  • This lady rode the left lane for at least 20 miles at a constant 65 mph. She sped up once when I flashed my high beams but then settled down to 65 again. Couldn't wait to get around her. She led a parade behind me for 15 miles, never budging. I just don't get it.

Left lane is for PASSING ONLY. It doesn't matter what the speed limit is. If you're not immediately passing another vehicle, you go back to the right lane. Don't try and be a self appointed speed enforcer. Just accept that people are going to drive faster than the speed limit and move over and let them by. They'll be the ones getting a speeding ticket.

if left lane hogs anger you, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT drive from south of Chattanooga to Johnson City TN...................this appears to be their breeding / testing grounds

Although they are in the wrong staying in the left lane, this is the reality of the way people drive these days. I don't follow them for miles. I would rather just go around them and move on with my day and not give them the power to irritate me. You also run the risk of having someone else come up behind you and follow very close and possibly rear-end you and have to deal with that incident because traffic stops quickly in front of you and they are not paying attention or react quickly enough. Some people are just not going to move over and share the road. I would rather just get away from them as soon as possible. I'll be damned if they're going to wreck my day.

You should have taught her a lesson, she obviously is aware of the left lane rules

I had a left lane that wouldn’t move over even with a van full of kids and no traffic on the right. I just pulled behind her in my Ford E350, turned on the lights, and honked the horn until she gave it up. Intimidation worked this time.

More head on collisions with wrong way drivers happen in the left lane at night because the wrong way driver thinks they are in the right lane.

Not just blocking the left lane but how stupid do they have to be to stay beside a big rig for more than about 5 Seconds?

Years ago, coming home from a race, Richard Petty came up behind a guy doing just this. He started bumping him out of the way. That's a very serious crime but because he was Richard Petty in his home state he got off with a $65 dollar fine. For $65 I'd do it all the time.

I think half the left lane hogs are dawdling along in a daze. They’re such an exponential hazard on the road as pile ups happen behind them while they self-righteously dawdle along saying I’m a safe driver.

This type of bad driver... I refer to them as "Clovers"... tend to be oblivious to their surroundings, and in particular, of their fellow motorists. They think that the main purpose for having a rearview mirror is for checking to see if they’ve got anything stuck in their teeth. They don't notice that their rear bumper has grown a tail eight other cars long. The true dyed-in-the-wool Clover DOES notice, but either doesn't care or, in fact, they're PROUD of it. Either they're "doing the speed limit", or the other drivers are "speeders." Those other cars stacking up behind him can wait. What's their rush, anyhow? Clovers see themselves as auxiliaries to the police, so they consider their rude behavior to be a public service. For safety, and all.

I like using clear marbles. It's hard to see them coming. Being round they don't reflect light very well and they do a number on windshields and put nice dents in hoods and roofs.
