@@oscarhaynes1994 It's mainly to get away from the motorcycle licenses. It still has to be registered. In all of my years of working on mopeds I have never seen a bent rod but I would suggest a flat slide carb taller final gears and lighter rollers there will be plenty difference and should hit around 50

Yo I litrally can not beleve how good your videos are I’m just addicted to watching your engine builds I’d love it if u do a video replacing the piston with the whole context I’m going to get a quad and try it
@@PraskaBoysGarage yes the whole top end I’m getting a 110 but it need new piston and valves your video how to rebuild the head is so good u explained everything but I can’t find one of someone doing a piston replacement I’m full context
Cool conversion from a Chuckus to a Ruckus with the Chuckus look. Try updating the engine to the 150cc one in the Honda PCX150. I've had my stock PCX on the highway hitting 70 and still getting 100 MPG around town. Not as cool as my Honda CTX700 but then the 700 is a 680cc cruiser and not a scooter.
I feel you've got a lot or room to improve on that. I did a similar kit and sliders on my ex's taotao and I can hit 46mph on the gps. Good luck, they're a lot of fun,
I agree! Trying to hit top speeds when it's 15 degrees outside with no tuning didn't help at all! This spring we will get the CVT dialed in for top performance.
The kits 100% junk so junk it should be illegal to sell it. If you bought a ebay kit like he did you where ripped off sorry. Dont feel so bad cause i learned the hard way aswell wasted $100 on a goofit 100cc kit.. but than i joined Facebook groups study a little and learned clone bikes are worth buying just so you can **hotrod** them its a lot of fun just have to buy NAME BRAND AFTERMARKET PARTS NYC narkra koso ngk oko just to list the best a few other brands other there like Dr pully sliders, gates for belts.. my 50cc **trike** tops at 48mph and could be faster i tuned it for lowend in town riding 35mph roads. With some tuning i can get it up to 50-55 range with new tires and a sprocket (trike chain and belt drive) should be near 60mph and still be able to do "power wheelies"
hey there justin bought the 100cc kit you better buy the 200cc kit and outdo him ill be waiting and watching for that one great vids as always see you on the next one
I have learned so much scooter information in the last month, and I am just scratching the surface! Trust me, if they make a performance upgrade at some point my scooter will get it! Good to hear from you Rob, glad your enjoying the scoot videos!
Man that's great .personally in the UK have to do 30 mph if you haven't passed your bike test....Good news I have and will be building a beast this winter won't do 150 like my present bike but, the grin factor is a definite 20 on a ped ! Stay cool Mon ami no fuck it have a beer!
I know it Kris! I have over $1,400 dollars in parts ready to be installed for my scooter. Unfortunately, I've had a few things come up that has kept me out of the shop but I am hopeful to be back soon!
@@PraskaBoysGarage all good! I used to have one of these and loved working on it. Now I have another scoot I’m working on and love seeing what others do to theirs. Look forward to your return and all the upcoming mods
Your the best RUclipsr to learn from! I have a question, where did you get the 125cc engine stand on the table? I really need one for when I work on my bikes! Much love and appreciate your help from these videos!
I wouldn't consider myself even close to the best but I really appreciate you feel that way! I am working with a CNC guy who can help me make the stands to sell on my website. I actually dropped it off today for them to mock up today!
wow, if the plan up front had just been to swap out a 125 for a 49.9cc it still would not have been a "bad" deal, but yes often you get what you pay for, or you can have some (some) Bob Ross, Happy Accidents along the way.
Nice! You'll like my videos I have coming up. I've spent $1,400 dollars in engine upgrades alone for my white 50cc scooter. I will be putting out videos of me installing them and giving the exact performance gains they give you in top speed and 1/8th mile time. That way we will know which upgrade is the best bang for the buck!
I'm very curious as well. My guess was possibly the performance CDI failed and messed up the timing, or it sucked something up in the intake. Not sure, either way I feel it made for a better video!
Not with that kit. Even with skills at wrenching and tuning a 50mm ebay junk kit MAY get you into 35-40mph range if your lucky normally or average top end after a chaina kit install is 30-35 lol with more lowend thats it. However with good parts you could do a stroker kit (52mm big bore kit) and good cvt carb exhaust and hit the 45-55mph range depending on how you tune it. My icebear mojo pst8-50 has a 139qmb 49.5cc gy6 motor that i fully rebuilt using Narka-NGK-OKO-KOSO-NYC parts about $600 total with some discount codes i had. My trike now tops at 48mph with me 195lbs and hits 48 sooo fast the frontend lifts up on a scooter trike , trust its very impressive 👏 i tuned it for intown riding 35mph roads have that extra 10mph for passing its great 👍
Nice. Do the right shock delete and upgrade the left one with an lower coilover that has a oil can on it. And swap out that rear tire trust me. Do the tire first.
Thanks for the advice! Yeah that tire makes it super difficult to turn. I expected it to be like a normal motorcycle and it wasn't even close. We will be working on my scooter next and when we do the motor swap it will definitely be getting a better set of wheels and tires!
MUCH better compression. But I can't figure out what bent that rod, assuming it was actually made out of some kind of metal. To turn it into a pretzel like that, the small end almost had to hit something. But what. The small end is inside the piston. Which means the piston had to hit something. If it had hit a valve, there would be a bent valve and probably at least some damage to the top of the piston, but there wasn't. Had there been a foreign object in the combustion chamber or a too long plug, there would have still been damage to the top of the piston. It was the side of the bent rod that hit the cylinder that broke the chunk out of it. That happened after the rod was already badly bent. A real puzzle, unless I am missing something. Of course who knows what the previous owner may have done. He may have replaced the piston and/or a valve and never noticed the rod. Or did see it and decided it was time to give up. And with the rod bent that bad, it would have shortened the stroke considerably. I'm amazed it had any compression at all. There must have been over an inch between the top of the piston and the head at TDC with the rod bent like that.
I could not believe it ran in the first video to be honest! With absolutely no rod knock or anything! We are assuming he vapor locked it at some point and ran it into a big puddle or something. Either way, it's wild!
@@scootersonlyrepair6773 Don't think it would last to long. so ... I'm actually not that heavy and mine will get up to 40ish. I just watch this guy's videos because I think he is really good at what he is doing.

I got this comment on my other scooter video also. We plan to put them on but here is my question. GY6 motors are built to be enclosed with most scooters having plastic coverings all around them. This scooter is different with the motor being completely exposed. With that being said is it still 100% necessary to have them on for this specific scooter?
Hey man, Im really enjoying your videos. These are fun not so expensive projects. I currently have one on the go and bought an atv with a 110 cc engine.Im fixing it for my daughter. I am looking to do the same thing as I have a engine I took out of my icebear . As I let it run low on oil two times . Now I check my oil all the time. I only ask did you use a stock crank or something like the one I am looking at. A Naraku Performance crank for $109.86 tolal .
No, I finished off the almost empty bottle I had and then used about half of the second. These scooters take 750ml or roughly 3/4 of a quart and that's exactly how much I used and confirmed it with the dipstick it was good.
Any advice on where I can get the rear shock and muffler bracket. Seems to be a ghost part. Or is there a way to move the rear right side shock so that the pmz50-19 will be supported properly on a single shock?

I see you've worked on a few gy6s great love to see it.. but you need to look into the aftermarket parts its night and day! Take 2 tao-tao atm50s put a cheap ebay kit on 1 than put a GOOD name brand kit on the other.. 1 bike will not only be way slower topping around 35-40 but will blow up sooner than later.. the other will top in the 50s and last years

It's crazy how much the price of the atm50 has gone up in the last 2 years. But you say with a cheap big bore kit it will top out at 35-40 that's how fast they go stock.
how do i fix a polaris 90cc sportsman quad it runs but it won’t turn off and i have to pull of the spark plug to turn off i can disconnect the key and it still won’t turn off and i can also start it without the key or holding the breaks

Yo I’ve got my new quad it’s a 110cc and I’ve pulled the whole wiring harness out and put a new spark plug in it but do I need electric to start it it’s a kick start aswell but I’m confused there is no electric at all but duno if it will start
You need some kind of wiring harness. At a minimum, you can buy a dirt bike 110cc harness that doesn't have wiring for headlights or tail lights. You need spark, so that means you have to have a Stator, CDI box, and coil at least.
The flywheel is a non lubricated part that doesn't make contact with anything. Should be rotating freely. If you have smoke coming from the flywheel I would assume it rubbing on something.
Hey bud one simple question. I have a 125cc taotao f125 and im having high idle issues could it be the wrong carb on it? Is there a site that helps me know the actual measurements
I'm not sure if there is a website with details but a 125cc should have a PZ20 carb on it. If your getting a high idle you need make sure your throttle cable has slack in it first. Then adjust your idle screw on the carb. After your idle is set then you can take the slack out of your cable.
Where do you order your engine parts from. My son has a Longbo 50cc. Mini chopper that i need to locate some parts for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

In all of my years of working on mopeds I have never seen a bent rod but I would suggest a flat slide carb taller final gears and lighter rollers there will be plenty difference and should hit around 50
Absolutely man! I plan to do all that and more. I want to max out the 50cc I bought and have a series on how much the performance parts actually help and which ones are a waste of time! After that it's going to the 150cc+++ club!
@@PraskaBoysGarage 150 club sounds good if you plan on modding them heavily I’d suggest a 232 kit as there bullet proof at that point I have customers coming in every week with blown 150’s bc they beat on them I have a 232 it’s properly geared with efi and on 12’ rims hits 120+
Make sure to put the plastic shrouds back on or it will overheat otherwise that nice build
Yes, we did for sure! Didn't at first but the comments got me worried as soon as I posted it!
Ha. From my comment on the last episode,
I knew you were going to up the CC's. No matter how you tweeked the 50cc, I don't believe you would have had the same power output. Nice.
Yep! I have bigger plans for mine, I'll just keep going up in size until I'm satisfied!
Crazyy how that rod was bent but she still ran
I couldn't believe it! Made for a great part 2 of the scooter build though!
Awesome content! The PBG Shop Cat moved pretty quick (LOL) when you busted out of the shop on the "Ch-uckus" just sending it to make it to the driveway! One other note...double check your link to the Compression Tester. I believe its taking us to a main page rather than the item (I'm assuming its an affiliate link so thought you would want to know - socket link seems to be working as expected). Thanks again!
Thanks Michael, glad you liked the video! Also thanks for the heads up, I'll update the link!
Yo I litrally can not beleve how good your videos are I’m just addicted to watching your engine builds I’d love it if u do a video replacing the piston with the whole context I’m going to get a quad and try it
Thanks! I am glad to hear you enjoy them! So your saying you would like to see a step by step "How To" for the kit?

Cool conversion from a Chuckus to a Ruckus with the Chuckus look. Try updating the engine to the 150cc one in the Honda PCX150. I've had my stock PCX on the highway hitting 70 and still getting 100 MPG around town. Not as cool as my Honda CTX700 but then the 700 is a 680cc cruiser and not a scooter.
had the same scoot with a big bore kit and a few other supporting mods. hit 55 once or twice believe it or not. could cruise at 45mph no problem.
Nice! Yeah that's the plan this spring. I think with proper transmission tuning we can get there too!
Lol, Thanks Paul! Cheers!
We need you back working this one and tuning it for best performance lol
I know it Kris! I have over $1,400 dollars in parts ready to be installed for my scooter. Unfortunately, I've had a few things come up that has kept me out of the shop but I am hopeful to be back soon!
@@PraskaBoysGarage all good! I used to have one of these and loved working on it. Now I have another scoot I’m working on and love seeing what others do to theirs. Look forward to your return and all the upcoming mods
Your piston was installed backwards most likely from the damage and the bent arm.
Your the best RUclipsr to learn from! I have a question, where did you get the 125cc engine stand on the table? I really need one for when I work on my bikes! Much love and appreciate your help from these videos!

What? He didn't have to freeze the bearing or heat the case to get the crank on. So easy!
That's good. I get 50 mph out of my build on my 2018 Tao Racer 50cc to 100cc
wow, if the plan up front had just been to swap out a 125 for a 49.9cc it still would not have been a "bad" deal, but yes often you get what you pay for, or you can have some (some) Bob Ross, Happy Accidents along the way.
I have all the parts purchased and ready to go for the upcoming 150cc swap! Should be fun to compare the upgrade!
My gen v maddog 49cc goes 35 no problem can’t wait till I put the kit on it
That engine was probably hydrolocked. I can't really think of another way that the rod would get bent without catastrophic top end failure.
I'm very curious as well. My guess was possibly the performance CDI failed and messed up the timing, or it sucked something up in the intake. Not sure, either way I feel it made for a better video!
@@PraskaBoysGarage ignition timing issues are not going to bend a connecting rod. I can pretty much guarantee the previous owner sucked up water.
That moped will fly keep it up man awesome content
Can't wait to start working on mine! Thanks for watching!
My trike now tops at 48mph with me 195lbs and hits 48 sooo fast the frontend lifts up on a scooter trike , trust its very impressive 👏 i tuned it for intown riding 35mph roads have that extra 10mph for passing its great 👍
What kind of rear tire is that
Did you put the fan shroud back on? It could overheat without it.
Awesome build guys!
BJ, welding that mild steel header flange onto the stainless exhaust, did you use any special wire for that on your mig?
Thanks Jason! No, we just sent it! I use the standard Carbon Steel mig wire from Lincoln. Good to hear from you man, Thanks for watching!
It went from the "suckus" to the "hey bud shes not so bad"

How do I find somebody to do this for me?
I cant wait till see you build also
Now that the weather is nice I am getting more and more anxious to start the project too!
Do they make a big bore kit for a 125cc coolster atv? Thanks
I would love to have this done to mine. Right now I just deal with it being a bit slow.

Awesome fearless garage-cat @ 18:04 😉👍 Does this big bore kit also fit a real Ruckus motor?
That's Crackle, she's been an awesome cat! It wont fit on the Ruckus. Those have a completely different "GET" motor.
Long day ahead of us😂 there is no easier mechanical thing to work on then these things.

There's a creator on RUclips called Matthew Cherington who had a ice bear modded it they put a 650cc (I believe) burgman engine in it called it the iceburgh
Nice! I'll have to check it out!
You need to put the cooling plastics back on the engine. If not it will over heat.
I got this comment on my other scooter video also. We plan to put them on but here is my question. GY6 motors are built to be enclosed with most scooters having plastic coverings all around them. This scooter is different with the motor being completely exposed. With that being said is it still 100% necessary to have them on for this specific scooter?
Thanks B J great content.

you just swapped bore kits right? no need to get another engine?

You need some kind of wiring harness. At a minimum, you can buy a dirt bike 110cc harness that doesn't have wiring for headlights or tail lights. You need spark, so that means you have to have a Stator, CDI box, and coil at least.
pls do a "after 1 year" review
hey I just re wired my quad and the flywheel smokes so bad we can’t run it do you know why it’s smoking ?
