I was a beta tester for ESO and played for a few months after release. Then moved on to a different MMO (which I don't even remember which one that was).
But for some reason I came back. Started a new character. Picked up the DLC and chapters. And my God ... as a casual player it will take me years to complete all the content. I've got only four - five months into this game and I've barely scratched the surface.
As a suggestion, avoid a mistake I made. I picked up quests without any real thought. And now I've got +20 quests on any given day and no matter how many I try to clear there always seems to be the same number after it is all done. Stay in one zone. Complete it before moving on to the next. I've completed close to 250 quests at this point and I can only claim to have completed one zone in its entirety. And about three zones with about a 85 - 90 % completion. And yeah, there are some zones I've never stepped a single foot on. It is just insane how much content is in this game now.
Additionally, I don't use mods in my game but pretty much every single person on youtube does. And I suspect anybody who does heavy pvp or group events is also a serious mod user. So if you do come back, you might want to consider that direction as well. And I'll be honest, some of the mods people use just seem to be basic "makes sense" changes to the UI. I can't wrap my head around why Bethesda hasn't adopted similar modifications to the UI that just seem to make so much sense in the game play.
A key to cheap fast travel is a player house. There are probably close to two dozen in the game at this point. You don't have to spend real money on this if you don't want. The game gives you a free room at an Inn just to get your feet wet by completing a short quest. But you can travel to your home for free and if you chose wisely, you probably will have a teleport near your home just a short walk away.

I would recommend upgrading mount stamina before storage space. You want some extra mount stamina so that you can just run through bad guys without getting dismounted by a couple of hits. It saves time and aggravation when you're on your way somewhere else to not be dismounted at every encampment on the way. If you need more storage space, you can purchase backpack upgrades from the vendor with gold.

I've been attempting to get into ESO but with a different approach than that I had before with other MMOs. Therefore I'm trying to watch less/play more and I'm also better "filtering" everything I get to know about the game in order to have a more "fresh" experience (without worring too much about meta and competitive stuff which is IMO what totally destroys my view/concept of MMOs).

Really hate lock-picking, can only do simple/intermediate chests. Often running with mis-match clothing. Earning money is so difficult. Don't understand why some items can deposit to bank and others can't. Hate the number of days it takes to research an item. I'm solo-ing. Haven't done a single dungeon. On xbox its about half off to buy the repair kit from a guild trader than from the merchant, at least from the 10 traders I’ve checked. You also gotta take into consideration that you can only repair one item at a time whereas if you go to a vendor and repair they do it all at once and you don’t have just another item taking up that sweet inventory space.

Great guide. Hah I've got 1200 hours into eso and I didn't even know about locking gear. OMG! Lol. I would also add a few useful tips.
-use minion and add ons, they are so useful. Especially the ones that show you mages guild books, dungeon bosses, etc.
-find all of the guild skill lines early so you start levelling them ASAP. Especially undaunted, fighters and mages. A lot of people miss the undaunted one early. There is a NPC in stonefalls near docks at a bar that let's you.
-would say you don't ever need to buy a repair kit tbh. I've never bought 1. You get enough to you for free same with potions.
-i agree on the gear thing except for PVP. If people are doing a lot of under 50 pvp then buying or crafting low level gear is very useful, especially on weapons as that's the most bang for buck.
    Good guide lucky!

But what is important to.pick up early is Fighters guild. And also mages guild. Any other guild is skill line is locked behind questing. Exept the thief guild (legardman) that is automatic, open chest, loot stolen items and sell them and the line progresses

Love your vids and so glad I found them before really getting into this game... Or "trying" to, lol. The Combat feels so damn clunky with all the Light Weaving And Animation Cancelling... Learning it though... Is that seriously how they meant for us to play this game - by using this, hm, "exploit" (used loosely - idk what to call it) to make combat faster/better - or was that not their intention and just sort of happened, lol?

Isn't it a bit risky to recommend using the Transmutation Station to new players, without warning them about being wasteful with transmute crystals?
(new player here that spent his first transmute crystals on making a medusa necklace at a below-cp level :p)

Are the in-game repair kits and the crown shop repair still different? The shop ones ( which you can get as daily log in rewards for free ) use one kit to fully repair your character whereas the in game ones only repair one piece, so you use 7 in game kits to repair all pieces? Also If you are a beginning player ( most likely to need this advice ) you likely only need petty repair kits or slightly higher, which were only 45 gold per, or, if you can find them in the guild stores should be dirt cheap. We don't all start at max level, y/know.

I spent way too much time leveling crafting and making my own training gear. I was max level in crafting before I reached CP; way too soon because I couldn't even use the gear. I spent lots of money respecing skill points because I didn't have enough points to support both my crafting habit and my regular game play. I also starting learning traits that had nothing to do with the stuff I wanted to wear, just researching what was available when I was allowed.

Great video, would suggest anyone leveling a crafter to put at least three skill points into research skill line as soon as possible so u can research three things at once as well as reduce research time. First six months or so when I started I only thought u could research two items at a time for some reason, then I put some more points into research skill tree and found out u could do three! Would have been finished alot quicker if I'd realised that sooner.

yo, that lock method is super important! I knew about it but didn't care to lock everything in my bank. well I was a little drunk playing, and was deconstructing all my gear for my new toon. she is level 33. I deconstructed all my banked gear. now, im casual in playing. so it was mostly blue/some purple dungeon sets. a couple of undaunted gear. so its a big enough loss to really suck. but let me grind for a month and I can get most of it back.

I've got a question about your repair kit thing, I've always just sold mine to merchants and used the merchant to repair, unless I've just not been paying attention and the grand repair kits act like crown repair kits now and 1 repairs all your gear isn't it cheaper to just merchant repair. I normally repair once every few hours of playing or if I've died several times and tops I'll hit like 600g for a repair, but if your buying grands at 70g an you have to use 7 at a time that's going to get expensive or do you just go until something is broken? I guess that answers my questions because that may be cheaper than a merchant, research needs to be done lol, just found your videos recently, love them, keep up the good work!

    • @LuckyGhost
      @LuckyGhost  3 года назад +1

generally i've found the kits to be the cheapest option when purchased for a good price! :D but the merchant is so convenient so I mostly only use the kits if i need them on the fly
