Pick 2 Skill lines to start with. 2 Weapon skill lines, 2 Class skill lines, and slot 2 skills from each on your Weapon bars. While training, look at the Endgame skills, for instance in Nightblade. Are you going to be doing a lot of Assassination, or Siphoning? Okay, either you can slot 2 each of all your Class Skills, and have room for nothing else, or you can Prioritize at the beginning. You can always come back and finish off that last skill line for that last passive later. Going back to Nightblade (Because that's what I'm speedrunning today.) Which one can you afford to save for last: Hemorrage, Dark Veil, or Transfer? All right, if you pick 2 of 2, then you can get those 2 up to 50 faster, AND have a couple slots open for Weapon, and Guild Skills.
Oh right, and open up Port Hunding first. (That's Stros M'Kai on a map.) Even my endgame Sorcerers (Mostly) do most of their crafting there, because the crafting stations and bank are close enough to Streak between them. It's that convenient, until you buy a home, and collect everything you need to make a better Base of Operations, it doesn't get better than that. Also, there's no Undead, or Daedra on the island, so you can sweep it for Skyshards, do the quick quest, skip right to the Mages/Fighter's guild, then hit Betnikh. Which has a graveyard, and 2 battlefields full of Spirits you can grind up to Silver Shards. I speedrun up to level 50 for fun, every other day. There's no better start, even if you don't know where you're going, or what to do when you get there yet.
The "Meta" classes are changing every three months (apart from Necro which has been present for a while longer due to a class specific debuff), so play what looks and feels appealing to you and just enjoy it. Your time as top DD class will come shortly. It's also very unimportant in general to play what the meta dictates as it's only really important if you're going for scores. If you and your team are good enough, you can play off-meta and still perform great. This game takes a while to get into and to get good at. If you're used to being carried by your equipment rather than skill like in most MMOs, then this game might not be for you.
Tip: When you start a new character and have chosen what type of armor your character is going to wear (light, medium or heavy), make sure you wear mostly that type of armor BUT also 1 item each of the other two types of armor. So if you wear light armor wear almost all light armor but also 1 item of medium armor and heavy armor. This way you will level up all the 3 armor skill types. This will make it easier if you want to change your character in the future and want to wear a different type of armor then. It is much easier to do it this way in the beginning than to do this later in the game, because later on you are really going to need the extra stats you often get by wearing a full set of the same type of armor.
I quit and came back recently, really starting to enjoy it especially with a companion now. I never knew I could pay gold for bag upgrades or mount upgrades. I thought you could only get that with crowns... thank you so much!

@@tintuthotho7345 You can find the companions on the game under Allies in the collections section (press the U button). I don't have any companions yet but I believe there are many different ones now. I think some can be obtained through quests/rewards for things and I think some you may be able to buy. That is an option, but everyone can chose to do things in their own way. If you do the researching for traits or more than 1 character or even on all of them, it will give you freedom if you want to change what your character does and is able to do in the future. It’s still stupid you can’t buy the crafting bag. The only thing that is frustrating for me. I’m against monthly subscriptions and I don’t mind buying dlc and so forth, and it’s annoying leaving out something that is so incredibly helpful to players and excluding people that pay when they want and for what they want.
This game is just too much of a commitment for me. I started playing it back when One Tamriel came out and I enjoyed the 6-ish months I played it, but it just dominated my time too much.
Thanks for the tips man but dude... what kind of dog sht name is brah we got this lmfaoooo
i hate the diablo/WoW perspective. Makes the game looks cheap and less engaging
