This episode might feel like peak B5, but that's not even close yet. This is just the beginning of the epic that is to come. Welcome back Jones!
Thank you Petro! I can't wait to see where season 3 is going to go!! Although I must confess this reaction was actually recorded over 4 months ago so I will need to do a bit of catching up before I release my latest one (currently up to 3x4) haha
Season 2 finale ... "a big leap in the fight for renewal"
Season 3 finale ... "an even bigger leap in the fight for renewal" (and an epic storyline)
And so it begins
Season 3 takes things to a whole new level.
Glad to see you back, season 3 is incredible.
Note when the Shadow vessel turned and fired if you look closely when Warren Keffer screams, the SFX people made his face melt (the actor didn't actually know until he saw it either), so it's sadly RIP Warren Keffer.
... and season 4 gets even better, after a few mindblowing arcs in season 3.
Keffer was pointless ... and forced upon JMS by the studio. You CANT have a "hotshot pilot" in a universe where "a silly little fighter" ISNT the biggest bird in the air; that works for Top Gun but not for a gnat.
I do feel a little sorry for the actor who played Keffer, the character was the result of a note from the studio so JMS killed him off at the first opportunity. Afterwards, JMS stopped getting notes from studio execs :D
Vorlons are angels - or whatever the holy equivalent is in a culture. They've been visiting planets for many centuries and have 'adjusted' the people on those planets to see their culture's angel when they see a Vorlon. They are sooooooo much more powerful than the other races on B5. We kinda knew it already, but this just confirms it.
Season 3 really is one of the best seasons of television, not just sci-fi, ever. From now on EVERY EPISODE but two in seasons 3, 4, & 5 were written by JMS. This leads to some really wild, consistent, excellent, and downright mind-blowing story telling. The roller coaster is just now cresting over the big hill. Hang on. it's a wild ride.
"Vorlons are angels" is the wrong way of putting it ... "angels are vorlons" is the correct way and since they are NOT "ANGELIC" ... JMS kinda says "religions are FAKE".
One key part is also the revealed fact that "everyone saw something different", which means ... it's not their REAL FORM, it is just their PROJECTED FORM (which is why it is exhausting).
Sign a non-aggression treaty to guarantee peace in our time...
Great to see you back! And can't wait to see what you make of the next seasons...
Mr Wells annoys you because you recognise him for what he is just like Ivanova does.
Always trust your gut when it's giving you bad vibes about something. Our brains only take note of about 10% of what our senses take in from around us but your gut gets a feel for the other 90% of it.
He is annoying because "slimy people/WORMS like him always survive and fall up the stairs, getting another more prestigious job". He does survive (even though it isnt shown here).
I love you for finding Londo irredeemable. Even though he remains a compelling character, even often likeable and incredible to watch, even sometimes sympathetic and poignant, I also find him irredeemable. Some people cross a permanent line. In my opinion, he did. Even if someone's victims eventually forgive, even if someone works to atone in some way, sometimes it's okay to find something so unacceptable that you can't see them the same way again, ever. I love his character and writing because of this. (Good to see you back!)
Exactly, despite London's redeemable traits it still doesn't change the fact he's committed these actions and crossed the line where I feel there's no point of return, as despite him being somewhat naïve and ignorant to the Shadows, and also feeling like he's not in control; he was the one to start it all, and had many chances to stop (especially when Vir told him to) and that for me solidifies himself as irredeemable for his actions (I still love his character through, even if he is irredeemable haha) - Good to be back!!
A hand reaching out...billions screaming his name.
He wad warnend and of course he didn't listen and I guess he will indeed pay for his mistakes.
John Vickery, who plays Mr Wells, may seem familiar to you. He previously played Neroon of the Minbari Warrior Caste.
He is so good as Mr. Welles. George Orwell 1984, not exactly a subtle hint in the character's naming.
Also, 'It's the thought that counts' is reminiscent of Thoughtcrime, what the Ministry of Peace are interested in knowing about.
Keffer was a character the studio mandated (someone thought a hot-shot fly-boy character would be great). JMS said he hated that kind of character, and kinda insinuated with the actor that he'd be back. Ha-ha. But he died. (The character, not the actor.) The end. JMS got his way.
Hearing you talk about philosophy it’s no surprise you are enjoying Babylon 5! Subscribed to follow your B5 journey.
finally! You gave me a gift for Christmas and New Year. Thank you! All the best to you and your channel!
This is a great episode and I hope you're life outside the channel is excellent as well
Thank you Dale, everything is going really good at the minute, just a shame I haven't been uploading frequently on the RUclips and Patreon but I'm going to be fully committing to growing this channel and reacting to more shows etc so expect more reactions in the not so near future!!
It's hard to react with only the sound sadly.

@@JonesReactions Awsome!
Nice to see you back
It’s the thought that counts. My favorite line. 25:33
I have been waiting for months for your reation to this episode and 3 more bomb shell moments to come,.
Merry Christmas, happy honoka. Whatever. I'm in Thailand at the moment.and, its party central.. 5.17 AM I'm buzzing. Cant sleep.Glad your back.
Merry Christmas man! Sounds like you're having a blast enjoy Thailand and good luck sleeping after all that partying hahaha!!
You're BACK!!! 🎉
I've always wondered if Londo really did see nothing. I feel if he really saw nothing, he would be more confused or mocking of everyone, but he seems generally crushed. I think he saw the Centauri equivalent of an angel, and it was confirmation that he really was on the side of darkness. Of course, he couldn't admit it, so he just said, "Nothing."
Just a theory of mine.
It's a good question. The Centauri have multiple gods and keep making new ones by promoting emperors to god hood. It was mentioned in passing a while back that Londo couldn't keep track of how many gods they have. It's possible that with so many deities the Centauri don't have one image of a being of light. It is also possible that by working with the Shadows, Londo's soul has been blackened enough that he can't see the angelic form. IIR, the former emperor never saw Kosh outside the encounter suit, so we don't have a reference there.
Unless the Centauri have been agents of the Shadows in the previous wars keeping the Vorlons out .
He does look confused during the event. Everyone else is enraptured and Londo looks up puzzled, squinting to see what everyone is talking about. You would think he would have seen something, however.
In general, it's just a great line to illustrate how Londo has fallen from godliness, so to speak. And he is disappointed. He could have used a little divine intervention at this point in time and now I think he feels confirmation that he is damned, as the Emperor told him he would be. On that note, one would have to ask what the other Centauri saw, if any happened to witness the event.
It's one of my favorite lines because it works so well on a metaphorical basis, as long as you don't think too hard about it.
@KittyPouncer Which makes more sense. Of course, JMS used to trilogies to retcon several “fixes” into the story based on nitpicks he’d gotten from fans over the years.
2 season waiting and so worth that look on your face
Warren Khefer, what happens when the network tries to force a character on a writer like JMS.
But, for what he was, he was at least well-written and acted.
@@kurtjk01 There was ZERO POINT to having a "hotshot pilot" in the series as a regular character. The scientist from "Voice in the Wilderness" would have made more sense than that, because you could send him out to look at some "funny stuff next door", but a short range defensive fighter pilot?
People in Hollywood are really REALLY ANNOYING with their lack of common sense.
"That's how it ends" ... because this series had to FIGHT FOR RENEWAL every step of the way, unlike Star Trek, where the "copycat" - DS9 - only started to have a consistent main story in season 3.
In a blooper reel Londo says he thought he saw a putty tat. 15:45
That Centauri bomb was very cool looking,
Awesome episode , it was building up and up and then bang hits you with a bunch of stuff all at once.
A purple bomb that looks like a crest. They really didn't care who found out.
This episode is so satisfying and solid. I did like Keffer though.
Would you have ever thought you'd feel this way about G'Kar in the first few episodes?
Looking back, In the early episodes I thought G'Kar was the untrusty and shady one - How the tables have turned!!!! Absolutely love G'Kar!!
Glad to see you back and ok. Some Ytubers just drop off and it makes you wonder. We just lost Ian Pundant who died suddenly of a brief illness and he warned he had been exposing those who often kill or disappear those who say too much.
Droshala, he who lights up the sky. That's why Vorlons wear encounter suits, so they won't be recognized as angels (or Droshala or Valeria etc.).
Keffer just has a slight sunburn.
He forgot his SPF one million.
@@sdfried4877 Happens to everyone.
Well, well. Look who decided to show up.
Mr. Welles
@@ianstopher9111 Yeah, him too. We’ll see him in another 4 years.
Well, Well, Well!!!!
Hey bud. I assume you forgot to change the opacity for your overlay. Will you be uploading this again? Great reaction, regardless! Now you know a tiny bit more of the "truth" about the Vorlons.
Yeah he messed up
@@dug3569Happens to all of us at some point.😆At least he didn't screw up and not realize he had no audio for his reaction. I lost an entire Halo reaction to that.😅
@@reverseBLT yep-didn’t bother me I’ve seen it dozen times

Good to see you again.
Yes, this is a great episode. I *love* Sheridan's apology.
and that was Kosh .... Why did he look different to everyoe, and why did Londo see ... nothing?
Be seeing you for season 3
At Last ! great episode and the Series only gets better
Can't wait for […] and […] and all the rest.
Been waiting a long for you to finally finish this season and now you're not even showing the video? I'm assuming that's a mistake. Please re-upload it.
Oh crap!!!! I completely forgot to dim the overlay so you could see the video, so sorry about that! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Thought it was due to copyright - but we all know that episode so well ... and it has continuous auditorial clues
Me too. Welcome to Jones' old-timey radio story hour. @@sebastianwittmeier1274
@@JonesReactions Does that mean we'll get an updated version? THIS is the reaction I've been waiting for, since you began this show. I'm really hoping you'll fix it. It's been a day now. I will not watch a reaction, if I can't even see what you're reacting to.

I know this episode well enough I don't even need the video feed. It is a bit harder watching a reaction with no audio or video.

Re-upload please
Yeah I'm really sorry about that, forgot to dim the overlay and I've actually deleted the original footage so I can't just take it off like that I'd have to go through the whole editing process again. I may just post a link to the full Patreon version as a one off considering its basically unwatchable

How the tables have turned when I think what a cheap villain G'Kar was in the pilot and now we feel for him.
Also Vir was absolutely right when he warned Londo about the war he was about to start.
Another thing I didn't expect from a character on the first watch. B 5 is so great for a rewatch once you already know the characters and where they are going.
The "transformation" of G'kar is one of the greatest wonders of writing ever ... and starting with the "no dictator can suppress the need to be free" speech two episodes ago you his speeches and wisdoms are always good for a huge lump of goosebumps.
No video??

I'm sorry Jones but this format don't appeal to me anymore as i loved watching the footage too. I still like your reactions and monologues but still there's still something missing. Is it a recent change because of complaints? is it a mistake? as the inquisitor episode was partially visible that was okish for me no it's hard...
