One note. You may want to replace the 2357 taillight bulb with an 1157. I did. The 1157s burn cooler and are still plenty bright. As I under stand it…the 2357 bulbs are too hot for the socket assembly plastic. I’ve had trouble with mine (2014) for the last 5 years. I finally decided to do something about it.
Thanks for the tip! 😎
This just happened to me. The plastic socket assembly is melted and the bulb wont even fit through. Is the only solution replacing the tail light assembly?
Yes, if the bulb socket is melted, you will need to replace the wire harness. It’s a very cheap fix.
Changed out the bulbs, good tip
So I guess the 2357 saying is hotter , they get stuck to the plastic socket which happened to mine and it broke the whole socket while i tried removing the bulb. Now i have to spend extra $$ just for a bulb replacement.
Man, thank you for making a quick, to the point video that isn't 45 minutes of talking, appreciate it honestly
And his camera angles are on point!!!🎉
Great video, thanks…it took me 20 minutes to fix because your walk through was so thorough. For someone who sometimes muscles things when they shouldn’t the tip on pulling out that piece was great.
Thanks for watching!😎
Appreciate the straightforward walkthrough and all the links in the description.
Great to see no nonsense content.
Thanks for watching!😎
Great video
I was going to try and splice out a short in the wires and saw your video and thought:” Even I can do that!” and I did without breaking anything or screaming in frustration
Props to you sir
I used this video this weekend to replace both tail light wiring harnesses. I don't usually tackle these types of projects, but it was a piece of cake with this clear and concise video.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching!😎
Just finished installing my passenger side tail assembly harness. Thanks. Your video made it so easy. I was dreading the job…until I saw how easy it was to remove the taillight assembly. Took all of half an hour.
Thanks for watching!😎
Thanks. Spot on. I’ll be removing my taillight assembly. It’s sure better than what I did with the other side. I cut and spliced in the taillight socket. It worked just fine. Everything else worked so no worries there.
😂 that's what I was going to do until I saw how easy it was to just replace the whole thing!
Just got my part in the mail today and is going to do it in the morning asap thank you !!
Thank you for the video. I was able to do the work myself, also for the tip getting that last clip out!
This really helped. Thanks.
You made it look simple.. I guess I will give it a try…. Thanks!!!
super helpful, thank you so much
Mine burnt out and melted the same way which is why I'm watching this video thank you
Same here.
Thanks! I was able to replace the part, but it had a short… at least i know I can do it.. Thanks!!!!!
Appreciate it a lot man!!!
Thanks for watching!😎
None of the lights for the entire assembly work but on my last assembly i had on all the lights worked but i had to change it because my brake light melted so i have to completely replace it ? The bulbs are correct and i bought the wore harness that was in your description any tips?
I may need to do this even though I replaced the bulb with the tail light still in the car. It worked at first and then when I put it in, it stopped? Figured out that I had to bend the wire back into the clip for it to get juice. Clearly I need a new wire harness as I shouldn't have to bend the wires to get electricity running. Will see how long this last
What is the Grey part with wholes called, my light bulbs melted the plastic Grey part I need to replace it. Do I have to replace the whole rear thing.
Awesome video. I just wonder if the harnesses on amazon are going to have the same issue and eventually melt and burn out the bulbs quickly.
Can’t be worse than the stock one.😎
@@fixinit touche. Haha
I followed the while video but theres no power ebing supplied to the tail light connector and im stuck
I have a 2013 Kia Forte EX which is the same company and looks very similar. My problem is my brake light bulbs are clicking in! The ones I replaced! The socket isn’t burnt out but wondering if I broke two sockets? I can’t imagine I did. Or I’m stupid? Anyone else had this problem before? Thanks for the video!
Sorry if this is a dumb question.. but does this work on a 2011 Hyundai sonata?
Yes
What did you do to “ trim off a little bit “? 😊 I’m afraid I may have the same problem.
I trimmed it with a utility knife
What is the Grey part with wholes called, my light bulbs melted the plastic Grey part I need to replace it. Do I have to replace the whole rear thing.
@@hmm949 its called the socket
Same exact problem I had with my 2014 Sonata. Fail inspection and those bozos tried to tell me I had to replace the entire taillight assembly😒
just swapped out the wire harness but, since my bulbs have melted the housing. now I have to replace the entire tail light assembly other wise the bulbs won't stay in place.
I mean you can do some arts and crafts. Worst case scenario is you mess it up and have to replace it which you were gonna anyways.
Where would i find this part?
There’s a link in the video description
Another tip use gloves when changing bulb I did it without gloves and the glass popped on my fingers . Really cuts deep so use gloves ‼️
Is there a left or right ?
They are the same for both sides
I have checked the bulb and the fuse but is not working
The Sonata is so annoying for this. Also, why is it so easy to steal? No alarm for the back windows, and you can use a USB to start the ignition
Doesnt it need to be rewired?
