Playing as a 4 man and i built this with my own tweaks made the tunnel 2 lanes and down the bottom i added platforms 6 high along the left and right of the pit with poles going across and leading up some stairs to the tunnel. It works amazing and im still adding bits to it. Love your tips and build videos ❤
So nice, thanks. I will definitely try it for my horde base. I was thinking about slowing zombies with diagonal 1/2 blocks, and regulate traffic with an horizontal door. But it looks like diagonal 1/2 blocks + this new 4ways pole could do the trick and remove the annoyance of managing the door. And I'm tired of scaffolding ladder as fighting position. Very good design and editing, as usual.
The scaffolding ladder was pretty much mandatory since its introduction. I was determined to find another option as I want my bases to look different lol
@@pseudoposse I think you found it.I just tested a horde night 7, works great with a knife build. There's only Arlene who is too short, so bodyshot for her. I used half blocks rather than catwalk plates. Even with that I hit the block sometimes. And the best, imo, the robotic sledge works through this block most of the time. Which is huge. It can be placed on your feet with you on the fighting position. Or a few blocks away on the side of the corridor. With a hole on the other side for zombies extraction :)
@@OuabiGaming That is awesome to hear that the robotic sledge turret can work through the hole! The 1/2 block is definitely nicer for hitting though in my testing, it does open you up for some occasional cop puke that can hit you. Some spit will get blocked but some won't so be careful ;)
Used this base style for night 14 horde, game state 150. It worked fantastic! Love melee builds and these types of bases. Made mine a bit different but same concept. Thanks for the good idea!!!
Built a base using this concept today for my first blood moon night which happened to be day 182. Worked a treat with only minimal damage to the base. 4 blocks out of my reach were destroyed and had to be active repairing blocks at the fighting position but very good concept. Thanks for the videos.
This build can definitely be one of the best in a horde base and I've built one. The problem is that you can't headshot zombie Arlene with melee attacks, but other short zombies can.
Arlene is a bit tricky, but sill doable. And in later hordes once zombies start to pile on top of each other, they tend to conveniently poke their heads out of the top pole hole making it easy to whack them in the head.
That is one of the things I like to do 😊. I'll frequently try to "hide" supports as decorative elements, and other such tricks to make it aesthetic. Glad you enjoyed!
Perfect timing. Just popped back in to 7D2D and my day 7 horde base took a beating and I didn't fare much better but this design will do the job wonderfully.
just tried this for my day 7 horde, some things to note: - melee a few hits, repair a few blocks. basically repair every two or three hits you do. there's no destroyed texture for these, so just alternate to stay on top of repairs. - make the block in your inv and copy rotation before horde starts. keep in hotbar for if it breaks. - if you're aiming for headshots with a pipe baton, aim at the gap between the top cross and the wedges - zombs can get into crawl mode on top of the stack at the front in that gap, so make sure they don't break the top railing bits - zombs can get into crawl mode and go through the defensive position gap also, so make sure you don't have a friend that's snuck in beside/below you if you keep taking damage
Awesome video man, definitely deserved a like+sub. Actually in the process of building this base right now in my world (currently day 26/gamestage 87) so hoping it does me well for a long while. Would love to see more 7 Days base tutorials from you and hopefully they're more in depth and step-by-step. I see a few comments of people stating theirs is "different" or they can't place blocks in certain spots or whatever so a more in depth slowed down guide could help
Can I just say how great the music was. Usually ppl have really annoying elevator/bad porn music lol. I was chair dancing watching this 🙌😂. But most importantly thank you so much for going through the build and letting us know the name of the shapes! I love following along and building with vids...this is how I learn about new blocks and eventually tweak things to my playstyle! Please more vids like this! And more music like this! 🥰🥰
Taco really appreciates that you dance to it!! She spends a great deal of time selecting the music for each video so she loves to see people enjoying it :)
Definitely an interesting build, and I love the new defence block (the base reminds me of steampunk/circus, theme park rides). Also, with regards to the early game iteration, how would you prevent the zombies going into rage mode? Surely they'd beat on the fighting position? I noticed a few of them getting on top of the pathway and going into that digging animation. Would that block also work for bats/clubs? That's my specialty :D
This will definitely work for bats and clubs :) As for the rage mode. Early game hordes aren't too threatening to topple a base from rage. But if you do want to prevent it, you can build the dropper higher above the ground. I made that early base minimalist but you can easily make the path wall a bit higher to prevent zombies from getting on top. And you can make the path higher to deal with raging zombies. You can initially cut costs on the base if you build higher by making the stairs more narrow and making the fighting platform very simple. And then add on as you go :)
I built one of these as my stun baton base. It works pretty well. However, I don't see it in your video but for me they hate the entrance. They beat on the first two blocks every loop. The rest of the base they leave alone, but they really don't want to walk into that narrow tunnel. Just wanted to confirm you were seeing the same behavior? My base is about 15 high at this point. Rewatching the horde night it looks like they did beat down the first two entrance blocks. Thanks for the video.
At this point I don't remember but in designs I've done since this build, I have used various ramp/wedge block shapes at a zombie dropper entrance to lessen the likelihood of zombies beating on blocks. You might try that :)
@pseudoposse okay, in your simple design, what were each of the stair forms you used? I can't seem to locate the double wide stairs you used that reach the bottom. Additionally, for shits a giggles, how high did YOU build the 2 platforms for the video?
@@carpysmind I used the regular STAIRS FILLED, and the STAIRS 01 for the simple base design. The double wide staircase is just the STAIRS FILLED placed side by side. And yes I can confirm the platforms are 5 high :)
I played on console for years and now that ill finally have access to the newest version of the game in a couple days its hit me that none of the horde base designs i used will work so this video was very useful
Im not sure this base will work for console it seem when youre in a base too high up the z seem to go for your foundation and not bother about the path you set
At what stage (day#) in horde night progression do you recommend one have your "end game" base up and running? I'm completely new to the game and 60 years old.
It depends on game difficulty settings, and max number of horde zombies allowed. I'd say if you rush concrete you could have it ready by day 35. I think you'd want it up by day 49 or so to handle rads and demos.
Really awesome base! It must be noted that the "low tech" option for blocking the zombies crawling through the blocks is not available to be added to the base you built in the video. I felt that would have been important to mention, as you only said "I opted to go with the high tech variant" (duh, can't do the low tech one 😉) Viva la Pole 4 Way
Kudos to you sir for bringing up this point! You could go with the low tech option with a redesign ;) The hi-tech option required less work for sure which is why I went with it. Putting in the pillars would require tearing down the region around the pole 4way on both sides and reconfiguring. Glad you liked the base!
Hello There, looks great from a new player that just got the game. If I may point out for a new player the advance base, the build may be obvious to veteran but not for us, I have no idea how to build or even setup the electric thingy, so that could be in your next video to make sure everyone is included. I ll definitely give your set up a go, as I got my ass handed to me on the first horde night :)
Thank you for the feedback and welcome to the game! I'll need to incorporate that in the future :) In meantime, you may find our tips video helpful which does include information on electric traps: ruclips.net/video/8ZmQ_vck4Pk/видео.html Best of luck!
I need a more detailed explanation on how to build this. like how high do i go with the wedge stairs before switching to normal. how many blocks tall is. I'm trying to build something similar and it's just hard to follow along. great video and great looking build though. I did not know the pole 4 way was so good.
For the wedge staircase, you can make that as high as you like or not use it at all and just use normal stairs. I think the wedge part of my stairs is roughly 4 blocks high. The height of the pole 4-way path is about 15 blocks above the ground. We'll try to balance brevity and clarity better in the future. Glad you liked video :)
Nice build but hard to headshot and zombies will for sure push through the pole 4 way on the smaller build. There's no room for the blocker blocks to close the gap in the pole 4 way. Made your base in a rush, day 14. I'll have to move some blocks around in the fighting area to make room some how. Any ideas for a bag lootable, early game horde base? Lot of bags landed on the ground.
You can adjust the design to position the "blockers" on your side. You could also use scaffold ladders instead if that is easier for you :) I've got an idea or two for loots ;)
Man, I don't know what I did wrong as what I built, at least stair and corridor-wise looks just like in the video, but it just went really bad. I was hyped to find a good base to carry me through the first few horde nights, but I think this is just not it for me. None of the zombies fell, despite them piling up. Moreover, when one would ragdoll after me boinking it, when it was getting back up, it would get pushed by the mob through the hole in the 4 pole arrangement and into the same space as me. It was impossible to keep up with the constant zombie waves (they changed it, didn't they? It used to be easy first night) or with the repairs. They finally broke the barrier after only 1 hour and a half. Spent the rest of the night running in a straight line and knifing them one by one... it was a painfully long 4 in-game hours... I play on adventurer mode, for anyone curious, with sprint during bloodmoon so nothing crazy :/
Sorry you had difficulties! That's odd that none of the zombies feel through the holes in your horde. During testing, that happened consistently. As for zombies squeezing through, did you use the half length pillar 0.5m shape? That should prevent all squeezing.
Great build! Thank you! So my question would be based on the zombie AI should we be building this base a certain number of blocks high to avoid the rage mode?
Do you increase the max enemy count on bloodmoon? my fav block is any triangles put horizontal, force the zombies to slide down. I use spear for max distance from the horde tho, so triangle barrier may not that effective to melee with other weapons. Altho, amazing looking horde base, I clearly need to up my game haha. Maybe I can make a horde base in the shape of a dragon
The number of zombies is 64, the game's max allowed without mods. You could absolutely make your base in the shape of a dragon! That would look pretty dang cool!
It depends on what your objective is. Adding an obstacle course on the stairs would slow the rate in which they loop so if you are worried about getting overwhelmed, or your base is made of weak materials and you need to buy some more time, that would work.
The second base is about 13 blocks high. Definitely no more than 15. Blade traps I would only use if they are within repairable range. They are fragile and if left alone, will go down very quickly. Dart traps plus electric fence posts with some tripwire would hold up better at the bottom of you wanted some more automated kills.
I'm running into a issue where the zombies will attack the ramp 8 04 shapes and basically drill their way through, most will funnel into the middle but 1 or 2 will always attack those. I even tried the ramp 6m 02 from another video of yours at the tip leading into the funnel and... well they do ignore that block but then start breaking the ramp 8 04 anyway haha. Any idea's why they are so focused on it or just the randomness of their AI?
Hmm could be that somewhere between the tunnel and your position the path is somehow broken or "blocked" by something. If they are starting to attack random blocks, that means they can't get to you.
The main problem I had is that all zombies are not the same height. Taller zombies were easy to hit and no problem. Get some of the shorter female zombies and their head is literally right behind the 4-way pole and difficult to hit. I basically had to crouch and hit their body instead. If the zombies make it through the drop section I think a catwalk block to raise the zombies on their side would fix that height issue and not cause a Cop spit issue.
I've thought about raising or lowering the other side of the 4 way pole which as you said, would make zombies easy to hit and not have the cop issue. I think it depends on how you construct your path, with some designs, placing a catwalk or like a 3/4 cube might mess up the path design you've chosen. Definitely placing it inside or outside is a viable strategy. Thanks for bringing up a good point!
I generally make my "home" base and horde base separately. But if you wanted to attach this base to your crafting/storage area, you certainly could. Either make the fighting position larger to house your stuff with some additional protection for that in case they break through. Or dig beneath the fighting position for an underground base. Just be cautious about creating a complete path from underground to your fighting position as zombies will then tunnel down and go up.
Easy! Press f1 and type dm in to the console and hit enter. When you press esc key, you'll see extra menu options on right. One is a checkbook for stability.
@ thanks a lot really appreciated!! Could you help with something? Theres a certain block a cant find the perfect shape for it, could i send you a photo and see if u came up with any idea?
The difference in my opinion is they can fall through the holes without being squeezed but to get through them while walking/crawling, it is normally too narrow for them.
Nope! In fact, it could actually help as water will slow down zombies making them take longer to do the loop. And it also serves as an anti rage mechanic so you could build the path at a lower height in water versus land. Just be sure the stairs extends all the way to the bottom of the water.
You could do a couple things. First, add additional corridors of the same design so there are multiple to cover. Another thing you could modify is the end of the corridor by making it wider to allow more people to engage the zombies. You could use the same pole blocks along the path. Another idea would be to use a single corridor and then split off multiple paths from it for others to cover.
Okey but what would u suggest to widen the attack position for 2 people instead of one. So corridor needs to be wider too. I would have to use 4 or 3 cross blocks between me and zombies and for pathwalk right? So there's gonna be 2 big holes in pathwalk. Is it doable or is it gonna change structure completly? For now i think of early stage of the game, i dont need endgame base for now. Cheers :)
I'd have to test out how effective it is being wider. Zombies might be less likely to fall through. But another option is to create multiple corridors of the same size with the 2 wide pole 4 way. So if you have 2 people, put in 2 corridors that each of you can cover.
I tried last 4poles on which they stand switched for 2 little 0.025 poles or something and i erased adjacent ramps blocks which u put as walls in corridor i hope they start falling on left and right side. And i hope they gonna jump on those little poles to attack me cuz there are some blocks which zombie ai doeant consider path at all i hope its not that 😅
@@erasalams61 The pillars should work well as long as they are the centered type. The regular pillar shapes aren't seen as paths for some reason. Good luck!
Thanks for the great video - I have one question: what height prevents zombies from falling and going into rage mode and demolishing the nearby pylons. I have not done this type of building so am appreciative of your idea of minimum fall height.
To be safe, accounting for fact that zombies can drop on top of each other lowering the effective drop height, you probably want to go 13-15 blocks at a minimum.
I have been trying to build this but with the information given its very hard to get the proper block lengths of the stairs and so weve been having ALOT of issues trying to get the bridge not to break. We've built it four times in concrete and it just keeps breaking so im about to just make six supports across the whole bridge. Just a request but can you put a footprint of the base somewhere in the video for next time so its easier to replicate because ive wasted a ton of concrete trying to get this done and i only have two days to the horde😂
Dont get me wrong I love the look and base design but as someone that plays insane/NM/perma death I normally just go with stairs to a horizontal pole to my melee position and have just been using scafolding railing or ladder and use as little materials as possible. This base looks like it would take me twice as long to build and use 5x the resources. But it looks epic good job.
Simplicity definitely will do the trick :) It really just depends on how much you like building as to how much effort you want to put into it. I appreciate you like the base! We do have a recent 45 block base that can wreck the horde. And technically, even that is overbuilt to some degree :D
I tried this on a week 3 horde.. no bueno.. I did not get hit by cop spit.. but I had multiple squeeze throughs.. and they were not falling through the holes with any meaningful frequency.
@@idiocide6609 Sorry to hear you had troubles! For the zombies squeezing through, if you don't have access to the fence posts, use the half length pillar 0.5 m shape I mentioned in the video. That will prevent all squeezing. As for difficulty hitting, you have some options. You could catwalk or thicker to raise yourself on your side, or you can conversely sacrifice a single row of the pole 4 way right in front where zombies collect and put in like a cube 1/2 or so to lower zombies to make them easier to hit. Lastly, you could replace, the pole 4 way barricade with scaffolds if that is easier. As for zombies dropping, when there are not many zombies, they do fall a bit less frequently. It is more effective later hordes when you have a large collection in there. Then they drop very frequently as shown in the video. Hope that helps!
I'm not sure the zombies making it through the gap is a bug. Ever since 1.0 dropped, I've noticed they now seem to be able to crawl through partially destroyed doors now if they pile up just a small amount. Something I've *never* seen them do before. Has me wondering if TFP changed how they interact with those types of openings....
That is certainly possible. But you'd think they'd be able to do it when not squeezed if it were completely intended. But I think I vaguely recall something a dev mentioned somewhere about changing how zombies move through
@@pseudoposse it looked like it was more a case of they needed to be on top of another zombie to reach the right height to crawl through the gap (once it was big enough). But when there are 2 or more zombies on the other side of a door, I've found it somewhat consistent. If I knock one down, there's a decent chance the other will walk on top of it, and crawl through the door, rather than bashing on it. Obv this only happens with the *big* hole in the doors, lol.
@@starfuryms582 That could be the explanation. They do tend to crawl when piled on top of each other so they may need to be in that state in order to get through. But it definitely isn't easy for them as not all crawling zombies cannot pass through with any consistency. At least the half length pillar blocks plug up enough of the hole to prevent it.
I definitely will try this i do hate however zombies coming up randomly decide you know what let me destroy these stairs at the beginning for no reason
Even though the game difficulty is set to normal, during the second blood moon, when I play with my friends (3 people), an incredible number of zombies and extremely powerful zombies spawn. We face the same issue every time we play. This problem also existed in the previous version, and it continues in version 1.0. I have tried everything, including checking the game codes, to reduce the number of zombies spawning per person, but I still don't know what to do. I would appreciate any help you can provide
@@pseudoposse We are at levels 35, 36, and 25, respectively. However, we know and researched these. Still, we reduced the number of zombies spawning per person to 4. They continued to spawn excessively. At the same time, only green zombies are spawning. I am using a level 6 sledgehammer and a strong attack; I hit their heads at least 10 times, but the zombies are not dying.
@@flax6899 For a second horde (day 14 by default), that is pretty high levels. In your game settings are you using an xp multiplier? If so, you may consider putting that down to 100%(default) which should make the difficulty progression slower. The danger of leveling too fast is while your skills get better, you may not have had the time to properly loot gear reflective of your level whereas the zombies are more difficult. But since you are already at those levels, short of starting over, try to prioritize getting better gear and dedicate a person or two to making a horde base that works well. We've got plenty of options on the channel that you could try out. And if you are still using cobblestone at that gamestage, that is probably another reason life is harder. Beeline to concrete as soon as possible.
@@pseudoposse Thank you for your help. Even though our XP multiplier is set to the normal level of the game, I still don't know why our levels increased so quickly.
got it bad at following this video have fallen to death twice due to structure failure an can not get stuff lined up love this base wish i was better at building XD
built this design at the wasteland (what a mistake it was) i hade door droper and electrical fances also dart traps at the other side , i got radieted demos on day 21 lolz , the base got demolished :)
You can filter by category on the side. And also you can type in the text filter to look for a block. If you press "s" on a block, it will save it in your favorites so you can easily find blocks you like to use in the future.
Out of interest. Would a campfire fit in-between the wholes in that block. and could one theoretically use a campfire to burn the zombies as they traverse the pathway. I would try it myself but my PC needs an upgrade before i can play anything beyond alpha 15 as that was the last stable version that i got more than 30 frames on
The new shape isn't really better than the existing ones. You can always use the L version in the same way with the same zombie glitch-through problem and the same opening size for throwing and melee. The actual advancement is offsetting the floor to better align the player character with the openings for easy use with anything which isn't a spear. Was still an entertaining video to watch though.
I don't think I had any spawn in my lategame horde but if I had to guess, I would suspect they wouldn't fall through the holes...or possibly not as frequently. Could be wrong. But in any case, you should be able to easily melee them once they reach your position.
@@pseudoposse We'll see. Realistically, the cop puke "should" get though an open space. And a spear "should" only be useful though open spaces. TFP are known to over correct zombie AI for people making cheese bases. But, since they are now 1.0, I can see them being done with that stoopid crap. Lastly, it's a game so, have fhun!
@@GinSoakedBrain If we want to play the realistic game, I would argue puke shouldn't fly that far to begin with 😁 I agree hopefully they are done trying to nerf strategies they see as cheating and just let people play however you want. It is pretty much a game of whack-a-mole...nerfing one strategy might open the door for another.
@@pseudoposse Agreed 100%. That cop puke, when looking at it, make NO sense. Don't get me started on zombies somehow strapping base killing bombs to themselves either.
It really depends. Some bases will scale better than others. As a general rule once you get to lategame, you want at very least concrete with some steel for the important parts. For this particular base design, I did the lategame horde on day 70, insane/nightmare so it should hold up. Another thing to consider in this particular example is the early game base I showed (the smaller of the two bases featured in the video) would probably fail at high gamestages even with concrete as it sets too low to the ground. Falling zombies will accumulate too rapidly and they'll get caught underneath and start beating on the path. So sometimes it is better to make things a bit higher from the beginning so it can eventually handle later hordes. When I play, I am always thinking about future hordes. Either I'll make a temporary horde base that doesn't require a lot of upkeep for the early hordes while I build a more long term design. Or I'll build something that I can later expand upon as I progress. This design will work for all stages of the game but make sure the path is built high enough for the lategame. Make it at least ll blocks from the ground. You could easily build that high for a first horde and keep the design very simplistic (one block wide staircase instead of 3 or more). And as you progress, beef it up. Hope I didn't overload you with too much information. But good luck!
3 of us played on navezgane map. I built an appartment with a garage on the 1st floor. Entering the yard and the garage is through a bridge. I dug a moat around 3 blocks wide and filled it with water. Added poles on the sides of the moat in front of the appartment so all zombies fall into a moat, and climb back using ladders. Horde nights were getting boring shooting them from our defensive towers inside the territory. I would sometimes jump outside for fun into the fray. day 49 and any other is a joke with such a base - just make sure you have enough bullets xD
@@pseudoposse I just built it in mine and my partners world, not an exact copy just something similar. I added a hole with spikes at the bottom to see if it manages to pick any zombies off with a stairs leading out of it so they dont start damagin walls, my only concern is wont the zombies go for the foundations ?
Anyone else have a problem with no zombies falling at all?? I tested it with 2 zombies and it worked fine but as soon as the horde showed up they all pile and crouch then proceed to decimate the 4 way blocks...
The ones crowding immediately at the front won't fall through the hole. The ones behind will fall as well as some of them just randomly running along the length. For a later game horde, definitely consider the electric fence posts as that will prevent them from piling on and destroying it very quickly. If you don't have fence posts yet, you may want to replace the 4 way blocks immediately in front of the barricade with something like the pillar 0.0125 centered meter shape which will make the zombies right in front of you fall much easier.
@pseudoposse I started a creative world and tried again but the zombies either path on the side where the ramps are supposed to force them in the middle or just walk on air over the gaps in the 4 ways so I have no idea if they patched it or I somehow built it wrong while following your guide
@pseudoposse Figured it out. Put two hatches at the end that open different directions and as the zombies pile up they stove others through and used scaffolding bars instead of 4 way poles for easier hits and I can reach the hatches to open or close them
Just tested out my base during a horde and zombies still drop through the holes. Make sure the pole 4-way path is two wide and you adequately block the sides while leaving the central large hole unobstructed. Should still work.
Thanks for answering! I have another question how do you build a stairs like what you did in video using wedge tip stairs because whenever I put full block below its uneven unlike in your vid and when I try to use half block it just floats😅
@@kanekikentot You need to use the wedge and wedge tips alternatively. You'll need to fill in the gaps with the full cubes but the general idea is to do wedge tips -> wedge -> wedge tips -> wedge (etc). Good luck!

I'm happy it worked out well for you! Melee builds are super fun but it takes some efficient designs to make it work lategame.
Built a base using this concept today for my first blood moon night which happened to be day 182. Worked a treat with only minimal damage to the base. 4 blocks out of my reach were destroyed and had to be active repairing blocks at the fighting position but very good concept. Thanks for the videos.
Absolutely!! Happy it worked out for you :)
Great build. Tried this out on my duo game and it crushed the horde beyond expectations. Thank you for the comprehensive guide.
Nice work! Great to hear it worked for you!
Awesome build man, thank you. I love how you incorporate the core design of the base to seamlessly blend into the decorations. Just perfect!
That is one of the things I like to do 😊. I'll frequently try to "hide" supports as decorative elements, and other such tricks to make it aesthetic. Glad you enjoyed!
The dedication, the attention to details, the great quality, huge respect!
Much appreciated!
Well done and great editing. I'll have to give this a try.
Taco deserves all the credit in the world for her editing and attention to detail. Thank you!
Perfect timing. Just popped back in to 7D2D and my day 7 horde base took a beating and I didn't fare much better but this design will do the job wonderfully.
That is awesome, good luck!
just tried this for my day 7 horde, some things to note:
- melee a few hits, repair a few blocks. basically repair every two or three hits you do. there's no destroyed texture for these, so just alternate to stay on top of repairs.
- make the block in your inv and copy rotation before horde starts. keep in hotbar for if it breaks.
- if you're aiming for headshots with a pipe baton, aim at the gap between the top cross and the wedges
- zombs can get into crawl mode on top of the stack at the front in that gap, so make sure they don't break the top railing bits
- zombs can get into crawl mode and go through the defensive position gap also, so make sure you don't have a friend that's snuck in beside/below you if you keep taking damage

Awesome, thank you! And thanks for the feedback! We'll try to better balance clear understanding while being as concise as possible.

Happy to be back at it! Stay tuned for more 😊
Can I just say how great the music was.
This will definitely work for bats and clubs :)
As for the rage mode.
Nice find. You've given us builders something to experiment with. Thanks.
My intentions exactly. Have fun building!

Fantastic design, it's nice to have good fighting options especially for early game hordes.
Agreed! Having early horde options is great when your gear sucks. Good luck!
@pseudoposse okay, in your simple design, what were each of the stair forms you used? I can't seem to locate the double wide stairs you used that reach the bottom. Additionally, for shits a giggles, how high did YOU build the 2 platforms for the video?
@pseudoposse it appears that it's 5 blocks. Can you confirm.
@@carpysmind I used the regular STAIRS FILLED, and the STAIRS 01 for the simple base design. The double wide staircase is just the STAIRS FILLED placed side by side.
And yes I can confirm the platforms are 5 high :)

Amazing - very well done!
I played on console for years and now that ill finally have access to the newest version of the game in a couple days its hit me that none of the horde base designs i used will work so this video was very useful
Hope it will help! We'll have a new video coming out by the end of the week that should be useful :)
Im not sure this base will work for console it seem when youre in a base too high up the z seem to go for your foundation and not bother about the path you set
@@ignorant5369 the fun pimps released 1.0 in console 2 or 3 weeks ago. It definitely would not have worked on the original console version though
At what stage (day#) in horde night progression do you recommend one have your "end game" base up and running? I'm completely new to the game and 60 years old.
I am going to try building your early game recommendation now, Day 4, and see how I do. 😊
It depends on game difficulty settings, and max number of horde zombies allowed. I'd say if you rush concrete you could have it ready by day 35. I think you'd want it up by day 49 or so to handle rads and demos.
@pseudoposse I'm playing Pregen06k3, default settings except 120 minute days. Thanks for the prompt response and keep the videos coming.
i use a similar version of this base. I have them drop into a pit with pressure plates that trigger 8 dart traps. I've yet to have a demo explode
That's great!
Great concept!
Really awesome base! It must be noted that the "low tech" option for blocking the zombies crawling through the blocks is not available to be added to the base you built in the video.
I felt that would have been important to mention, as you only said "I opted to go with the high tech variant" (duh, can't do the low tech one 😉)
Viva la Pole 4 Way
Kudos to you sir for bringing up this point!
You could go with the low tech option with a redesign ;)
The hi-tech option required less work for sure which is why I went with it. Putting in the pillars would require tearing down the region around the pole 4way on both sides and reconfiguring. Glad you liked the base!
I like to use wrap around stairs because it won't trigger demolishers from shooting
Thanks for sharing the tip :)
I'll need to incorporate that in the future :)

Glad you liked video :)
wow amazing! i love it thanks ;)
No problem 😊
Loved this base!
Thanks!!
You could also use scaffold ladders instead if that is easier for you :)
I've got an idea or two for loots ;)
Great content as always brother
Much appreciated!
Great build! Thank you! So my question would be based on the zombie AI should we be building this base a certain number of blocks high to avoid the rage mode?
Our pleasure! yes that would be 15 blocks high
Hell yeah, too easy. Thanks brotha
Haha sure thing!
That would look pretty dang cool!
what a great video. Thanks for the tutorial!
You're very welcome!
Me encanta la música 🕺🏻 thank you very much for the video!
Glad you like it!
Was looking for base ideas this looks interesting. Would making the stairs an obstacle course to slow there ascent make this better or worse ?
It depends on what your objective is. Adding an obstacle course on the stairs would slow the rate in which they loop so if you are worried about getting overwhelmed, or your base is made of weak materials and you need to buy some more time, that would work.
Looks very interesting! Two questions tho: how high is the second base? And why not put some bladetraps in the bottom?
The second base is about 13 blocks high. Definitely no more than 15. Blade traps I would only use if they are within repairable range. They are fragile and if left alone, will go down very quickly. Dart traps plus electric fence posts with some tripwire would hold up better at the bottom of you wanted some more automated kills.
@@pseudoposse ooh, okay, makes sense. Thank you for your reply!
@@DirektorKatastroff No problem, good luck :)
Great video and awesome design. Would it work with two paths? One for Players who want to Melee and the other for those using Ranged Weapons.

@@pseudoposse Thanks for the quick reply - I'll test it on a LAN Server and see how it goes.
@@Bob.Jenkins Awesome, good luck!
If they are starting to attack random blocks, that means they can't get to you.
this is great... now see if you can make a base solely using the pole 4 way block lol
That would be hilarious lol. I'll have to think about that one :D
Is the idea to have a sperate base for fighting hordes? Or where do all of your workbench and storage go? Underground?
I generally make my "home" base and horde base separately. But if you wanted to attach this base to your crafting/storage area, you certainly could. Either make the fighting position larger to house your stuff with some additional protection for that in case they break through. Or dig beneath the fighting position for an underground base. Just be cautious about creating a complete path from underground to your fighting position as zombies will then tunnel down and go up.
have you seen any difference in the new traps? i noticed the blades are new models and the electric fence is shorter, and performance changes?
I've started to play around with new traps and you are correct about fence posts being shorter. I haven't noticed any performance improvements.
Know I’m late but this video helped a lot, thank you❤.
Never too late, our pleasure
How do you see the colors of the stability for the blocks already placed?
If they fixed the clipping issue, wouldn't that also stop them from falling through the same block pattern you are using as a floor no?
The difference in my opinion is they can fall through the holes without being squeezed but to get through them while walking/crawling, it is normally too narrow for them.
do you thinking building this base in the water would cause any pathing problems with zombies ??
Nope! In fact, it could actually help as water will slow down zombies making them take longer to do the loop. And it also serves as an anti rage mechanic so you could build the path at a lower height in water versus land.
Just be sure the stairs extends all the way to the bottom of the water.
How would you modify this to accommodate for parties? Like a full party of 8?
Not enough zombies are falling they cluster right behind front crosses (4 poles) and doing mayhem. @@pseudoposse
@@pseudoposse Thank you so much for that. Love your presentations and ideas. Regards to all.
Oh no that sounds tragic! In future videos, we'll try to come up with a way to make the build process more visually understandable :)
@pseudoposse thank you brother
Could add a steal door to drop them if they pile up and give you time to repair
Absolutely! You could put a vault door there and drop zombies immediately in front of the pole 4way
Dont get me wrong I love the look and base design but as someone that plays insane/NM/perma death I normally just go with stairs to a horizontal pole to my melee position and have just been using scafolding railing or ladder and use as little materials as possible.
I tried this on a week 3 horde.. no bueno.. I did not get hit by cop spit.. but I had multiple squeeze throughs.. and they were not falling through the holes with any meaningful frequency.
also, I found many of the zombies were not tall enough for me to melee on their heads.
During the second horde, what are your player levels? The difficulty is tied to game stage which is mainly driven by the levels of your party.

I would try it myself but my PC needs an upgrade before i can play anything beyond alpha 15 as that was the last stable version that i got more than 30 frames on
You could certainly line campfires underneath the holes though I don't think the campfires would last that long.
It isn't necessarily better, just another alternative to mix things up :)
How does this handle the new wolf zombie?
I don't think I had any spawn in my lategame horde but if I had to guess, I would suspect they wouldn't fall through the holes...or possibly not as frequently. Could be wrong. But in any case, you should be able to easily melee them once they reach your position.
Wedge Narrow has lost the No.1 place lol
Possibly 😆
Can you do a horde base for the Mod Age of Oblivion?
I can eventually do that! I've done bases for other mods in the past so I'll put that down as something to try.
How am i supposed to watch the video if i cant stop dancing
The answer is just keep dancing :D
I'm on 1.0 ps5 but I can't seem to fine the ramp 804. Nvm it's just now called wedge narrow low for those struggling to find the block on console
Love it
The Fun Pimps will fix this in 3, 2, 1 ...
Hope not! I don't really see this as an exploit unlike some other blocks which are clearly more exploitive.
@@pseudoposse We'll see. Realistically, the cop puke "should" get though an open space. And a spear "should" only be useful though open spaces. @@pseudoposse Agreed 100%. That cop puke, when looking at it, make NO sense. Don't get me started on zombies somehow strapping base killing bombs to themselves either.
@@GinSoakedBrain There are certainly logical gaps in some of the game mechanics :D
I’m a new player, how far can this base take me? I keep finding good bases to build but finding out they don’t make it pass day 49
It really depends.
@@pseudoposse I appreciate the response! Makes perfect sense, lemme drop a like and a sub 🤙
@@rafalwasik334 No problem, best of luck! And welcome aboard :)
What gamestage was this horde on if you remember?
Can't recall the exact number, but I think it was like a day 77 horde. It was enough to have radiated + demos.
@@pseudoposse awesome I just didn't want to build another base just to have it leveled again haha we got wrecked on our last horde haha
Is there a step-by-step tutorial for the late-game design?
We have a step by step base guide lined up this week, stay tuned!
don`t do it with a sledgehammer. you will destroy your defence. the space where you can hit the zombies is very small.
Whats that outro song called sounds sick
zombies are not able to climb trellises?
They should be able to climb any type of ladders that the player can climb.
Put two hatches at the end that open different directions and as the zombies pile up they stove others through and used scaffolding bars instead of 4 way poles for easier hits and I can reach the hatches to open or close them
@@No0ne_Knows24 Awesome, glad you figured out a viable solution!
Pretty sure they patched this out. I built the 4 way pole bridge exactly like this in beta 1.0 and they walked across it without even a stumble.
Just tested out my base during a horde and zombies still drop through the holes. Make sure the pole 4-way path is two wide and you adequately block the sides while leaving the central large hole unobstructed. Should still work.
As of the new update today, zombies no longer fall ... working 2 days ago, updated today, no longer working
Just tested it out right now, works for me still
How many estimated block?
You mean for the entire build? Maybe around 1000 blocks give or take
Thanks for answering!
Good luck!
@@pseudopossethanks it works now I was wondering where I have seen that block to think that I played myself for 30 mn by searching "wedge tip"
