They charged high rates because the managers waited until the weekend to call or needed it done yesterday. It worked out for them and a few bought duplexes & then flipped them. Smart kids.
I agree with a thorough recon. I've attended the Manheim in Dallas a hundred times but this auction shown here is much much smaller and attended by those with buy here pay here lots ( tote the note). No franchise dealer buys anything that has a salvage title. These cars will be noted out and repo'd and noted out and repo'd again and again for a big profit. It was then sent to a sale where someone bought it, 'repaired' it, and sold it, somehow, with a clean title. I tried it out and it was nice, and it drove straight and true - for the test drive. I bought it and went home, but before I made it home 30 miles away, the alignment went out, and it was riding rough. I got lucky that the dealer helped me replace it with something else, but that came close to being a very expensive mistake at a time in my life I couldn't afford such mistakes. The other thing about 'salvage' titles, and even 'rebuilt', I believe, is that insurance companies don't want to insure them, and if they do, they jack their already nuts monthly premiums up even higher.

Recently gotten several email offers where all they focus on is your payment. So far mostly Ford. They have the numbers on your current vehicle, offer you something less and talk about payment savings. Of course its all BS. So many ppl out there falling for this gimmick having no idea what kind of numbers they are screwing you with. Just make the payment affordable. I emailed back listing several reasons why I was a hard no. The vehicle was 3 trims down from what I have, the price was 5k to high, the interest rate was more then double, and it was 84 months. Not to mention Ford quality is very questionable. That email was sent last week, crickets.
213,000 Mi on a 2012 Camaro??? Good God! You're almost guaranteed to need to rebuild the engine with as much as that thing's been flogged, and it's not even an LS3.
This format is much better where you go over the condition as the bidding progresses. I like having a better understanding of why the vehicle brought the bid it got in a timely manner.
21 year old car. Paid 2k. Put 3.5k in. Almost done replacing the bushings with polyurethane. All new brakes and bearings waiting to go on. Then I can fix the AC lines and finally the stereo. Not too mention all the other parts I’ve put on. You gotta do it yourself. Shop fees are 150 bucks an hour.
I'm just curious. Is there a reason you never specify how many cylinders the engine has when you quote the mileage? Asking for a friend. I enjoy your shows and appreciate y'all.
Great video! Thanks for posting. I am finding more and more that I value my money more than I value any car, but that's me, and I thankfully have little need for a car at the moment. I am waiting as long as possible before buying.
It's interesting watching dealer auctions. Because I'm a third party buyer that sells their inventory at dealer auctions. I've got 11 on the block tomorrow.
One dealer in St. Johns Michigan was charging nearly $5000 for a $1500 car per Kelley blue book. They were also trying to sell another car for $7000 that wasn’t even worth $3000. Let them rot on the lot. Hope these dealers go broke.
I’m astounded at how dirty and damaged those seats are… 😳 I don’t have pets but I’ve got 2 kids under 6yo and car/truck never been that banged up… When we have over 100mi trip, and we can’t help feeding kids snacks & drinks during trip, we still take time to use portable vacuum to clean it up… Plus we make the kids clean up their seats too… Plus we remind them to not spill… They’re growing up tidy & clean freaks like daddy… 😜😂Hehehe…
It’s amazing how people will drop serious money on a new car and then never clean it in its life. My buddy bought a $40000 Lexus only 5 years ago and the interior looks like a horse stable.
I used to work at a Carmax in Kenosha, WI--it was one of the larger stores that originally had 9 lines of new vehicles in addition to the usual used ones. The back lot was several acres so, in addition to retailing cars we also used it for Carmax wholesale auctions. I would frequently drive the vehicles for the auctions and I saw a very wide variety of cars in various states of cleanliness and repair/disrepair. Sometimes there were vehicles that went through that were surprisingly nice--there was an early 1980s Jeep Cherokee that had about 150k miles that felt like it was brand new--it had fewer rattles than the average new Chevy of that era (late 1990s.) There were also the bad ones---the worst that I drove was an Olds Cutlass Ciera that was so filthy that I had to put towels on the seat due to unidentified fluids. The headliner was also loose and the prior owner was a frequent user of Pomaide. I put one of the towels on my head. It was like one of those cars you see near homeless encampments but with the rags and garbage removed.
Kudos to you for raising kids well (teaching respect for property)! When I was a kid, eating ice cream in the car was a NO NO (now it's obvious why, LOL!),
I'm surprised how many vehicles show up where the seller doesn't even bother to run a vacuum cleaner through it, or throw out the large pieces of trash, like cups, napkins, fast food wrappers, toys, etc. It's like they stopped caring.
man i love these cheap cars. this is the way to go. get used to some occasional $500 repairs yearly but it's so much cheaper to own and operate vs a new one. not for everyone, but that's a good thing for those of us who can afford a new car, but prefer NOT to go that route. I make 78K and i'm daily driving a 2000 diesel jetta. love it. no payments and costs like $150/mo in fuel
And that my friend is why you make 78 k a year. Not because of the expenses , but because of how you manage your expenses. Props to you, I’m young but I blow my money fast. I don’t make no where near 78k but I definitely blow a lot of my take home pay😂
It's really the way to go. Patience, buy a good one used. If it lasts you 5 or 6 years, you've saved nearly a new cars worth of money. New cars are kind of a joke. I really don't understand why people buy them.
Just the smarter folks that realize they don’t “need” a new car and can pay cash for something and still have leftover for repairs down the line. It’s really tough to justify borrowing money when the interest is more than a couple points.
I would kill to pay for what a car is worth, and slide a few hundred to the dealer for sourcing and cleaning it. It's just ridiculous to see some of them trying to flip a used car for over $1000 profit. like... If these were public auctions nobody would be paying these prices on the lots!
I noticed one car had scratches on the leather seats in the butt area. Cut off any back facing zipper handles on your cargo type pants etc. Whoever thought putting zippers back there did not try to drive a car with leather seats for long. I never / rarely use these zippers any way and if they wreck my car's driver's seat, I don't want them. The smarter pant designers use velcro in these areas.
I feel for the lot jocky's that have to drive those rolling trash cans. One would think a dealer would at least knock the high spots off so they would only be nasty instead of completely filthy.
I would never buy one of those trash cans. You know if people treated their car or truck like that, they neglected the engine and transmission even worse. I wouldn't want it at any price.
I like the way you edited this video. No doubt this was a lot more work, so you probably won't do it every time, but it was a nice change. I appreciate seeing some vehicles at 100k and under - a range most of us would probably be considering. If possible, I would still like to know the trim levels, however, and if the trucks or SUVs are 2wd or 4wd. Base level trim vs high-end trim, and 2wd vs 4wd, these are things that can make a big difference in price. Words are hard, but this is only a few more. 😆 That said, still very appreciative of these videos and a chance to see what dealers are paying for their vehicles. Thank you. 🙂
@@carquestionsanswered Your efforts were definitely appreciated. Since Alex didn't get that hair cut, maybe you should make him do you editing? Then again, he won't cut his hair shorter, so could he be trusted to cut the videos short enough? 😆

0:30. No. Gouged is more like it and milking it for what it's worth. Buy privately.
Car dealers and manufacturers have made it pretty easy to not buy a car
Am a dealer in Miami and all I sale is rebuilt titles/ salvage and the prices at auction over the past year are crazy. No price drops yet
Bro there's no way I'm paying 10k+ for a salvage title car. Am i crazy? Lol
I think Nissan Altimas come with a salvage title from the factory.
@@papagiorgio3314Good one 🤣🤣🤣
The only salvage vehicles I would ever buy are sports cars that I'm willing to do alot of mods to like a Vette to race or track it a pick up truck and/or work vans that I'm absolutely going to dawg the piss out of.
Can’t wait till cars with led headlights starts going through. Busted light will set you back 1500-1800. Most factory led assemblies aren’t servicable
Great vdieo Brandon, guaranteed that Camaro will need a motor soon holly 230k lol - Mark
Brandon I wish those greedy cardealerships follow you honest view how to handle a business. They destroying their own livelihood.
8:30 that 4 Runner has seen more action than the 5th Infantry!
This is much better. Show the car and the auction price right away and then what you guys got. Keep this format!!! Let's Go Brandon!
You MAGA Trump fan !!!!
Love this video. I've been thinking about buying a car and this information was very valuable. Thank you so much!
That's not going to happen my friend. The car market is absolutely ridiculous right now.
"words are hard" cracked me up!
I've given up on buying a second car. I'll never be able to afford anything that doesn't have one axle in the junkyard.
Very interesting to see inside the auction and the prices paid and the no sells. Keep up the good work fella
I’m astounded at how dirty and damaged those seats are… 😳
I don’t have pets but I’ve got 2 kids under 6yo and car/truck never been that banged up… When we have over 100mi trip, and we can’t help feeding kids snacks & drinks during trip, we still take time to use portable vacuum to clean it up… Plus we make the kids clean up their seats too… Plus we remind them to not spill… They’re growing up tidy & clean freaks like daddy… 😜😂Hehehe…
I like the way you did this video cutting between the bid and the car
I'm loving the editing on this video! It's definitely more work for you or your editor, but the way it tells the story works exceptionally well ❤
Haha thanks... It was hard... I am my editor
Digging this new format! Watched all the way to the end 🤙🏻
Thank you! Tough to edit but I liked it better too!
man i love these cheap cars. this is the way to go. get used to some occasional $500 repairs yearly but it's so much cheaper to own and operate vs a new one. not for everyone, but that's a good thing for those of us who can afford a new car, but prefer NOT to go that route.
Your the best host! No BS! To the point! Where's your location?
you're on the right path lots of people wanting cheaper cars
Just the smarter folks that realize they don’t “need” a new car and can pay cash for something and still have leftover for repairs down the line. It’s really tough to justify borrowing money when the interest is more than a couple points.
You should definitely use this format going forward to show pricing! It's way easier to follow and see what cars went for how much! Thank you!
Do not use this as a guide...this isn't the reality of the used car car market. Repairs and reconditioning costs have gone absolutely crazy.
@@OutlawChevy2 I'm absolutely aware. It's just this format is less confusing than the way he did before. But thank you for your candor 👍🏾
HEY! Hello Brandon! Thumbs UP!!
Thanks Richard!!!!!
You have credibility which is really important. You have our trust which is is very important, Thanks
I would kill to pay for what a car is worth, and slide a few hundred to the dealer for sourcing and cleaning it. It's just ridiculous to see some of them trying to flip a used car for over $1000 profit. like... If these were public auctions nobody would be paying these prices on the lots!
Lmfao
I noticed one car had scratches on the leather seats in the butt area. Cut off any back facing zipper handles on your cargo type pants etc. Whoever thought putting zippers back there did not try to drive a car with leather seats for long. I never / rarely use these zippers any way and if they wreck my car's driver's seat, I don't want them. The smarter pant designers use velcro in these areas.
They should open these auctions up to the public. They would sell a lot more cars.
I bet the jeep and the caddy. As dirty and low miles, I bet the oil changes wasn't kept up with.
I like this quick cut approach to the video. Much more enjoyable to watch. Great job
Thank you. 🙂
Thanks... It was a lot harder to edit but made it better I think
@@carquestionsanswered great editing!!!
@@carquestionsansweredlove the new format. Could definitely see the effort you put into it and it paid off!
@@carquestionsanswered Your efforts were definitely appreciated. Since Alex didn't get that hair cut, maybe you should make him do you editing? Then again, he won't cut his hair shorter, so could he be trusted to cut the videos short enough? 😆
I like they way you edited this video! So much easier to follow. Thank you!
I'm liking this format, showing the vehicle inside - outside and the sale. Or no sale.
Thanks I think it works better too
Love the new editing with the vehicle walk around and the lane action side-by-side!!!
Do you worry about the mechanical condition of a repo do to probable lack of regular maintenance?
Thank you for putting the walkthrough next to the lane footage.
No problem 👍
This new format is great, I love it. Keep up the good work!
Glad you enjoy it!
Boggles my mind that an auction is trying to sell vehicles with the garbage still in them....not too smart if you ask me.
Would be super cool to follow one of your cars from action to sale prep to final sale. Love the content!
Thanks again for being up front
It would be nice for you to tell us the trims on these too
I live in the Northeast. Salt is the problem up here. It might look great on the outside, but if the frame is soft from rust, it fails Inspection and you get stung.
I worked at a car lot that buys auction cars as a mechanic for one summer. Most the cars had mechanical issues. But if you have your own mechanic it's all good..
I like they new way you are going the vehicles where you show them one at a time with cuts to the auction results.
Awesome video! Love the auction vids.
Most of these cars are fresh trade-ins. Dealers did not even bother to vacuum them out. With these high milage cars, you just need to clean them out, and roll back the odometers to prep them for sale.
