    Talked with someone tonight who just bought a new Chevy Trax. She has had nothing but trouble with it, and the dealer treats her like crap. Telling her to turn the features off if they don’t work. 😡
    She was saying that it was cheaper than other used cars on the lot.
    When American manufacturers put out crap and treat their customers poorly, it will just open doors for the Chinese and other imports.

      Seriously with the relatively free robot labor up and down the supply chain making cars is going to be about who can make the best car for less. The UAW could lobby to ban robots in car factories. That would end car production in the USA without equally stiff protection for automakers. This would of course put inferior US human assembled vehicles even further out or reach for most Americans. This is not the road to a needed prosperity.

    • @wooddavid8293
      @wooddavid8293 3 месяца назад +51

      Yup - Toyota, Honda and Nissan cleaned the US carmakers' clock in the mid 70s because the US brands were complacent and had quit trying to build affordable, good quality cars. May well happen again with Chinese cars. Ford, GM and what used to be Chrysler have been too busy selling expensive and inefficient trucks and SUVs to respond to an obvious and coming threat. EVs have been on the mass market for 13 years now. Sandy Munro has been warning the auto industry for years. If legacy makers fail or see their market share shrink, they did it to themselves. Just like the 1970s. I have no pity for their incompetence.

China is already selling a tons of consumers goods in the US which are supported by American Companies. American car companies can make affordable EVs but they refuse to make them. The hemorrhaging of money is directly related to lost sales and storage of unsold vehicles. The Waste of money by the automakers is unbelievable. You can’t have a 60,000 dollar vehicle sitting for a year and expect to make a profit. Interest and storage plus the lack of cash flow because of poor sales is unsustainable. If it wasn’t for the cash flow from the stock holders they would’ve folded a year ago. The average stock holder has no idea how much money they are losing until the stock market crashes. Very few people realize that they are losing money even when their stock value is still increasing quarterly. To get a better idea of what is happening you need to subtract the amount that you invested in your portfolio for that quarter. I don’t know of to many people who do this.

As of November 2021, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has recorded nine Tesla vehicle investigation recalls, with three of those related to potential fire risks. Newsflash… you won’t get a cheap car until vulture capitalism is stopped. It’s not the old days any more… investors used to buy and hold a company based on growth. Now it’s based on the next quarters dividends. Boeing is proof that you can’t get rid of regulators…what do you get? Hidden/omitted substantive material information that could’ve kept those 2 planes from crashing.

    It's funny when dealers explain why they bid up franchise dealers' vehicles over small dealers' vehicles... I'm a dealer out of Chicago, and I've went to auctions from the top of the Midwest to the bottom. I've seen vehicles from franchise dealers that had issues after issues and was a trade in... and not to mention the repo vehicles. Even when these vehicles run on a red light, dealers go crazy with the bids...and several of them bid on them without a test drive. I can show you post sales after post sales to prove that dealers for the most part are crash test dummies that follow the popular dealerships with blinders on at these auctions.

      And you're buying a device the CCP controls... If Ford can spy on you via the new ICE Mustang, you better believe these BYD's have all kinds of back-doors controlled by Beijing. Sync your phone with it? All your data and banking info is now in the hands of commies, lol. You'd have to be suicidal to buy one of these when the DoD predicts we'll be at war with the PLA in 2027...

      Don’t waste your breath. I’ve tried to make that point on other RUclips channels. Their reliability issues and them taking care of customers during warranty work is deplorable. Just go research them in other Asian market. Don’t know why anyone would spend their hard earned money on low quality product from that country. Just do research on China at this current moment in time and why they are dumping cars here. Look at the state of their economy. For me, this is just to bring awareness. Spend your money how you want.
