while climbing and plus it gives me 8 or 9 additional “ per climb. So in three moves I gained like 2.5’ in height.
