  • On this episode of Praska Boy's Garage I rebuild and give back a Chinese 110cc ATV that was in a fire! Without a doubt it was in the worse shape I have ever seen, but who doesn't like a good challenge? Thankfully I was able to find a parts ATV that made the total build price affordable! This rebuild was a blast and completely worth it in the end when I got to give it back to the original owner! Thank you for watching, and like always, I will see you on the next one!

    nice job and very generous of you...one question , I have quite a bit of experience with the ongoing cracks in the frames chinese quads and merely cleaning and rewelding cracks especilly because the cracks are at hi stress points never lasts unless you also add some reinforcement the quad's frame will just recrack again and again??

    • @PraskaBoysGarage
      @PraskaBoysGarage  4 года назад

      You are absolutely right. Adding gussets for reinforcement is probably the best thing you can do to assure it doesn't happen again. In my experience with these chinese atvs is they will find a way to crack regardless of the extra support. I've never had one of my welding points break its always found a new spot!

      fstrthnurmom Thank you for support! I’m glad I’ve been able to help with your projects that my ultimate goal! I really don’t track my hours because it’s my hobby, and in this case I gave the ATV back for free. If I were to guess, I would say maybe 20-25 hours in the shop. My usually costs fall around $300-$350 in parts and I typically sell them for the $450-$500 range. I don’t make much but it’s enough to fund the next project! ;)

    • @mikespain8655
      @mikespain8655 5 лет назад +2

      Unbelievably thoughtful and generous of you to not only rebuild this fire ATV and give it back for free, but also to drive round trip 6 hours for delivery. 25 hours labor (seems awfully low) @ $50/ hour would put labor @ $1250 bucks, plus whatever you spent in parts, plus other parts ATV for $50. You rarely if ever see anyone do that.

Its nice to find a deal but also i love to tinker sobroken is even better , less to perchase and when its done i feel like its better then new ...

      That is the #1 most asked question on my channel! I originally purchased the stand off eBay back in 2018, however the seller is hit and miss when they are listed. So I've decided to start working on manufacturing my own! Might be a little bit but once I'm ready I will be making a video for the launch!

    What type of paint stripper do you use for the body?

    • @PraskaBoysGarage

      I used Klean-Strip Aerosol to strip the paint and you can purchase from a local home store like Home Depot. Here is a link: www.homedepot.com/p/Klean-Strip-16-oz-Premium-Stripper-Aerosol-CA-Formula-EKPS302SC/311799645

    • @PraskaBoysGarage
      @PraskaBoysGarage  4 года назад +1

      There are only a few options to choose from when searching for plastics. VMC chinese parts have almost all of them to purchase and I search those to see what best looks like mine.

    I use that truck bed paint a lot on all my frames use it on my Skidoo rails Ski-Doo skis I paint everything with that stuff even did my patio set a few years back and it still looks good and it holds up well over time and so much harder to chip than paint but if you want that smooth shiny look you'll never get it with this stuff.

    What do I use to paint atv plastic and make it look good and shiny

    • @PraskaBoysGarage
      @PraskaBoysGarage  2 года назад

      The best quality paint to get that holds up well is from Eastwood. It's called 2K aerosol paint that has a hardener so it is a more durable paint that looks great. Better than your standard spray cans.

It has 3 mounting plates for different types of small engines. Definitely money well spent for my shop!
