Yep! I know that feeling. Unless there were legal issues that forced them to remain silent, their sudden departure with no explanation whatsoever was a rude and heartless thing to do. Para-social relationships do exist, we grow attached to the people we "interact" with online, and to suddenly ghost someone leaves hurt feelings.

If that’s the case I hope those people temper their negative feelings a tiny bit and learn to understand that adversity and change, including nonsensical blunt goodbyes, are a part of the content life and even music creators can spice things up a bit or need a clean break to start something new or different. I grew up with “sweeps week” where a TV show would do crazy things for max ratings, like kill off characters or do a musical number. I assume their hiatus wasn’t for ratings but for some metamorphosis. Whatever it was I will welcome it and focus on my lessons and avoiding the parasocial confusion that was experienced during their brief departure. The fact that their goodbye made no sense was the light of hope I held onto, hope everyone can sort of understand that, but I am old so probably it was easier for me to handle.

I understand your response, but TwoSet shouldn't carry the burden of fans' emotional wellbeing. They are allowed to take time off, either for a break from all the chaos, or to work on an important project. And they aren't obligated to give us an explanation. I'm willing to bet that part of the reason they posted that dramatic farewell message was probably because of fans getting too attached and dependent on them. That's a lot of pressure. And it would be understandable for them to effectively dissolve twoset violin for a while to escape all that pressure.

Even if it was “we are tired burnt out and done, bye” They should absolutely not have to go into depth if it’s personal or private. They didn't fully delete them, they were marked as private. There may have been a reason that was impacted by the specifics of this change. If this is a rebrand, they may be having to alter something about the originals, for instance.

Only guessing based on how other channels work, I would assume the secret owner/company of the channel sold it or shut it down and either someone new bought it or they bought it themselves, and that is why they deleted all the old videos because they dont own the rights to the videos.
I think they're leaning into the whole B2TSM thing. They had already said before that they had a lot more planned for that; it looks like they might be doing a whole series or something. Perhaps they feel that they've run through all the material they could as 'Twoset', and they're committing to a new direction.

I just read the article in New York Times, thank you Twoset violin for being part of our lives. I discovered you around 2015, I think (with your lie in april parody) and didn't think I would stick around till the end. Not only you two gave us laughs but also motivated us to practice, showcased many talented ling ling wannabes, spreading the greatness of classical music and get me addicted bubble tea too. Twoset Violin would be missed by I wish you the best.

You could have do that without all the drama of leaving with almost nothing to say and without eliminating (privatting) most of your old content. Of course, you got some extra money from sales you did with your merch from people feeling bad bc you were gone.
One of the main goals of creating drama was to shut down the Apparel Shop more quickly, as running a store comes with maintenance costs. Manipulating fans' emotions and making them desperate to buy the last products was a cruel strategy to close the shop as fast as possible.

I understand your response, but TwoSet shouldn't carry the burden of fans' emotional wellbeing. They are allowed to take time off, either for a break from all the chaos, or to work on an important project. And they aren't obligated to give us an explanation. I'm willing to bet that part of the reason they posted that dramatic farewell message was probably because of fans getting too attached and dependent on them. That's a lot of pressure. And it would be understandable for them to effectively dissolve twoset violin for a while to escape all that pressure.

They should absolutely not have to go into depth if it’s personal or private. They should not have to worry about the fans who had legitimate breakdowns as they were obviously overly and unhealthily attached.
But regardless how much talent and humor they have. They have to have an audience. Its not wrong for normal fans to want a brief explanation given. And a definite we are just taking a break or we are done for good if it wasn’t going to be a 2-3 day prank.

They didn't fully delete them, they were marked as private. There may have been a reason that was impacted by the specifics of this change. If this is a rebrand, they may be having to alter something about the originals, for instance.

Only guessing based on how other channels work, I would assume the secret owner/company of the channel sold it or shut it down and either someone new bought it or they bought it themselves, and that is why they deleted all the old videos because they dont own the rights to the videos.

But maybe you'll find some time to read the comments under your last announcement. It was a quite shitty way to "go". Of course you're not responsible for the well-being of your fans, but many were genuinely worried that something really bad had happened to one or both of you. We live in a world that's messed up anyway, I don't need more 'artificial' drama to be honest.

Yeah, I feel the same. I was 98% sure, they were just rebranding, but it's just a cheap and un-classy way to go about it. With all the media craze about "ending Twoset"... it's just not a good style and feels like they don't give shit about their fans without whom they wouldn't have been able to build a career like this.

I had this argument before in their other videos, but, as said before, if you feel emotionally attached to someone you don't know, and that doesn't know you back, that is not ok. You could have do that without all the drama of leaving with almost nothing to say and without eliminating (privatting) most of your old content. Of course, you got some extra money from sales you did with your merch from people feeling bad bc you were gone.
One of the main goals of creating drama was to shut down the Apparel Shop more quickly, as running a store comes with maintenance costs. Manipulating fans' emotions and making them desperate to buy the last products was a cruel strategy to close the shop as fast as possible.
