    I'm sure someone has mentioned it already, but in case they haven't ... that whole blowing in your tank crap in the morning can easily be solved with a bulb pump in the gas line. A bulb pump like on a small outboard boat motor. fuel only goes one direction through it, and a few squeezes up the bulb, will prime the engine and get rid of all the air in the line. Bob in Germany

  • @Carlow888
    @Carlow888 6 лет назад +60

    Your launch problem is maybe due to having a bigger primary jet than the carb can take or needs and drowns it with fuel and when you released and throttle again, the fuel levels out correctly again.

    • @Carlow888
      @Carlow888 6 лет назад +8

      Primary mainly deals with launching or the initial idle and throttle up. So it the jet is too big or too small, it affects both idle and launch.. set it just right and you can idle as low as possible and launch like a drag bike...

      @@Carlow888 - I dunno...I also experience this on my stock Ruckus. But, I'm also replacing the carb like this week... *shrug*

      Will Rayne MC hopefully it’s just the carb.. but wish it’s not electrical.. but usually it’s a carb problem fuel or air flow problem. Even with stock..

    I used a fuel check valve from a stock Ruckus to keep the fuel from draining back into the tank. I never have to "make love" to the tank. Its part #16800-GET-831. Do the rear disc brake conversion, makes the bike way safer when stopping.

Some cosmetics too, but over all the ruck is fun in the city. Not sure where all the hate comes from. It’s really a nice little thing!

  • @Glasseh

    Can't you just put a small hand pump or something in-line with the fuel line so that you can hand pump the fuel? Just look for something called 'fuel primer bulb'.

  • @Liberty4Ever
    @Liberty4Ever 4 года назад +1

    A good check valve in the fuel line may solve your leak down problem. You could also run a wire from the battery via a small fuse to a push button PRIME switch that powers the fuel pump before the engine is started. Most bikes run the fuel pump when the key is in the ON position to pressurize the fuel lines before the starter switch engages the starter.

    • @forrestcrabbe
      @forrestcrabbe 2 года назад

      The check valve is a good idea. The fuel pump is a vacuum pump not an electric pump. That's why it drains back to the tank. Leaving the factory ruckus electric fuel pump on is the way to go.

    From looking at your launch it has nothing to do with the clutch but everything to do with a bad tune to your carb. from idle your motor dont like jumping to full throttle. Thats telling me your needle needs adjustment. On gy6's you need to tune for temperature as well im sure if you tuned before the summer you are running rich now.

    Sounds like I fuel prob. If the clutch was slipping it would rev to the moon an not really go anywhere. It sounds like it’s to rich. It dumps to much fuel and can’t rev up enough to start burning it. But as soon as u let off an get moving it’s under less load and revving higher allowing it to burn the rich mixture. I’d start with setting the float height then if that doesn’t work go down a main jet size. Jets only work based on throttle position so if it’s doing it at wide open that’s the problem

    I'm a new but older interested guy in doing something like this. I see the Honda modified ones end up with new motor-swing arm shocks wheels and tires that look cool, and end up spending lots more to do it to the factory original honda. I'm finding here at the end of 2022 these Maddog Chinese knockoffs for what I believe is 2200.00 bucks that are already looking good with the bigger engine, wheels, and tires and stretched. whats the Ruckus group of guys' thoughts on this.

    As for you 5th problem was caused by fuel delivery system.
    You simply can get enough fuel to mix with air.
    There are lots of solutions to deal with this kind of problem by scooter drag racing kits in TW.
    Do some homework and go for them.

    you should change your gears on your ruckus, you would have a better top speed/ could go to 100 mph

    Put a small
    prime ball in your fuel line like on a boat smaller

    Damn the Ruckus sounds like it's running so rough.. long time since the jet was cleaned?
    esit: Brent, considered doing a gy6 injection-conversion kit on it?

      I'd stay away from the FI kits right now. Only 2 real kits out here in the states. One is still in testing stages. The other that has been out forever has tons of bugs and customer support is zero.

      neo 71665 Rolling Wrench already has a kit for it, hell it's probably on the youtube-channel. Complete kit, all you need (fuel-pump with return too, like the others have neglected)

      Stay away lots of people have got that kit and call us bitching and they go back to carb

      The Ruck Shop you guys do not carry that kit, particularly since it just released like 2 months ago I have my doubts that you guys would be getting calls about a pretty much brand new product you do not even carrying in your store.
      So that just makes it seem like you're trying to discourage people from buying from other stores than your own..

      on the contrary, we get a fair amount of phone calls since that kit has been out for longer than 2 months, we have been doing this a long time and those kits are just squirter kits and not true to fi kits out there. we have had customers with 171cc setups like motonosity go to that "kit that we are steering people away from getting" that is also found on alibaba to add in, but back to the customer who did that setup... with a 171 and tuned on a dyno he only hit 58mph.... went to the carb and now does 75 with the same guy tuning the bike. but hey you know better than us. we just do this everyday hahah.
