Tf2 spy's best bet is he cloaks away and can catch tfc off guard which isnt happening in a 1v1. Even worse since some knives straight up make spy weaker.
I think after you cover all of the TFC vs TF2 mercs, maybe do the ones from Quake World: Team Fortress? Some of them from what I’ve seen are fundamentally similar, but at the same time are radically different.
I feel like including bunny hopping and grenades (mechanics exclusive to TFC) while excluding any and all unlocks (a mechanic unique to TF2) feels a bit unfair.
The main goal was to compare default abilities to default abilities. Generally adding unlocks into the mix provides an unnecessary advantage to TF2. Where TF2 overall has more powerful weapons, adding ones with specialized uses tends to skew things. As of right now the TF2 vs TFC videos have been somewhat one sided toward TF2 without the need for any unlocks.
Two words...Market Gardener A 195 Garden crit paired with a point blank 112 rocket equal 307 damage, barely enough kill TFC Soldier with it in just a swing and a rocket So in a fight with unlocks for TF2 allowed I think that the Market Gardener alone would be enough to tip the scales slightly towards TF2
“Little bit of an upset” …quite an understatement (correction a huge one) considering Soldier is my favorite class in game and having him lose this round hurts. I’m more upset TF2 Soldier lost this round. I was hoping he could win! “Would having his unlocks push the edge for TF2?” Yes… it would if he had his unlocks he would win. You pointed out the Direct Hit could diminished half of TFC Soldier’s Health, especially with the speed of said rocket. It’s going to be a bit hard for me playing when soldier by the reminder he lost to his counterpart. But I’m still going to anyways, because I’ll not let some video comparison discourage me from playing my favorite TF2 Character since most of it is opinion based. You may say Soldier lost, but I and many others, see him win by default. Both heart and soul. While I still disagree with the outcome of this match, I do want to see the other versus you have planned,
How about next time we do Medic vs Medic instead of comparing damage though we compare heal rates and see which is better? Or maybe overall damage + healing not sure how you would precisely go about that one.
TFC soldier getting killed in less than a second when TF2 soldier hits him with a market garden immediately followed by a point-blank rocket (he was told the odds were in his favor):
ok but why do grenades' and bunnyhop count as free victory for tfc in that case tf2 should have a free win for unlocks as both are a massive part of the game smh.
because grenades are something you always have in tfc while unlockables aren't part of the base arsenal of the classes, and weren't always part of the game
TFC soldiers are more disciplined mercenaries. Most of the mercs on TF2 on the other hand are basically sociopaths. Soldier has PTSD, Heavy has a romance with his gun, Demo has his own eye trying to kill him, Pyro is Pyro and Medic treats his own teammates as experiments. Also in the comics(which is canon) and TF2 mercs beat the tfc mercs
i feel like tfc soldier would run around mid range and use his double barrel for most of his damage, then use grenades for zoning, and his rocket launcher for an emergency escape
Talking about the best scenerio that could happen with unlocks, Solider does a rocket jump with airstrike and mantrats or how those boots are spelled, and hits every rocket, then Marketgarden tfc solider with damage from boots as well xD
it actually would be kinda nice to have a shot gun that does better damage at midrange so ye I would advocate for the double barrel shotgun to be added as a new soldier secondary in tf2
The reason why I assume the insendiary cannon and Rock luchar haver that dmg inconsistency, is because maybe TFC still has the old removed mechanic of random dmg spread that tf2 used to have
TF2 soider would just break both TFC Soider arms and then Strangle him to near death whole punching him, like he did to scout in the tf2 comics so tf2 soider would win.
are you ever gonna do engi? i read somewhere that the big reason the tf2 launch maps feel so bad to play is because they were lifted out of TFC without taking into account that engi was weaker in classic and i wanna see that put to the test
You know, if you where to include the spell book, one of the few extra default items that has no mode restrictions, and the one that it does have being able to be activated at any time, it would be an interesting way to deal with the B-hopping and grenades. Then again, it may be too broken, as that and the unlocks would give TF2 soldier a very large advantage against TFC soldier, but it would be nice to include the default power items.
could be mentioned, but he can only do that with the escape plan/equalizer, which breaks the "stock only" rule. also, TF2 soldier uses the grenade in a taunt kill, which are inherently impractical to use and borderline useless in direct combat (not to mention soldier kills himself using the taunt unless he finds a ceiling at just the right height)

We are talking roughly 250 health damage and 150 armor damage in a rocket+gren combo that hits you at the same milisecond if the guy is not a scrub player. TF2 soldier simply vanishes in a cloud of dust while the tfc soldier jumps backwards getting carried through the air, doing a backflip for artistic value as his own splash damage allows him to turn this into a little workout session.
TF2 soldier shotgun damage does not matter when the other guy has so much frontloaded damage in that combo that tf2 guy will not get off more than one hit before he gets annihilated with no way to counter that.
@@MrSheduur That's a whole lot of words and none of them counter my stance at all. We're not talking about the overall classes, we're talking specifically about the shotgun round. You know, the one where the shotgun very much _does_ matter, counter to what you said in your last paragraph. That's why I opened by original comment by saying he saying TF2 should have won the shotgun round, not the matchup as a whole.
Fun fact about Grenades: In TF2 pre release. The soldier and other classes were suppose to have grenades but it was overall cut
With good reason. Grenade Spam.
10:20 A little correction: It's distance between the rocket impact and the shooter at moment of impact.
You DO have to remember that some of these lose because of Engine Limitations. Plus, they were porting a Quake Game to GOLDSRC.
TFC has the power
But the TF2 Soldier has the charisma lol
More like TFC has the health boost, the TF2 has the damage boost.
@@apolloknight9521 in close ranges, yes, medium they are Kinda in a tie, and long-range tfc lack of damage falloff is insane, especially with the shotguns, it's warframe all over again where shotguns fell more like mini snipers lol
@MariaFlores-KAII Shotgun pellets are easy to dodge? Hit-scan weapon? Ok...
@MariaFlores-KAII And the dude you've replied to was clearly talking about shotguns. Learn to read before replying to someone. ☺
@@Fallout_Survivor TFC soldier wins at all ranges. TF2 rockets are a joke at longer range, even TFC shotgun outdamages TF2 rockets at anything above close range, and TFC soldier still has grenades that take away 65% of his health and TF2 soldier barely has a chance to dodge those. I bet most of the people talking in these comments have never played tfc, which is not surprising since the game is pretty much dead since 2007. But all of us who played both games competetively know that most TF2 classes stood no chance against their counterparts in TFC. Maybe scout and sniper could, but the others would always be wiped off the face of the earth by using grenades plus primary weapon.
TFC Soldier: You should stop, you're bleeding.
TF2 Soldier: I don't have time to bleed!
Holy ravioli is that me who appears on the description???!!!!
Pyro main here, I would like to thank you for giving that phlog pyro a speed boost as he was pushing out. It's little things like this that almost make me revert back into a medic main.
id love to see the tfc weapons get imported into tf2, maybe with more extreme adjustments to how they worked to make them more distinct from their newer counterparts
Single barrel shotgun would make for a funny fatscout weapon
“If you know what’s best for you, you will run” -Solider TF2
I still think counting grenades is pretty dumb, because in if you're gonna count something specific only for tfc why not count something specific only for tf2 by getting unlockables into the mix, or just as I wrote above, not count grenades at all.
Because grenades are base kit for tfc classes and unlockables are not.
@@superbrainz2357 still, it's a dumb freebie
@@zedowskyy9290 an advantage is an advantage, removing something they have just because tf2 lacks it is literally stirring the battle analysis to tf2's side, nevermind how the battle thing is secondary and just themed around the true intent of the video which is to compare the differences between the classes in both games
@@thelastmlg2699
Then why no unlockable weapons or random crits?
@@sonicdml4175because they are not a base kit. You don't get them with a fresh install, unlike TFC grenades, and they werent even added back when TF2 first released
Spy has always been the most fascinating one for a comparison simply because of how the direct 1v1 would work. Like simply put the invisibility seems like it forces that to be a tie because it’d be impossible to realistically fight them with that in play.
The match tf2 favored because spy can stay invisible longer, meaning he's more likely to catch tfc out of cloak, and unlocks makes this even more so
@@calebbarnhouse496 Tfc spy doesnt cloak, he plays dead.
Also you're underestimating his vastly superior arsenal of gas grenades which would make tf2 spy hallucinate, a dart gun that would cripple 2's movement speed, and a double barrel shotgun that can easily match the revolver.
Tf2 spy's best bet is he cloaks away and can catch tfc off guard which isnt happening in a 1v1. Even worse since some knives straight up make spy weaker.

Finally, a new TFCvTF2!
I happened to search "The evolution of tf2" and saw you upload, nice
I think after you cover all of the TFC vs TF2 mercs, maybe do the ones from Quake World: Team Fortress? Some of them from what I’ve seen are fundamentally similar, but at the same time are radically different.
The Double Barrel Shotgun would probably be a great exclusive shotgun for Heavy
I feel like including bunny hopping and grenades (mechanics exclusive to TFC) while excluding any and all unlocks (a mechanic unique to TF2) feels a bit unfair.
The main goal was to compare default abilities to default abilities. Generally adding unlocks into the mix provides an unnecessary advantage to TF2. Where TF2 overall has more powerful weapons, adding ones with specialized uses tends to skew things. As of right now the TF2 vs TFC videos have been somewhat one sided toward TF2 without the need for any unlocks.
@@SquimJim except this one. I’m still salty with Soldier losing this round because of a health factor.
Wake up babe! After Breakfast uploaded a new tfc vs tf2 video!
He is back!
Oh my gosh, just when I started rewatching the whole tfc vs tf2 series, this comes out!? Talk about timing.
new SquimJim upload? YIPPEE!
If you considered unlockables, this fight would’ve ended much differently
feels like the double barrel shotgun is just a alternate weapon.
Nope, it’s a default weapon.
@Maria Flores oh, because I felt they should at least include panic attack if other guy has 2 shotguns
Two words...Market Gardener
A 195 Garden crit paired with a point blank 112 rocket equal 307 damage, barely enough kill TFC Soldier with it in just a swing and a rocket
So in a fight with unlocks for TF2 allowed I think that the Market Gardener alone would be enough to tip the scales slightly towards TF2
Speaking of the original original, have you considered comparing the classes to their quake team fortress counterparts?
Tf2 won in all except maybe in demoman and soldier (qwtf has the original). Demoman in qwtf was offensive like tf2 demo but it has grenades too
I find these videos very interesting. Could you do the next one on Spy or Medic? I would be really interested to hear about them in this style.
“Little bit of an upset”
…quite an understatement (correction a huge one) considering Soldier is my favorite class in game and having him lose this round hurts. I’m more upset TF2 Soldier lost this round. I was hoping he could win! “Would having his unlocks push the edge for TF2?”
Yes… it would if he had his unlocks he would win.
While I still disagree with the outcome of this match, I do want to see the other versus you have planned,
Ah but can the TFC Solider strip himself, get doused in honey, and grapple bears to death only with his bare hands???? I didn't think so.
How about next time we do Medic vs Medic instead of comparing damage though we compare heal rates and see which is better? Or maybe overall damage + healing not sure how you would precisely go about that one.
I think he should take the closest battle from the other classes and check for a medic + other class pair who wins
Have to let the tfc have something 😂
because grenades are something you always have in tfc while unlockables aren't part of the base arsenal of the classes, and weren't always part of the game
Finally a new video about. Tfc vs tf2 I've been waiting for this episode for so long and that's now here. Let's go.
tf2 soldier wins because I say so
Been waiting for this, great video as always 👍
Considering that the comics show the tf2 crew beating the TFC crew
Tf2.
TF2 soldier just needs to be coated in honey and naked, he's impossible to beat when in that state.
Except the tfc mercs were old, sabotaged by medic on the inside bringing sniper back to life, and some of them just wanted to leave.
i feel like tfc soldier would run around mid range and use his double barrel for most of his damage, then use grenades for zoning, and his rocket launcher for an emergency escape
I know that he wont make more of these, but if he does i hope is either spy or medic
He's doing spy vs spy soon.
Imo TFC spy is gonna stomp.
I used to watch this channel when I started playing tf2 around jungle inferno it’s nice coming back here after 4 years
@@AfterBreakfast1WAIT A MINUTE YOUR NOT SQUIM JIM

After almost a year, we finally see more TFC vs TF2…
Talking about the best scenerio that could happen with unlocks, Solider does a rocket jump with airstrike and mantrats or how those boots are spelled, and hits every rocket, then Marketgarden tfc solider with damage from boots as well xD
Soldier basically has the advantage with unlocks
yes
Damn, it’s been a year
it actually would be kinda nice to have a shot gun that does better damage at midrange so ye I would advocate for the double barrel shotgun to be added as a new soldier secondary in tf2
probably could have modded in an exact replica of the tfc soldier and had some people duke it out in an mge setting to get some points for either side
The reason why I assume the insendiary cannon and Rock luchar haver that dmg inconsistency, is because maybe TFC still has the old removed mechanic of random dmg spread that tf2 used to have
[Administrator "VICTORY" sound effect]
Glad the channel survived
i have been waiting for this for so long
I love the original original user joke, because tf2 soldiers name is Jane doe
You definitely underestimate how bad the TFC rocket launcher’s random damage is. Two pros would definitely result in a Tf2 Solly W.
9:26 „u got Games on your phone?“
tfc soldier watching 31 manthread strength soldiers form a pile on his shoulders
I've been waiting for this!
A guy with a Classic Crowbar vs a guy with a WW2 Shovel
TF2 soider would just break both TFC Soider arms and then Strangle him to near death whole punching him, like he did to scout in the tf2 comics so tf2 soider would win.
I'm willing to bet that soldier is all out larger than TFC so a fistfight would be interesting
Soldier literally can go naked and punch so hard that in the process snapped the neck his opponent.
why is tf2 soldier doing the default fists neutral pose on the thumbnail
the double barrel shotgun uses the spas 12 from half life 1 which *does* have a double barrel function.
If you do spy you need to put in a gag with the Spy vs Spy theme.
are you ever gonna do engi? i read somewhere that the big reason the tf2 launch maps feel so bad to play is because they were lifted out of TFC without taking into account that engi was weaker in classic and i wanna see that put to the test
legendary series is back BABY
I can’t wait for Civilian vs. Payload
I mean if you are going to give TFC bunnyhopping you should give TF2 all their weapons.
You know, if you where to include the spell book, one of the few extra default items that has no mode restrictions, and the one that it does have being able to be activated at any time, it would be an interesting way to deal with the B-hopping and grenades. Then again, it may be too broken, as that and the unlocks would give TF2 soldier a very large advantage against TFC soldier, but it would be nice to include the default power items.
so in other words the 100 damage fall off its an bug but if that bug was fixed he would just killed the tf2 soldier if he could hit him directly
I feel like it would have been neat to mention in round 3 that soldier does have a grenade he can use
could be mentioned, but he can only do that with the escape plan/equalizer, which breaks the "stock only" rule. also, TF2 soldier uses the grenade in a taunt kill, which are inherently impractical to use and borderline useless in direct combat (not to mention soldier kills himself using the taunt unless he finds a ceiling at just the right height)
im sad that im 8 months late to this
12:52 you maybe go fix it
