These are great, no preamble, no filler, just what we need to see.
@Jack Xiao, thanks for dropping by, I appreciate it very much. Please like & subscribe. Stay safe my friend.
Thanks again, the dealership gave me a $2k estimate to replace the harness. I used your video to replace it myself with a part off ebay for $14z
@@jackxiao9702 wow, that's good to hear, I'm glad the video helped. Thanks for supporting my channel, please spread the word. Be safe my friend.
Very helpful for those who don’t know how to do this 💯
@javontaesimmons9577 Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching. Please like, share, and subscribe if you haven't yet. Cheers!
There's really no need to cut wires.
All you have to do is de-pin the wires from the old socket. Then de-pin the wires from the new socket and attach the wires from the tail light harness into the new socket and lightly glue the base
Best way to do it imo. But depining is hard for some ppl. I'm having a hard time
Very tidy! If I have plenty of length to play with, I like to stagger the joins out so they're not all in one clump. Makes it a little tidier, especially if you're going to wrap the sub harness in tape or other sleeve. Good tip on the bulbs. Headlight bulbs especially can fail much earlier due to one thumbprint!
@Les Sharp, you bet...heat wraps are the best when it comes to sorting out wires. Glad you appreciate the video. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Thanks Harvey! Another great one.
You're welcome, much appreciated. Stay safe.
You're almost there, I bet you'll reach 1K subs before the year ends.
I hope so too! thanks.
Thaks for the DIY guide. Where to buy the bulb socket, and heat shrink?

Heat shrink tubings:

I don't understand. I've been breathing on the shrink wrap tubing for an hour and nothing is happening. It said to apply hot Dragon breath on the package....my tongue hurts.
Awesome
Thanks @m4rbella. Be safe!
Front headlight 3 pin socket name ?
The brake light on my passenger side won't work. I tried 3 bulbs. How do I determine if I have a bad socket?
Hi @CrowdPleeza. Check the power sockets with a 12V tester. Switch on the light, ground the tester to a clean screw anywhere on the car. Stick the contacts to see if the tester lights. If the contacts are corroded, clean it but be careful not to bend or distort them. The tester should light for two out of three contacts. one won’t because it’s a ground. If two of them lights, insert the bulb. If the bulb still doesn’t work, replace the socket. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Pls. like and subscribe. Goodluck!
For anyone who wants to know how to test a socket with a multimeter.
"How do you test a brake light socket with a multimeter?
Set the multimeter to AC voltage in the 200 range, place the black probe on the metal socket shell (where the bulb screws or hooks into), and place the red probe on the metal tab at the inner bottom of the light socket. The multimeter reads between 110 and 130 if the light socket is working well."

What size wire?
Hi @keytothegate K. I honestly have no idea, it came fixed with the socket. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe. Be safe my friend.
@@handyharvey Google says 16 AWG, I was asking because instead of heat shrink connector I will use Wago connector and they can handle wire as small as 22 AWG . May try to install LED socket/light and the wires for LED are even smaller as small as 18 AWG or less-but WAGO connectors can accomodate it. Thanks!
