Yeah, no. This is horrible advice, and is only true if the original springs are known for being flimsy. This a very LAST thing to do. Please stop giving advice, until you know what you're talking about. Thanks.
Good job man ! You are one of many people who makes me buy a motorcycle and get my licence, now i ride a Ducati Monster since at least 1 year ! Just a big thanks from a french guy ! Keep going !
I didn't finish the entire video to see if you fixed the rear brakes but if you didn't what you can do is use the attachable nozzle on a can of lubricant (I use WD-40) and spray it into the brake line and it loosens it up. I used this method on my brothers Honda xr80 when the brakes kept sticking.
I had the exact same issue when I built my fatty GY6 swapped ruckus. I bought a slightly shorter brake cable, and sprayed wd40 down the casing. It now snaps back with no issue and can lock up the rear wheel. Love the build so far!
6FootLife Yes, that mountain scene on the nursery was the highlight. forget starting the ruckus. the wolves and the trees were legit. and fried tofu wraps. Abby is the bomb. it's so cute she is showing now.
safety for your wife, she needs a step stool for her to work on instead of climbing on the sink, many an accident has happened that way. May I suggest, a little giant ladder could be very useful. (and I mean the legitimate LG ladders not the harbor freight knock-offs) Real LGs are very sturdy and can be used as step ladders, come equipped with wheels for easy mobility, can come with built-in leg steadying system or with separate attachments. Wide single platforms for individual height needs, or even a long platform for walking along a wall or ceiling without having to going up and down. I got one for my mother, she has high ceilings and light fixtures out of reach, it folds down to a 4ft step ladder, and extends to a full 16ft extension ladder. They do come in bigger sizes if needed, and they do cost a pretty penny.
A satisfied customer and concerned individual for peoples safety. I don't want to see nor hear of Mrs. Motonosity have being injured accidentally or worse and I suggested an item that is safety oriented with lots of features and options.
The Lone Cowboy Of Oklahoma I love how this guy does stupid stuff on bikes for a living, yet you're concerned that his wife doesn't have a step stool... Anyway chill bro, you can fall off a ladder too. Just don't fall and you won't get hurt! Also, harbor freight is great for 99% of people's needs, unless you do something professionally then harbor freight tools/equipment works fine.
I've fallen off one thanks, I don't want to do that again. And if a pregnant female happens to fall, she could lose the child. I don't want that to happen, or Moto lose any reason to carry on making his vids.
The Lone Cowboy Of Oklahoma You can still fall off a ladder? It's just kinda silly to me to go spend money on a ladder when you have a perfectly good sink! The point I'm trying to make is that a ladder won't really make it safer, if a person is being careless, they will just as likely fall from a ladder as they would a sink or counter.
Im diggin the new format of videos, they are awesome. I can tell youre putting everyone of your passions into, thats what makes it fantastic. Thanks for the content bud.
Listen! I can smell the light at the end of the tunnel! About the brakes, I never had a problem like that but did you try lubing the cable and the pivoting point of the lever? If there's too much friction the spring/lever won't be able to return it obviously. You could also try putting a second spring on or try putting a spacer onto the Part of the (swingarm?) the spring is pressing against, which would compress it more and give it more oomph. Otherwise your spring might have skipped QC and something went wrong in Production but. Just make sure everything there is nicely lubed and not too tight (which might cause that issue too)
It is ALIVE! Muah, ah, ha, ha, ha, ha! Dang, I was stoked too! Special thanks to Abs. And the mountains in baby's room are such a special touch. Mom's just have that way about them. Great vid. Peace!
In the past few videos I've been commenting about everything but the actual Ruckus, which is actually awesome, I've never seen a modded ruckus like that before, it's original and the motor sounds great, good luck with finishing off the project and also good luck to Abby and the baby!
Road Bandit do it man. make sure you get the 47mm kit not the 50mm. The 47mm which is sold as a 80cc is really 72cc if you do the math. your stock crank will be able to take it. if you get the 50mm 100cc your crank will fail after around 2k miles if your always wot. my gy6 hauls ass with the 47mm. i can hit 45 flat ground with a little more to go. i would suggest a Glixel kit and use your stock head and buy a a9 cam. if you decide to go with a 50mm piston make sure you use a bigger head not the stock one.
Starting my first Ruckus build. Got my gy6 ready to go. Your vlog is going to be on repeat the whole time, brother! Awesome job and thanks for the step-by-step. So refreshing compared to the scooter snobs I run into online when I have a question. Cheers!
Hey dude! I've been loving the daily vlogs, they come out while I'm asleep and I watch them first thing when I wake up! keep up the awesome work, and I hope you have daily vlogs forever!
Badass! :D Really like the half-time switch to something different (more life vlog style) too. Same with a previous one where you just made 3 cuts with life vlogs. It's really nice to have that change of pace. The sound of that Ruckus is absolutely awesome. Keep it up!
That's awesome your doing the 180 big bore kit, with the right variator set up and clutch set up its going to be really fast for a scooter! You will be very surprised! Thank you for the awesome video!
Correct me if I'm wrong, at 12:09 that wavy cable that runs to the back looks like the rear brake line. If it is that cable has to be straight or the friction of that cable against the housing will be to great for the return springs.
For the rear brake sticking, there is a little rectangle piece in the drum that turns to push the brake shoes out, put some grease on that and only that. For me, I had a little bit of grime or something on the brake shoes and WI stopped the brakes from releasing.
I don't know how long you've been doing it, but those transitions are real nice. It's cool to see the quality of your vids go up like they have recently.
On my adelin front brakes. I removed the pads and pushed in the pistons with a C-clamp. Just that small action alone release enough air out of the top, and I was then able to bleed my brakes normally.
i had a similar issue with the rear brake on my bmx. i found out that one of the curves was too sharp in the cable, so try and keep the cables as straight as possible, solved it for me
For bleeding the front brake line you could try disconnecting the line at the caliper and hold it up as high as you can and pump the lever to prime the line with fluid, similar to how you primed the fuel line (rag over the end obviously, there will be mess). Then pinch the banjo with your fingers to try to minimise leakage and quickly connect it back to the caliper and resume bleeding as normal - should help! Another thing I've overlooked in the past is to make sure you can get full travel out of the brake lever when bleeding, i.e. you can pull it right back to the bars without obstruction and/or the lever adjuster if present allows full travel. Good luck!
I had an issue with sticking choke cable on my 240z, as well as similar issues with mechanical brakes on other bikes. Same with cable clutches on old VWs. White lithium grease inside the cable sleeve helps. If you can find the stuff that comes in an aerosol I would suggest that. Point the red straw into the cable sleeve/ housing and spray till it comes out the other side. Also check the bushings in you lever for burs, and make sure the lever operates smoothly and is greased.
Had that same issue on a GY6150 Tao Tao I built, it helped tremendously when I got the rear cable as straight as possible.Stronger spring will help with it as well. Good luck with that rear brake, even with it set up correctly those drum brakes are very weak.
The rear brake system seems to be a cable running through a housing. Try lubricating the cable and housing, and check the friction on both the handlebar lever and the drum brake lever
Getting stronger strings would probably solve the rear brake issue and your one of the best you tuners ever, you put so much work into all your videos and they come out every day your truly great at you tubing.
To bleed the front brake, pump fluid out of the bottom bleed valve, that way you will pressurise the system. Had to do that on my Virago yesterday, and it worked amazingly! The brakes have never felt better😉
i really have a lot of respect for you the way you build bikes i do it the same way clean and correct con grats on you becoming a new dad you will be a great mentor god bless you both
Hey, for the rear brakes, maybe try to index the arm farther in so the springs put more load on them (and lube/adjust the cable accordingly). And I think the issue with the front brake is the elbow pointing up above the bleeder, trapping air in the part above the bleeder. Worth a try, good luck!
To fix that rear brake problem what you need to do is put some bigger and stronger springs on there.
And check if there is a kink in the cable that causes the problem! Because you had some extra cable to mount somewhere..
EnKay Moto that happend with mine
Yeah, no. This is horrible advice, and is only true if the original springs are known for being flimsy. This a very LAST thing to do.
Please stop giving advice, until you know what you're talking about. Thanks.
If it is the spring you can get stronger springs but not to strong so you can squeeze the lever but not larger
rustler08 damn someone's mad
Good job man ! You are one of many people who makes me buy a motorcycle and get my licence, now i ride a Ducati Monster since at least 1 year ! Just a big thanks from a french guy ! Keep going !

Chris Giunta I was just typing that
haha I guess it's pretty common
Chris Giunta yea i did that to
Chris Giunta i was going to write the same thing 👍🏻 i totally agree
same lol
I had the exact same issue when I built my fatty GY6 swapped ruckus. I bought a slightly shorter brake cable, and sprayed wd40 down the casing. It now snaps back with no issue and can lock up the rear wheel. Love the build so far!
you can put oil in brake cable
mario kovacic graphite powder might work better, oil will eventually sticky and make the problem worse
Albert Ales maybe or wd 40
forget the bike, that paint job by the wifey is NICE!
6FootLife his wife didn't do the paint job, you can see what he did for it in other episodes
Evan Fusco No i think they mean the paint job on the wall!
6FootLife Yes, that mountain scene on the nursery was the highlight. forget starting the ruckus. the wolves and the trees were legit. and fried tofu wraps. Abby is the bomb. it's so cute she is showing now.
In the beginning I didn't like the 'life-vlogs' but now I really start to like them. Keep doing an awesome job! :)
Kudos to Abby on the baby room! That wall she painted looks awesome!
2:41 I wish I had about 4 or 5 extra inches.
awesome painting Abby has done for the nursery and your face when it started, smilies say it all I think!

what kind of a sales person are you?

I don't know if it's just me but I really enjoy the music he puts on with the video!!
Packers are awesome with that dope catch
The baby's room looks awesome! Your wife did a great job painting.
hahaha the look on your face when it started up
It's alive! Love it! I'm excited!! Congratulations
Abi's paint job is awesome dude!
She sounds ace dude!
Thanks bro!
The painting in the nursery is pretty awesome! She's got skills...
Just lube up the brake wire
F!l!p graphite powder
That face you made when it started/ reved it was just pure sign of happyness
try spraying some graphite in the cable sleeve
Im diggin the new format of videos, they are awesome. I can tell youre putting everyone of your passions into, thats what makes it fantastic. Thanks for the content bud.

Definitely one of the best feelings out their, a ruckus starting on the first try after a rebuild!! Congrats!
i think u can fix the brake problem by lubing the brake and puting a stronger spring
It is ALIVE! Muah, ah, ha, ha, ha, ha! Dang, I was stoked too! Special thanks to Abs. And the mountains in baby's room are such a special touch. Mom's just have that way about them. Great vid. Peace!
try your local hardware store and try a heavier duty spring for the brakes
In the past few videos I've been commenting about everything but the actual Ruckus, which is actually awesome, I've never seen a modded ruckus like that before, it's original and the motor sounds great, good luck with finishing off the project and also good luck to Abby and the baby!
it's the GY6 50CC ? i got the same but im thinking about putting a 80cc big bore kit
Road Bandit do it man. make sure you get the 47mm kit not the 50mm. Road Bandit it's 150cc
can i fit a Quad rim Wheel or a stretched wheel on the 50 cc engine ?
I've been waiting since 1:00 !!
Keep up the good work bro
Same thing happened to me for the brakes I just put wd40 on the joint
Starting my first Ruckus build. Got my gy6 ready to go. Your vlog is going to be on repeat the whole time, brother! Awesome job and thanks for the step-by-step. So refreshing compared to the scooter snobs I run into online when I have a question. Cheers!

Noah Reeves same
Noah Reeves seems legit
views on youtube never update in real time.
Noah Reeves :D
I am SO buying a ruckus now... Great series and an even better channel. thanks for the hard work this week!
Oil the brake cable
I really enjoy most of the music you play, nothing I'd listen to daily but it's a good selection
Too many radius' in your brake cable will cause it not to return freely..
or too tight of a radius will also cause problems..
Hey dude! I've been loving the daily vlogs, they come out while I'm asleep and I watch them first thing when I wake up! keep up the awesome work, and I hope you have daily vlogs forever!
The legend says that if you are early, he will reply¿
kevin lengerhuis nope
kevin lengerhuis if you want him to reply just tweet him, I always tweet him and he always replys
Supermoto Skippy true
the legend 27
Ian Duijsens i fucking KNEW. Someone was going to say that.
I like the way the videos have gone this week. Also your transitions are on point.
it's because you had to bend the cable so it's not straight and easy to slide up and down through the cover.
I had the same problem, I took it apart and lubed it up and it worked

One thousand thumbs up. I will need to check out more of your daily vlogs to see more of your dog.

your wife is an aaarrrrtiisssttt! good job girl! wish we could have had a hand painted nursery for my three
That cashier transition was so smooth.
That thing sounds absolutely sick!
That's awesome your doing the 180 big bore kit, with the right variator set up and clutch set up its going to be really fast for a scooter! You will be very surprised! Thank you for the awesome video!

+100 editing
omg that sounds so amazing... allready in love with that thing! can't wait to see you ride it, keep up the good work.
love the shopping editing! very cool. Abby did a great job painting as well, wauw! those wolves :o

i have a honda st50. the thingy on the end of your brake line (rear) needs to be tighter. that worked for me!
lovin the nursery!! so glad there's other ppl out there, other than myself and my husband, that don't think a girl's room has to be all pink!! 😁
For the rear brake sticking, there is a little rectangle piece in the drum that turns to push the brake shoes out, put some grease on that and only that. For me, I had a little bit of grime or something on the brake shoes and WI stopped the brakes from releasing.
What I feel like needs to be done, is lubricating the rear brake line. Give that a try before anything else. Loving the build!
Super excited ya got it started!! Can't wait to see it done.
I don't know how long you've been doing it, but those transitions are real nice. It's cool to see the quality of your vids go up like they have recently.
good job man, very satisfying to here it fire up. you know you do your job right when it fires right up like that.
Stoked for you Bro. Great vlog again and love the more personal layout.
These videos have been freaking awesome! Please keep it up!
totally dig the camera work on the video with the walk by and kinda cinematic like action really good
loving these mixed up vlogs keep up the awesome work!
Your scene switches are always so cool !
On my adelin front brakes. I removed the pads and pushed in the pistons with a C-clamp. Just that small action alone release enough air out of the top, and I was then able to bleed my brakes normally.
YES I've been waiting for half an hour just sitting on my bed, watching some videos refreshing your channel and just waiting😂
Holy cow that paint job was awesome!!!!
Haha right when it started up....that face....I know that face haha pure happiness:) congratulations looks great! Can't wait to see u riding it!

+zerpexan Thanks man. Yeah I never imagined I'd get much stopping power. Still would like them somewhat functional though haha.
Amazing work! Love that sound of the exhaust!
The rear brake system seems to be a cable running through a housing. Try lubricating the cable and housing, and check the friction on both the handlebar lever and the drum brake lever
Something like triflow or PB Blaster will work best for the lubricant. Stay away from WD-40 for stuff like that.
Getting stronger strings would probably solve the rear brake issue and your one of the best you tuners ever, you put so much work into all your videos and they come out every day your truly great at you tubing.

Great work! ! Glad for you that it started so easy, i know the feeling! Keep up the good work! Love your videos, top quality production!
I like the daily Vlogs with some ruckus building
I bought a key tag for my 1966 Chevy Corvair! I would put it for my 4-Wheeler but i drive the Corvair more, thanks for the discount!
This video didn't stop being awesome the whole way through.
Ive run in to that problem before. i just put two more springs on it and that gave it enough push back to work right
