It’s so great listening to you and seeing everyone going through similar experiences. It’s been so hard and devastating for me, my hair used to be so thick and long and it was just been falling out so much everyday. But she is right to trust in the process. My beauty is in my heart.

The biggest mistake I had was being afriad to wash and brush my hair! I ended up just making my hair very knotty, which lead to more hair loss, since there were so many knots in my hair. I now brush my hair very delicately at least once a day and I have noticed such as decrease in my hair loss! I am still washing my hair every 2-3 days because that is what I think works best for me.

This is awesome, I love that you mentioned brushing you hare very lightly - I think that makes a big difference as well and can totally see why not brushing it would lead to more loss over all cause you have to pull on the knots! So happy you shared 💜

@@lisamaier9984 I just did this, because I have CHUNKS (from showering and excess shedding) in the garbage. They do have the bulbs. This channel is saving my life right now because I have been freaking out. I got severely sick from covid. Thankfully didn't end up on oxygen or anything, but had pretty severe pneumonia and almost could've been. I started noticing hair fall out about a month later. Now it's about two months later and it's falling out even more. Over 1,000 strands a day, definitely. I'm sick over it because I love my hair so much, but this place is giving me hope that it's temporary and I need to take the proper steps to get my hair back. I noticed that my hair strands got thicker and shinier, but the growth needs time and it's a matter of accepting and communicating with the scalp 🥰

I had dengue last year around August. But i was already going through hair shredding. After few months of dengue it further deteriorated and i lost about 70% of my hair. I got by blood routine done and results were profoundly bad. My vitamins d levels were extremely low, low vitamin b, low iron and I had thyroid as well. Okay, then I went to a physician, felt better in a few days and my extreme hair shedding reduced. Now my thyroid is under control, I feel much better physically but hair still shreds. I can say I lose as much I gain. So after a year, I stand in same situation. Though I have hopes that I will get over this soon. Matter of time. But it does hamper my social life and induces stress at times.

If you look at some of the hairs that fell out and see if there is a white "bulb " at one end, that will tell you if it is TE. No bulb chances are it is nOT TE. I saw a doctor and had a hair plug taken because I was going crazy about it. LONG MESSAGE ALERT 🚨SOMEONE PLEASE READ AND RESPOND IF GOING THROUGH/GONE THROUGH SOMETHING SIMILAR AND WHAT HELPED IF ANYTHING:
I had hair so similar to how yours is now (finer, pretty, wavy) I just noticed yr by yr it progressively was getting thinner and thinner. Never really freaking out about it since I was so young, so I just started to put extensions in (which probably hurt more than helped)
From the time i was 13-26, I was prescribed and taking adderall daily for ADD. I’ll get more into that later. As well as went through a major traumatic event, I found out I was pregnant at age 17, (at this time i no longer wore the extensions) and made the conscious decision to give her up for adoption. During that pregnancy, I was incredibly depressed. My mother got diagnosed with breast cancer, and I ended up gaining over 100 lbs. At this time, I didn’t notice too too much going on with my hair, due to the fact so many other things were going on, however, it was still manageable and I could put it up in a pony tail and it not look like I was balding. Even after I lost the weight. Most of it just came off in a yr/year and a half.
Started wearing extensions again for about 5 ish years.
Fast forward to 25, so 8 years later, was when it got EXTREMELY bad (to the point where I wore a topper)
I was in a toxic relationship for 2 years. About a yr in, I noticed my hairline receding majorly, and it CONSTANTLY being so greasy (due to it being so thin) no matter what i did, it was no longer manageable whatsoever. Even extensions didn’t look nice in it anymore because the top of my head looked so bad as well as the ends.
I went to a hair specialist (one of the best around here) he told me it definitely wasn’t female pattern hair loss, and he assumed I had a vitamin deficiency. I did not, I also got everything else possible checked. Thyroid, etc. multiple times. All clear. Only thing I have not got checked yet would be my hormones, which I think years of taking Adderall, plus a bad relationship may be the culprit for.
(If you search adderall and hair loss, tellogen effluvium seems to be pretty common since it can indirectly raise your cortisol levels, putting our body in a constant state of “fight or flight” mode.)
So at age 26 (almost 27) I stopped taking adderall, even though my doctor told me it was very rare, the internet says completely different.
I have an apt with an endocrinologist next Wednesday, so keeping my fingers crossed I’ll actually find an answer to what the underlying issue is, (since I honestly would like to possibly take adderall again since it helped me focus and get through like immensely, so hoping it might be something else)
If ANYONE out there that has been through something similar, was taking adderall for years, or lost major weight, or all. Please, please respond. I’ve spent so much time, money, and researching till my eyes bleed these past 2/12 years and would love to be able to relate to someone , and hopefully hear stories of peoples hair getting better .
Side note: I eat very clean, low carb, higher fat, lots of veggies (most days) nuts, coconut milk) etc.

What if like me, you have lost weight because of the stress. I used to exercise every second day before I had this issue of stress and TE, but now that I have the stress and TE, I've lost weight in my body and face. Won't exercising make me loose more weight, and not help me put the weight back on?

    • @LAURENNEWLY
      @LAURENNEWLY  6 лет назад +2

Hey Marie! this seems like something you will want to work on with your doctor. I used the exercise to help me get rid of the extra cortisol (stress hormone) in my body, i wasn't doing it for weight loss and I personally don't lose weight when i do low impact stuff like walking, jogging etc (read: my metabolism is the devil). So it sounds like you definitely have a little bit of a different situation going on. I would say the main thing is to be healthy and stress free - so whatever that looks like for you - there are so many other ways to decrease your stress if exercise doesn't seem right for you

I was so lethargic I didn't go out for the blood tests. And my hair started falling more. When I used to take biotin, my hair used to shed less. And then one fine day, even biotin stopped working. I then went back to the dermatologist but the first thing he said, "Miss would be dermatologist, you're here! You don't follow your doctor, now why you are here?" 😖
