    I agree that Sadhguru acts like a politician sometimes which I don't like either, but I also see that you misunderstand him sometimes too. What he means by people should experiment and see what makes them feel more agile, he was talking about how being on a plant-based diet is what makes you more agile and tranquil. Meat is known to make people more tense and more rigid, and also causes lots of health problems in the long-run.
    And how he should also say that it is bad even for the animals is true, but sometimes you need to touch on other reasons in order to have a better impact. Not everyone is going to stop eating meat because of the animals, but a whole lot of people will consider stopping meat if they know that it harms them, first and foremost, in so many ways. It's also not very productive when vegans just focus on the harm it is doing to animals. It becomes more of an emotional reason than a rational one, which is why many view vegans as being too emotional.
    So even though it is bad for animals, it is bad for the one who eats them too. There's nothing wrong in convincing people in this way, especially if you can get the same desired result out of it.

      Absolutely! Most sensible comment here. It’s this approach that actually works on a larger scale than just making it about animal cruelty. I have done the advanced meditations from isha Yoga and I saw a lot of people just turn to Satvik diet with what changes it does to their body and mind. While in this animal cruelty approach, half of my followers mute me and my opinions, they are not even in the state of mind to receive what I’m saying. Half of the people turning their diet for good is just vanished in a blip. It’s about the larger picture. I want the world to turn vegan but first understand how people receive it and work smart to bring this issue to them by making it about them. Loved the comment! Cheers.

      The cycle of life. Things which can change and the things which we cannot. Let's not shame people if they're not doing something 100%. It's about reducing the suffering, not to completely destroy it. As it can never be done. Again, if someone is doing better than 60-70% of people out there, that's a good thing. So let's not shame people because they are vegetarian or something. Most of them simply don't know how the dairy works today. Especially places like India.
      The guiltshaming often comes from ego. We want to avoid that.

      All I was trying to say that I have encountered so many people here who come from upper middle class background, those who work in reputed MNC. It’s not about the People who live in rural India I am talking about.
      Here I have seen people who hate each other on the basis of that so and so eats beef or pork. But when you say that beef is there because dairy consumption is so high they don’t want listen or will change the topic.
      And it’s a small segment of group. I am sure there after more than good 800-900 million people who think this way. Or more than that. I have seen same happening in western countries and their sentiments about eating meat.
      In India here religion plays a big role in how ways are setup. Just because certain god likes to drink milk all the mothers will push their kids for the same. That’s all I meant anyways.

    What do you think about lions and other carnivores which don't care what their food is feeling ?

  • @tsv555
    @tsv555 Год назад +4

    I don't think he said it in the best way by food is not a philosophy because there has to be some logical discernment to see what is best for all but it also comes down to seeing what's best for us, not for our taste or in our head but genuinely best for our living, that's what Sadhguru meant.
    By experimenting he meant to see what food is best for out body. Of course that is hard as a general piece of advice to be implemented because as he said people will misunderstand this bcs one thing is happening in the stomach, another in the head and taste and people usually choose the latter. He has even said to all the people eating eggs, next time you eat one imagine a small bird coming out of the egg and see if you still want to eat it. His message is great for humans and animals if not misunderstood.
    Sadhguru gives examples of fruits and vegetables being better for you as opposed to saying that eating meat is unethical because people won't listen to him, he knows that very well. He is aware that it's bad for animals. He is looking at ways to make people eat less animal products because there are only benefits to that. He lists all the benefits they'll have bcs they wouldnt listen otherwise.
    He also is not 100% supportive of dairy consumption, he has just stated some facts. He said cow is like a mother to indians because they drank the milk when there were famines and nourished people. He doesn't promote eating dairy. He has adviced people with asthma to cut out dairy so they'll get better. He actively speaks about the importance of a vegetable/fruit dominant diet. He said that he himself consumes very little dairy or mostly none at all. I'm not justifying that, just stating what he said.
    The last statement that you disagreed with about the lifestyle and food choices. He didn't say to not strive to have better lifestyles or to have more resources, he outlined an example of how people, when they can afford it, choose more expensive food not on what is best for them or for the environment but on what they see as a 'good' or 'modern' lifestyle which they saw from others.

    The place where I live in united states, vegan food is extremely expensive.. It is very difficult to be fully satisfied with the little vegan things that I can afford.. I feel energy-less and can't focus on my studies until I've had something filling. That is the reason that I at-least consume milk/coffee daily, cause it gives me the energy I need at times when my mood is low.. That is the reason why I understand Sadhguru and where it is coming from on his behalf.. Since you are wealthy enough to buy everything vegan you must not forget that there are regions on this planet where people barely have any food to eat. For them, if not meat at-least milk or dairy should be an option, otherwise they will simply die of hunger and starvation. Your views only target a specific group of people who are stable enough in their life or at-least on a level where they can take care of themselves financially to make this transition.. And I welcome this initiative of yours, it is not a bad thing, you are saying something that is good for our environment. But on a holistic level, you are not being practical! You have not seen the world enough yet or lived in places where let alone the idea of going vegan, there is literally no food available for many to stay alive.

    • @nikhil_01a
      @nikhil_01a Год назад +3

      In places where finding something 100% vegan is difficult, people will have to sleep on an empty stomach! And guess for how many days can they carry on like that? Now imagine if they are Sadhguru's biggest fans and they hear him say that everybody should only eat vegan food. period. How will it impact them? Do you think it will make sense to them when they know they will literally die if they go empty stomach for too many days? So unlike you, he can't do that, Sadhguru has to diplomatically handle this keeping all stakeholders in mind.. And I think he put it out the best way by saying eat whatever is best for your body and then backed it up by explaining how meat is bad for your body. So he didn't directly so say no to meat but he definitely sent the message across that if you are in the position to avoid meat then you must avoid meat or reduce animal cruelty in whatever practical way possible.

      Rubbish. Plant foods are some of the cheapest everywhere. I imagine being vegan takes more effort in India because milk is in nearly all processed foods (like it was in Britain until a few years ago) but that doesn't take anything away from the principle of veganism. Maybe his name is sad guru, because he brings sadness, and cruelty to the world, and so animals. Suffering is because he like a politician wants the world to be a lesser place to live for every animal on this planet(this includes humans). This is why his statements are confusing, and back & forth instead of being clear, and straight forward.

    13:55 re the controversial opinion. It is an inescapable fact, that an increase in wealth, leads to an increase in consumption of animal products and, yes, in India that means an increase in dairy (e.g. ghee & your diabetes causing milky sweets). If you want a really controversial opinion, the surest way to reduce meat consumption, is to keep as many people as possible, as poor as possible. If that's not palatable, then the vegan movement's going to have to come up with a better global strategy that includes a degree of conditional redistribution of wealth. In short, reducing wealth in developed nations to increase wealth in developing nations.
    In India & Bangladesh, meat consumption is around 3.5 to 4kg/pa, malnutrition rates are around 20 to 35%, & real starvation is just around the corner (as many as 2,500,000 die of hunger), therefore there's an entirely different equation going on there with people who have never had, struggling to have enough or any. It will be a hard message to push, to get people who have never had, to give it up. Like being the kid who arrives at the party, after all the cake is nearly finished, & being told they can't have any.
    Up until recently in the West, meat consumption is around 100kg/pa, or 25 times higher, dairy is an effortless, 365 days per year supply, & most vegans, even those growing up on welfare in housing estates, have had their binge on unlimited choices of food & animal products. For most, food insecurity is unknown, therefore to renouncing excesses is not a difficult thing, it's a relief. A cure from illnesses of indulgence. Many (admittedly not all), have the money to experiment & buy expensive alternatives.
    It's a very different equation we're selling.
    Putting aside our lack of influence at such a level, if we truly believe in & want a "vegan world" like we say we do, then we have to start from the acceptance that veganism is a very long way way off even conceiving a global strategy, and if is to happen, it will only be achieved with a socialistic redistribution of wealth & food resources from wealth nations to poor.

In case you want to make any video on exposing him, I can help you with pointing out specific content where he is doing this negative stuff.

    There seems to be a schism between a philosophical approach to eating animals/consuming dairy and the actual reality. A lot of the comments seem to be focusing on the spiritual teachings whereby' ahisma' is a question of choice, as opposed to an individuals spiritual self determinism - as if the two are somehow separate. So, you can talk about compassion for self and others and all living creatures and how we are all 'one' and light your incense, whilst completely by passing the issue of how animals are reared and slaughtered and the mass production of meat/dairy for profit. Sitting on your meditation cushion/being mindful/living in the 'now' and striving to 'enlightenment' whilst simultaneously choosing to support animal suffering because it's a matter of how your consciousness might or might have developed, as justification. It's about ethics. When you know this stuff, truly understand what is going on, how can you continue to support it ? What are your ethics based upon? What are the 'ethics' of the people engaging in these businesses - the slaughter houses/butchers/farmers etc what kind of compassion are they embodying and when you buy your meat/dairy, knowing what suffering has been caused, where's yours?

    • @jonahwhale9047
      @jonahwhale9047 Год назад

      @@Empathy4Animals411 I see, so you don't believe in evolution either? The only disagreement I would have with it is that we were gatherer-scavengers and gatherer-hunters, not hunter-gatherers. It was the gathering that sustained and allowed the hunting. The hunter-gatherer concept came about partly due to a lack of technology that could trace plant based residue at archeological digs therefore it was assumed their diet was corpse based; part of it was simply the chauvinism of the time, they wanted to reinforce a worldview that reflected their values.
      But were there times when humans eat animal corpses to survive? For sure. All the say back. And including other humans. Caught by a drought, caught by an ice age, long migrations across tundra or mountain ranges etc. There are people who are still living at a stone age level, and they are still killing and eating animals. And humans.
      What else do you think the stone axe marks on bones were? How else did the animal DNA get where it occurs between teeth etc?

The problem i faced was i do very heavy lifting squat with 210 deadlift 230. So during my vegan days first my hamstring tore twice during deadlifts, then on the same year i also partially tore a quad tendon. My doctor advised to start including meat, eggs. So i included animal products again, i haven't got injured again nor bones nor muscles. I think veggies are good for vitamins but for protein meat are more suitable for human body. One thing people are getting confused about with the diet of Indians and the increase in heart attacks is with the usage of ghee. Most Indians in India do NOT USE GHEE. REAL Ghee is a highly complex product made from the milk of only a select breed of Indian cow that have been raised free range and fed organic feed. It actually is very healthy, beneficial and Spiritual for humans to consume internally and topically and is a Spiritual aid for Hindus. Indians are dying from heart attacks due to the over consumption of refined oils manufactured from western countries as they are are far more cheaper and readily available in stores than ghee to purchase and that is what they use on a daily basis causing all sorts of health issues. Diabetes is caused due to the over consumption of sugar over there, not dairy. Dont blame the Ghee, its precious. 🙏

    Plus Plants are life too if you are a vegan you are consuming those life as well so it's not a question of morality anyway but your own well being plants are life sensitive too so don't say that they dont suffer what you do to them just because you can't recognise if they are suffering or not

    I don't think Sadhguru said anything wrong in this video. Because -
    He was only asked about how vegan diet can do to your health, so his answers were around the question mostly. He didn't adress to animal cruelty because it wasn't primarily the question that the woman asked .
    But I do agree, that Indians see a problem with meat but not with dairy and say things like "cow is our mother" just to convince themselves that whatever they're doing, they're doing with love. Almost all the indians that consume dairy haven't even met the cow they're calling their mother. So yes, I'm an Indian and a vegan. I like Sadhguru for his other aspects but completely disagree with what he has to say about dairy.
    But i don't see any problem , with anything he said in the video you played.

    It is not to make video which interprets for the audience ....I think the interpretation should be for the content viewers not for the content creators
