They will learn that the economy can’t support these high prices. When median income is low (under 50k) people can’t afford to pay a 600 car payment plus another 150 insurance at the minimum. 65k for Kia is ridiculous😮
Finance companies could put a quick end to this nonsense but they are just as greedy as the dealers. This should be illegal, they are basically robbing people.
You should put more emphasis on the theft that is “dealer add-ons” not just that they’re easy to steal. 7000-8000 in dealer add ons is as criminal as someone stealing your car.
Last winter we watched the security video from the dealership where I had ordered a Denali 2500HD after it disappeared overnight the day after it had arrived for a PDI. 2 thieves working together with a RFID relay system. One stood by the shop and picked up the key fov signal from inside the building and relayed it to his partner standing beside the vehicle with a reciever. The video showed the doors being unlocked and the unit started immediately. Under 15 minutes later they had replaced or flashed the ECU and disabled onstar and any other security and the thing disappeared off the map. Police called 3 months later they had found it in a container with a new VIN and keys and it was on its way to Africa.
😮! Damn! Bet FEDs are still gathering info. to fish the big fish if they all ready know or commit the operation. Is obvious…there’s big money in this one.
I just went to buy a new KIa Forte, yesterday, & they wanted $2,000. over sticker! I'll drive my current 19 year old Camry until it rots, before I will pay over sticker price!
@@gcanada3005 not much, it’s all profit for the dealership. The first place finish is just a paint treatment and a 3m fabric protection which you can apply yourself probably for 200-300 bucks. I know the paint protection has all these loop holes where you’re better off paying a detailer to wash, wax and buff your car every year for 10 years vs paying 5000-8000k. Window tint at a local reputable tint shop, get your tires done at Costco which includes nitrogen. You’ll save a lot more over time and get way more. It’s all greed
I use to deal with theft and total loss claims. Example with rough numbers. 50k car, dealership mark up 5000, taxes, interest, Etc etc minus a 63k - munis 5000k down. Let’s say you’re balance is 57k after your down payment. Interest rates are higher now, two years from now the car is totaled. Now You owe 49k, on car car that was worth 50msrp, the market value is 40k I’d that. You will still owe 9k to the bank, be out a car. You better have Gap insurance but still, you paid over 13k over two years to drive a Kia 😂. There’s more to this, best advice. Cars for the must part always loss value, get joy from other things.
I own a 2019 KIA Forte and Kia upgraded my car with a stronger theft protection package about a year ago, no charge to me. It's my 4th KIA and I've been more than satisfied with the car and the service. Thanks for your insight though.
The whole point of getting a Hyundai or a Kia is a lower price over say an equivalent Toyota, Honda, MB, BMW or an Audi. When a dealers adds an ADM it defeats that instantly.
My neighbor was shopping SUV's and was strongly considering the Telluride. He couldn't get it for less than $4000 over sticker, so he bought a Subaru Ascent under sticker and for considerably less money. I don't understand the attraction to KIA, especially when you have to deal with their sketchy dealers. There is more to a car than just gee wiz bells and whistles.
The Telluride is a very masculine-looking three-row SUV. there aren’t too many such vehicles. Certainly the Ascent doesn’t look intimidating and butch.
@@unknownalias5538 If you are borrowing, double the price.. People should be warned, 'This vehicle will cost you $140k over 7-years if financed, or $70k upfront.' Then they would think 'hm.. perhaps I should consider a $35k sticker price car..'
Those add-ons are where the dealer actually makes their money. That's why they push them so hard when you're buying a new vehicle. They even push them on used vehicles now. The margins on those things are huge! Also, for the oil change and inspections... if it's part of the cost of the add-on package, it's not free. 🤣
@joseCalderon1976 At least when cross-shopping the Stinger, Sorento, or Soul EV he showed. There’s still no Telluride competitor at a similar price point.
Hey, it isn't just Kia. I've seen Honda Accords new going for $50k and Ford 4 door trucks going for $90k. The car economy will crash next year if not this year. This market is NOT sustainable but the stealerships refuse to budge even one bit. I am NOT giving up my current car because there are no affordable cars in my state.
@@largol33t1 I don't blame you. Luckily I have two very reliable used vehicles (2012 Infiniti m37 with 165k miles and a 2003 chevy trailblazer with 188k miles). I paid $10k for each of them, which, right now, $20k can't even buy you one new most likely less unreliable new car 😂
We have been a Kia owner since 2000. We had our 2017 Kia Sportage stolen from an elementary school parking lot on April 21. It was totaled. We agree that their image for us has been ruined. We will not buy another one.
Looks like the "Market adjustment", has just been relabeled to 'Dealer addons" Same screw the customer, just with different terminology. Screw all of them. I had rather walk
I just leased a 2024 Kia K5. I got extremely lucky because the particular car I chose had just been backed off the truck within the previous hour. Had I waited until the next day the dealer would have installed markups and add-ons totaling over $5,000 over msrp.
Many banks are getting out of auto financing altogether. I'm surprised that the remaining banks are willing to finance $5,000 - $10,000 of dealer addons that don't increase the auction price of a repo one bit.
Who the hell is paying $65k for a Kia?!?!? LMFAO, these people deserve everything that’s coming to them. Imagine if your car gets totaled and you still owe $9k more than what market price is 😂😂
Comical anyone would pay MSRP let alone over MSRP a Kia. What a time to be alive. I am glad insurance companies are writing policies for them, they should deny Altima's as well or at least raise the premiums, we should not have to pay for the amount of thefts & wrecks.
Let alone "Nitrogen" fills. That's going to be illegal under new legislation in progress in various states. You have to be able to hold out and stand firm until dealers bend the price knee.
When a dealer charges you for filling your tires with "premium air" instead of normal air. They like to charge a couple hundred dollars to do this. Not that the air you breath is already 78% nitrogen.
100% true. My insurance doubled overnight and I was turned down by several other insurance companies cuz we own a Kia Soul. Finally found a good rate but it’s definitely something we’re considering when it comes time to get a new vehicle.
I paid cash for a 2020 Kia Sorento S V6 for 27k (msrp was 32k) Thankfully I got a heck of a deal before prices went crazy, it's a push start so it's resistant to being stolen and it's a V6 so it doesnt have the problems their 4cyl vehicles have. The new Sorento doesn't even have the V6engine option, you have to buy the telluride to get the V6. I really enjoy my Sorento especially at 27k plus tax (which was like 5 grand, so saving 5k on the MSRP was extra nice) but I would not be paying 46k for a slighly updadted Kia that I paid 27k for of which I have the better engine choice vs the new Sorento.. Shame
KIAs and Hyundais made sense when they were cheaper than anything else out there. Now that they are as much a Toyota or Honda they don't make sense because they depreciate so much faster, and let's face it the quality is just not there. Everyone I know that has bought a KIA has regretted it with regards to breakdowns. When you have a wreck or you have it stolen, insurance companies will only pay you book value and that may be $10k less than payoff on your loan and you have to eat that as a consumer.
@@leeg5678 Gap insurance doesn't cover trade-ins and you have to pay extra to get it. So again, the financial aspect of going with Kia or Hyundai is not there anymore, so why buy one vs a Toyota or Honda?
@@leeg5678 Yes and it only pays out if you have a wreck or theft or fire where the car is totaled. Either you have to get it because you bought a fast depreciating car or you traded in negative equity with your precious car. I've never needed gap insurance, because I don't do those things. Gap insurance doesn't help a bit when you buy a car at too high a price or trade in negative equity. So my question to you is, do you know how any sort of finance works, or did some car salesman hit you over the head with a gap insurance and now you think it's a magic bullet that fixes a rapidly depreciating car, a poor purchase price or negative equity?
I would stay clear of buying a used car manufactured between 2019-2022. I don’t think there were very many motivated employees coming into work during the Pandemic and who knows what tidbits were considered “redundant” or “not needed”. The manufacture that comes to mind and was in the news is Tesla. Supposedly they removed some “redundant” chips and sensors during that time frame.
@@mangos2888 I agree but the was topic of build quality of most cars built during 2020 to 2022 are almost guaranteed to have problems in the future because of labor issues during that time but still continue.
That someone would actually *WANT* to steal a Kia or Hyundai is utterly mystifying to me. They're *junk* vehicles & I wouldn't be caught in one of them....ever.
Wife and i owned Hyundais all throughout the 2010s up until last year when my 2016 Sonata transmission died. That was the final straw...switched to Honda. Well, just found out my in-laws bought a new Sorento, traded in their '20 Highlander for it 😮
That nitrogen shit on the tires is hilarious 😂. As a mechanic who specializes in tires I can say that don't do anything to your tires except makes them pop easier when you hit a pot hole
One of the issues that has lead to the cities pushing back against the manufacturer is the Kia Boys are causing all sorts of other damage and making the streets completely unsafe. The legal system is partly to blame however, these are minors who are doing for the rush and face a mere slap on the wrist if caught. The lawsuits will be interesting to watch.
I wonder how they are worldwide or if this is just a USA thing. I can't believe metal shops haven't made a collar kit to put over the column so the cylinder can't be replaced by USB cable. They did this for GMs back in the 70s but I guess we have no more shops in the USA😳😭

Glad the only damages were due to the theft (Window, steering column, and roof antenna) Took a month and a half and had to get aftermarket window because of backorders. Will be moving to Toyota for my next car for sure since Kia lost me as a customer. Lawsuits are hardly the only issue Kia/Hyundai has. A friend has an Elantra that was burning oil like a refinery fire. She got a new engine because of the 100K mile warranty. She said there was a long line of engines at the service department waiting to be replaced. Not good.
I've been using Sorento 2010 till now, 12 years. Never had a problem with the engine. No repair ever made. Kept the service on time and not compromising in Oil change quality. The biggest problem is engine oil leak that started last year. But that's about it. Engine still runs great. The gearbox is still fine because I knew it wasn't great so I try to not drive it roughly through the gear change. The power steering makes a noise when turned at the max. That's it. Going to trade it in for the 2023 soon.

After watching a few of your vids, I'm NEVER going to buy an new car again - even though I can afford it at this point in my life. Thanks for all your fine reporting, Brandon.
I bought a certified pre owned Corolla for my first car. Though my experience wasn't bad, I will never purchase a car from a dealership again. I will never take out a loan. I drive a 1989 vehicle now, for simplicity, and I will never own another car newer than 2007
I had a 1982 Mazda RX-7 sports car. I had a fuel pump kill switch installed. I had it in an underground apartment house garage. Somebody tried to steal it and didn't even make it out of the garage.
I have a retirement gig in auto parts supply in Newfoundland Canada (pretty bloody rural area), Our local KIA dealer here in the city has had 3 thefts and 5 additional attempted thefts in the last 3 months or so. Historically auto theft has been extremely rare here, like less than 10 vehicles per year in a city of 350K kind of rare for comparison.
Had a flat tire in The Kia I rented recently. Went to put the spare on, there wasn’t one. Just a little air pump and bottle of that sticky stuff you inject in the tire.
I own a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Unlimited, so I have the push button. Kia/Hyundai's response has been so awful though that insurance rates are going crazy high even though my vehicle is not affected. If I ever have to replace it, I'm going with another brand because of this debacle.

The new car prices are insane. There’s no way they should have so many additions that the price jumps into the stratosphere for what should be a reasonably priced vehicle. What happened to entry and midrange priced vehicles? No wonder repos are peaking. Price and interest rates are insane. I’d tell them to remove the $8,000.00 in markups
Oh but the dealer has already applied the $8k in worthless - I mean very useful and totally functioning protection sealant! And how could you forget about the nitrogen in the tires? We can't just take those out! I walked away after being told that.

The majority of people are unintelligent. Just the truth. This is why dealerships do this crap. It’s shady but for Christ sakes people need to learn how to do research. Problem is people are also just that lazy.
I'm sure one of the reasons their prolonging the recall is because their already facing a massive class action lawsuit forcing them to recall most of their 4 cylinder engines from 2014-2020 for engine failures due to rod bearings. Their in serious trouble with all this accumulated
Be careful with parking these Kia/Hyundais in the garage! Some of them (even '23s) are being recalled AGAIN for engine fires, you could end up burning down your garage AND your house!!
My old KIA (2010) had an annoying habit of unlocking the doors as soon you put it park, unlike my old Dodge truck which only unlocked the doors when you "keyed" the ignition to off. Bad idea in bad neighborhoods! Had to get in the habit of putting the car into neutral instead of park in drive-thru joints. Yeah I can imagine many KIA drivers got jacked going through drive-thrus.
Ya, I own a 2013 Hyundai, and I got a letter from them on a recall to fix security issues in the car, so it looks like they are working to fix the issues. But still, this should have been handled long ago. I also looked around, and I won't be buying a Hyundai or Kia any time soon do to the dealer markups. I went with a friend, and he bought a new Subaru, which I was shocked by. It had no dealer markups at all, and he got a new Impreza for 24800 was the price I think I know it was below 25000, so it looks like Toyota are pulling the dealer markups and trying to sell cars.

Someone ditched a Hyundai Tucson in the alley behind my house in STL last night. I saw the ignition switch cover torn off and USB cord left behind. Wild
The dealer markups are ridiculously expensive. You're behind the times - Hyundai has put in place a program to have security updates applied. What I'm concerned with is people breaking in to TRY to steal them, even after the security fix has been applied.

Just a note, I went in for an oil change last week on my 2021 Soul and they did some sort of "software update" to fix the theft issue. As part of the service, they installed two window stickers informing would be thieves that the software had been updated. Hopefully this is a deterent, but will wait and see. Other than this, its been a good car
Yep, it's a free software update with the notice stickers in the side windows and letter of anti-theft software install should your insurance carrier ask about it. My carrier in S.W.Missouri never asked about it but had the update done to our 2017 Sportage.
Same here. I just got the anti-theft software on my 2018 Kia Forte last week! I bought mine in 2020, and have had no issues with my insurance company State Farm at all. Luckily I bought mine when it was 2 years old for under $13,000! Someone will have to kill me to get me out of it my payments are under $250/month!
The kids stealing them aren’t always the brightest so I wouldn’t rest too easy that a couple stickers will keep them from at least trying. But that might just cost you a broken window I suppose.
I imagine giving KIA or Hyundai cars on tarde in are gonna be a nightmare. Insurance stop insuring them, and if insured if they have those add ups, I’m not sure they will honor them plus the loan amount versus market value.
This is all why everyone should just have a fleet of jaguars. 50% the time they won’t start anyway so a thief would need to be a master mechanic. Plus that 0 thefts mean 0 loss. And let’s face it as they don’t run often not getting into a crash. Hahah.
That's very well put about the damage to their image. This situarion shows that their priority during that covid time was scalping cars with market adjustments and BS add ons. Not preventing and fixing issues that hurt the buyers.
Had a 2022 KIA Telluride, the highest trim level you could get. For the first year and half we owned it we loved it. Was out of state visiting family and, on our way, home it threw a rod. The vehicle only had 27,500 miles on it, and I had done three oil changes on it. I got it towed to the closest KIA dealership, got a rental and went home. Took dealership about a week to tell us the motor had blown, and KIA wanted all service records. Well, I had written down all three of my oil changes and had receipts for the wiks oil filters and Mobile 1 oil. KIA declined my repair, I guess me changing the oil caused it to throw a rod! The dealer asked me to approve them to remove valve covers so they could video the top of the heads to show how clean they were. I agree as my next move would have been to hire a lawyer. Well after that KIA approved the engine replacement. I traded it 3 months later for a new Honda Pilot and will never buy another KIA and will try to talk to any family or friend not to.
We need more people like you who are willing to share these stories and talk to family and friends. Kia/Hyundai are flashy, but have real quality issues that people look away from.
Thank you for sharing your story. I had the same issue with my 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid including the batteries underneath the seat. It was a double whammy for me at 3000 miles. After fighting the dealership and Hyundai, they agreed to fix it after I got a lawyer involved. After the fix I bought a new Honda Accord Hybrid.
If that engine failed that soon there was probably a defect with the block…there’s plenty of Toyotas and Hondas that have a early failure. You should call a Kia dealer and schedule an appointment for a software update. Have your vin ready when you call. There’s no charge for this upgrade. Once it’s done, the dealer is required to provide paperwork signifying that the update was done. Inform your insurance company of the update. Keep using your wheel lock.

There is no way they did the security install in just an hour, because the other warranty work was also an hr, doesn't add up. They just slapped stickers on and sent us on our way. I went and confronted them, and it was some bullshit run around. They are absolutely lying, they couldn't even prove it was done

It had no dealer markups at all, and he got a new Impreza for 24800 was the price I think I know it was below 25000, so it looks like Toyota are pulling the dealer markups and trying to sell cars.
I received the same letter as well.
The Club! makes a comeback😂! That ought to slow the thieves down by at least a minute.
More like 10 seconds
cordless grinder with a cutoff wheel can cut thru it in seconds. If your afraid someone might be alerted by the sparks, a can of refrigerant and a big hammer will snap it in two.
@@tbirdracefan the old way was to just take a hacksaw to the steering wheel itself. Cuts through steering wheels like butter because they are designed to be soft and bend during wrecks
The club, the song when will I see you again? Ah the 70s
The irony of politicians blaming car manufacturers for rampant theft in their juridiction is just great. Way to go, Baltimore. 🙄
My 2016 Hyundai Sonata was stolen out of my apartment parking lot in broad daylight in February. I loved that car, but knowing how simple it was to steal, I'm convinced I'll never buy a Kia/Hyundai car again. I'm not about to drop tens of thousands of dollars on their car just to be blindsided by yet another absurd engineering oversight. I don't care whose idea it was to save $30 per unit on a $12,000 car by excluding technology that's existed since the 90s, they've all lost my trust.
Someone ditched a Hyundai Tucson in the alley behind my house in STL last night. I saw the ignition switch cover torn off and USB cord left behind. Wild
The city of Baltimore stealing kias is the least of your worries I won’t even fly over that ghetto
The dealer markups are ridiculously expensive. You're behind the times - Hyundai has put in place a program to have security updates applied. What I'm concerned with is people breaking in to TRY to steal them, even after the security fix has been applied.
Update: My wife's Hyundai has been updated, and they provided a sticker to attach to the window to show the folks who rip them off that it's been updated. Assuming they bother to read....
kia only offered me a wheel lock. They aren't doing anything major to address the security of the cars that are affected.
@@teddy90636 Even though mine wasn't affected (Got a model with push start "keyless"), I still got a security recall notice in the mail. So I'm rather surprised you didn't get one.
You might as well just leave the doors unlocked and the windows down when you park it.
@@fivespeed3026 Just disconnect the battery when you park it. They can't steal what doesn't have any electrical connection. 😉
The Memphis police Department had FB posts stating you can get steering wheel locks for your KIA with proof of Shelby County residence. People could just not steal, but with these catch and release practices going on in certain cities, it's only going to keep happening.
The cities with high numbers that were stolen already had high number of stolen cars.
How bout you just dont steal? This stuff is crazy
Its crazy how these corporations think the masses are so dumb that they charge you for door guards, nitrogen, interior and exterior sealant (whatever that is) and make extra profit.
And yet many are paying for it. The public is not as bright as it used to be😳
@@Dilberts_Dogbert I have never purchased a new car in my entire life. Always been good used cars.
These prices are insane and unconscionable. I just took delivery on a new XL (Base) HYBRID Maverick with Zero, yes ZERO add on's or markup above Factory Sticker. Only $35 doc fee too. Kudos to Wiscasset Ford in Wiscasset, Maine.
Dealers like that are a breath of fresh air and will force other dealers to follow suit if want to sell some vehicles.
$35 doc fee? Wow. They’re 699 around here.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention these vehicles bursting into flames as well.
Maybe because of the “ Liar, Liar,
Pants On Fire “ warranty!”
Hey, that waz pretty funny! CB
And throwing rods at 70k miles..
Well GM has to have some market corner 😳😎🤣🤣🤣
Nah! KIA/Hyundai does their own financing. The get Everybody approved. Shady bad credit people don’t do “research” on anything. Their the Fastest growing auto manufacturers.
Also I have a 2011 kia Sedona with 273k miles. It’s now a Second vehicle but, it’s so reliable I’ll NEVER GET RIDE OF IT. Plus it’s worth Nothing so might as well keep it. Also my Van does NOT have a chip key. But, I don’t live in a shady area
NONE OF THESE CARS are worth more than $26,000 people just love getting into debt
Cars have had chip keys for nearly 25 years and it dramatically dropped the rate that cars are stolen. F Kia and Hyundai for cheaping out on that, especially on a $50,000 car
It was never on the high end vehicles because they all had push button start. It’s mostly the low end vehicles in Kia and Hyundais lineup
@@HarryTwatter you have a “POOR” attitude towards your fellow man/woman.Pity. CB
$65k for a Kia. I never thought I would see the day but here I am lmao
Me either. Maybe these new ones come with gold bars in the trunk?
You might as well buy a Mercedes for that price !
Insurance company not writing a policy is more important than anything. Premium will probably be the same as the note.
Class action written all over this.
I don’t understand the hate on Kia/Hyundai. I bought a new 2015 Hyundai veloster turbo, owned it for 6 years and put 160k miles on it. Not a single issue. I also have a 2022 Kia forte GT and have put 35k on it and so far it’s been perfect as well.
Any dealership that has add on you can negotiate add on, to drop of at least by 70% off added on or just walk away.
Because 90% of add on is a rip off trash anyway.
Yeah, wait a coupla years!!! CB
Hahah.
CLARIFY--- STEERING WHEEL LOCKS, NOT LOCK FOR THE WHEELS! LIKE THE CLUBS THAT HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS,
I HAVE OWNED MANY.
Honda is having issues with blowing head gaskets on the 1.5T engines and Toyota had that oil consumption issue with the early 2.4L engines. Those are widespread issues but yours seems to be a one off issue
@@JDMSwervo2001 Everyone likes to pick on Kia/Hyundai but they never had a reputation for reliability... Honda and Toyota, on the other hand, should be the ones criticized since reliability is supposedly their trademark.
@@tk9839 When I helped my mother bring in her Honda Odyssey after 3 of 4 engine mounts broke on the interstate, the Honda service manager went on a sudden tangent and started listing all the known issues with their current models, from bad clutch and AC issues with the CRV, to Transmission issues with the Odyssey, Civic, and Pilot to oil pump issues with the Ridgeline that Honda wasn't addressing. The dude turned both me and my mother off to Honda at that point.
I had a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe (V6) at that time that never had a single engine/trans issue for what ended up being the 12 years I owned it. So that sold my parents on getting Hyundais/Kias from that point onward and never had any engine/transmission issues in any of their vehicles.
So each manufacturer has their issues, just gotta do research on which models seem good and do proper maintenance.
My local county sheriff’s department and neighboring counties have banned together to sue Hyundai and Kia for this issue and for the safety issues they pose for fires and wrecks due to engine failures…. Even though they have “issued a engine recall “ they are denying claims left and right and they are not actually fixing the problem just swapping out the engines with engines that have the same issue.
My wife who teaches, had her Sonata stolen from the school parking lot about 4 weeks ago.
Thats crazy. Did they find it?

is now selling steering wheel locks for those 2 cars, it says steering wheel locks for kia.
I looked at a KIA Soul this year, but decided against it because they refused to drop the $4k in add-ons. Moved on to look at Mazda and Subaru. In my area KIA dealerships are the worst. I guess I'm thankful for not ending up in a KIA lol
Funny enough our Kia dealership hasn't had a new Kia vehicle in many months! Who is buying these vehicles? Known transmission and engine problems in so many models too. Used to be you could buy a Kia significantly below MSRP. Now even the soul the cheapest versions because of add-ons is like 24k.
@@Holly24tm Yes! They were trying to sell one to me for 25k lol.
@@rebeljadesfire Wow that's horrible! I think they were probably 18k or so before the craziness! You are smart to walk away!
I'd stay away from Korean junk. You'll do well with either Mazda or Subaru.
Mazda is a brand that is seriously under appreciated. Short on bling, but very high on value. Intelligent purchase.
My daughter drives our 2021 Hyundai Accent se. We have had a wheel lock since we heard about the theft problem. No attempts yet. She uses the wheel lock religiously. We got the car for $16,000 out the door. It's already paid off, she loves it - so we will keep it.
You should call a Kia dealer and schedule an appointment for a software update. Have your vin ready when you call. There’s no charge for this upgrade. Once it’s done, the dealer is required to provide paperwork signifying that the update was done. Inform your insurance company of the update. Keep using your wheel lock.
I had a recall on mine, not sure what they did other than place a sticker on the two front windows. I was instructed to use the key fob to activate antitheft and unlock to deactivate! I have a 2019 Elentra SE.
I had a situation similar to this. They had to do a different warranty work, but only spent 1 hour total. I ended up getting a flier from kia the next day after taking it in for warranty work, and was told 1 hr to 1 hr 1/2. There is no way they did the security install in just an hour, because the other warranty work was also an hr, doesn't add up. They just slapped stickers on and sent us on our way. I went and confronted them, and it was some bullshit run around. They are absolutely lying, they couldn't even prove it was done
@neozzickmixes3987 might need to get Hyundai corporate involved
@MudBuddyHarrison Get paperwork from the dealership signifying that the update was done. They should have provided it, already, and they’re required to for insurance purposes. Notify your insurer if you have the paperwork. See if your local PD is giving away clubs, and use one, anyway.
@EMichaelBall I received paperwork. My insurance company hasn't increased my premiums, nor have they even questioned my vehicle.
Completely agree. I knew of the issue about these cars being stolen but didn't know it stopped at the 2021 year models.
I went to a Kia dealer and wanted to buy a Kia Sportage Hybrid and they told me there would be a 10,000 market adjustment without any dealer add-ons. I told them they were crazy. Left out of there as quickly as possible. Highway robbers they are.
