How to removal Hyundai Sonata Tail lights and replace bulbs

- Just another quick video on how to removal Tail lights from a Hyundai Sonata. These Tail light had to be complete replace due to the bulbs melting the housing from the inside, who ever did not seat the bulb socket correctly in which it melted and miss shaped the socket. Someone hit my Hyundai Sonata and the accident took out my entire right back tail light. I can't put it back in since it's damaged. My son and I are going to a U-Pull it to find another one. I'm a single mom and have no clue what socket(s) I'll need. I have no experience with this but this video really helps.
Good video. These are known to run super hot to the point where they deform the sockets. Running a cooler bulb helps. Just ordered a set from rock auto for my kids Sonata.
Yeah.....there should be a recall or class action over their taillights/bulbs. Dealer broke the bulb sockets prying the melted bulb out..... Then tried to charge me $750 to replace the tail lights....

The app is called Row52 you put your zip and mile radius on how far you want to go and it will list all the junkyard within that area and gives you there current inventory on what they have in stock and what day they got the cars hope this helps

my bulb literally got stuck inside the tail light and I cant get it out bc my finger and bulb dont fit in that hole at the same time
That opening might of got warped from the heat from the bulb
Do the replacements match the OEM? I need to order just the right hand side, but not 100% is they will look exactly the same as the left.
The ones I bought fit perfect and they were not oem taillights

Fairly easy job from what I know of. Just get the appropriate HID/LED conversion kit that’s for your socket size (mine was 9005) and just plug in and install. Make sure to angle your low beams if needed and go to youtube for examples 🙌

I might make a video to see if I can remelt the plastic to get the bulb out, but if you can’t get the bulb out I suggest pushing it in and using a led bulb sense they don’t get as hot as regular bulbs with some tape until you can find a new taillight hope this helps

I can't see why you would rather remove the whole housing than just remove the bulb housing. Way too much more work.

I didn’t see a bulb housing that I could remove the socket were the build sits is one solid peace of plastic and melted the housing
As you discribe @ 1:53 or is it really that tight? I think I remember replacing that same bulb by untwisting it with no problem.@@walg4344
