  • On our way to the Seattle Premium Outlets for shopping when this happened. A driver hogs the left lane, going below the speed limit, and everyone is trying to get around her. One driver gets mad and purposely cuts in front of her and brake checks her several times. Finally she decided to move over, but fails to shoulder check and nearly hits us. We had to brake really hard & swerve to avoid her hitting us.
    She only moved to the far right lane because she needed to exit -_-
    Not including this in my usual videos because it's technically not in Vancouver.

    Exactly - if you're not passing someone, move the hell over to the right.

    I hate when people still try to stick up for her, she was slow in the left passed multiple times in the right and then cuts off a car because she needed to exit very soon and was treating the road as her personal space how dare anyone else be on the same road as her

    I am an Oregonian driver, and my Ex always wondered why I was stressed and pissed off after getting off the highway to come see her. Umm yeah there are so many drivers like this! Ignorant people who cannot drive! Seriously thank god Oregon House has passed a law for this.

    Don't ever tell "us people" (I refuse to define what that would entail) to "be patient". The simple fact that we enjoy watching these videos proves that we are pretty impatient people by nature. I would say that many of the dashcammers feel a certain civic duty to upload these videos as a way of "silent payback" to the shit drivers.

    This is why left lane hogging is dangerous. It creates road rage on other drivers that want to drive faster or the same speed.

    a blinker doesnt give you the right of way,
    Supa kept a large distance in front of him and the passing lane driver decided to switch lanes right into Supa.
    Supa did nothing wrong.

    On a lot of interstates (probably most), you can ride the middle lane legally unless a sign specifically commands you to move over. A lot of semis prefer the middle lane. You cannot, however, ride the passing lane legally unless you are actually passing someone who is going slower than the speed limit.

      In my state it is illegal to ride in the left lane without passing, at any speed.

  • @JakeRoot
    @JakeRoot 11 лет назад +1

    No I agree I don't think it was necessary to honk, never said otherwise. I am just saying we're impatient people, and as long as we're alive I think we are entitled to be so. From my observations, especially living in Seattle, rush hour is often caused by extremely slow drivers, and after a while it starts to take its toll (mentally). Also we can't merge worth a shit but that's unrelated.

    This video isn't about lane hogging it's just about idiots who cut Infront of any drivers and brake for no reason, these are the idiots who should be mentioned. It was probably safer for that driver to cut Infront of you. You should have seen this coming and gave them space, the fact you didn't shows a lack of attention on your part.

    You're being passed on the right you're in the passing lane being passed on the right making this video. how are you not guilty as can be?
    Then a car goes to the left lane and forcefully breaks this gridlock you see it happening and you disallow the needed necessary merge and you make a secondary increase drastic increase to this unsafe situation and then you beep at this vehicle as if somehow you did not see it while contributing to the obvious ignorant merge from the right that you're supposed to be observing. This is some of the most blatant ignorant driving I've ever seen being that it's a video about such horrid driving.
    The law does not say that the left lane is for passing the law says driving the rightmost lane and pass to the left and not to impede faster traffic yet you're causing someone to pass on the right how are you not every bit is guilty as the car that you're pointing out. As most driving safety instructors will tell you if you can be passed on the right then you're in the wrong lane and that's what I'm saying happen in this video.
    Obey the law and driving the rightmost lane except while passing. And now I must correct my mistake because I see this is Vancouver not the United States so the laws are different so my barking is inappropriate and pointless but I leave my original statement here because it's important to know that laws do change in different jurisdictions and people need to be better about stating where they're posting their video from because they're local jurisdictions and laws are very important the United States and each and every state it is a law that you drive in the rightmost lane except while passing it is usually not enforced and is usually ignored by most drivers but it is still a law in each and every state and it is a federal mandate that each and every state have that law driving the rightmost lane except while passing. I don't know what the legal definition of illegal Lane usage is in Vancouver or near Vancouver and I can't look it up because the person that posted this did not specify that jurisdiction.

      And your alternative suggestion is?

    • @steve_x9582
      @steve_x9582 7 лет назад

      The lane hogger didn't mean to offend anyone in particular. She is either oblivious of her surroundings or is new to the freeway. The brake checker purposely cuts in front her and pulling this unnecessary move can easily results in road rage when it was totally possible to just drive normally after undertaking her

    • @evii310
      @evii310 6 лет назад

      the classics now your response is even more stupider because if the driver was “new” to the freway or surroundings then why the fuck would they go all the way to the left lane there Sherlock 🕵️‍♂️? Explain that one there? In any case they would of stayed closer to the right side exit lane.

    • @Amblyopic
      @Amblyopic 9 лет назад

      ***** The speed limit on Oregon highways varies from 30 to 65 mph. Freeways are generally 50 to 65 mph. In urban cores the freeway is usually 50-55.

      All you needed do was back off on the throttle slightly, you saw what was going on, yet kept your speed constant!
      While we're at it, you were driving too close to the SUV in the first place.
      No wonder there's over 30,000 road fatalities every year in the US . . .

    • @seanl2576
      @seanl2576 10 лет назад +6

      We were on cruise control, so we weren't even on the throttle in the first place. Driving too close to the SUV? Which SUV? We had a pretty good following distance. Yeah no wonder there's so many fatalities. Because of Idiots who can't follow the "keep right except to pass" law.

    • @Docv400
      @Docv400 10 лет назад +3

      *****
      Cruise controls do have an 'off' button you know, or you can just touch the brake pedal ;o)
      You should be 2 seconds (at least) behind the vehicle in front.
      Which SUV? Maybe you should get your eyes checked, it's that big silver thing right in front of you from 0:00 to 0:30-ish!
      This is all pretty basic stuff . . .

    • @seanl2576
      @seanl2576 10 лет назад +5

      Maybe we were a bit close for the first 5-10 seconds, but because we had just changed into that lane. The rest of the video we had at least a 3 second following distance. Also, you can't even judge our following distance since the video was zoomed in the whole time.
      Yes it is basic stuff, but you don't seem to get it.
