For everyone who has hair shedding problem more than 8 months please do these all blood tests: Vitamin D, Zink, Iron, Feritin deficiency, Androgen, Testostron, Progesterone, Prolactin and Thyroid hormones. And do sonography to make sure you're not suffering from Pcos or Pcod; If all of these blood tests were OK, you still may need to do scalp biopsy to find out if it is Femail Pattern Hair loss or Chronic TE. And remember that if you have stress, your shedding would not stop even if you have no problem.

Your comment is on point and it’s most helpful 👍🏼 I lost a ton of hair for many years due to iron, vit D deficiency I didn’t know until I did a blood test. It took me almost two years to recover. I’m in my mid 40s and my hair is thinning again however I don’t have any deficiencies but I’m constantly stressed out so I’m sure it has to do with stress.

Maybe I am biased because I watched you and handled my TE the same way, but THANK YOU so much for sticking to your original game plan of happy & healthy. It’s so accurate and so hard to attain. But so freaking worth it. Eating the best you can, mindful activities, staying active, self-care, and reducing stress are the only ways to treat the core issue. Honestly, I just feel like life in general is the trigger! We ignore our health and well-being way too much while masking it with drugs. Minoxidil isn’t healthy and will likely only perpetuate the core issue. Organic and natural is always best. Simplicity is the goal it seems. I’m just glad that you are putting the best message out there 😊
Thanks for the update video, beautiful mama!

I’ve had three episodes, all with different degrees of severity. Also the regrowth thickness has been different on all occasions, the only thing that has been the same is the time it takes to fully grow back, the ends of my hair will feel fine for ages... I would say it takes at least a year. When TE is happening I seem to suffer with much more frizziness, and damage. And certainly have an achy, burning scalp. I personally found collagen helps. I’m sure biotin can help however i don’t take it regularly enough to see a difference. Also I’ve found brushing my scalp helps stimulate blood flow to my scalp and hair follicles which in turn helps with hair growth. I could talk about this topic for hours. I really love your videos. I hope you and your baba are doing well xx

I’m so thankful I found your videos almost immediately when my hair started falling out. Mine happened after having covid + pneumonia. I was really, really sick and about two-ish months after having it my hair was falling out like crazy: maybe 1,000 strands a day sometimes, like actual chunks.
I was lucky enough to have found your videos and a great dermatologist over telemed who totally agreed that it was 99% likely to be TE and it should start growing back. I never got to get bloodwork because I was stuck in the south where the virus was horrible, now I’m waiting for insurance, but in the mean time I listened to you saying to just Get Over It. I let it fall out, made sure to eat well (couldn’t eat for two weeks with covid), and washed my hair normally. I lost about 50 to 60% of my hair, started taking biotin for one month, and am still on prenatal vitamins. It’s been about two or three months but it’s already starting to grow back. I’m so lucky I found your channel!! I really, truly believe I didn’t lose my mind (and maybe even more hair) from watching your videos. So thank you and I’m happy to see you back!💜
Also, you look amazing!! Congrats on the little one coming🥰
Also, my scalp WAS itchy, tender, and burned a little sometimes. And def dandruff. I used Nizoral + Head and Shoulders sometimes and a moisturizing conditioner.
ANDDD (lol sorry, but just in case it helps others), I stayed away from using midoxinil (?) like you said, even though it was offered by multiple doctors, but I’m happy I didn’t.

MedusA A I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through a lot and on your second round of TE. I am the exact same as you. My hair is a huge part of my identity. It’s like that for a lot of women, and people, and why it sucks so much for it to fall out. I knew I just had to get over it because there was nothing I could do and I was already stressed. It was falling out from the major stress I had been through, and stress I was under dealing with all I’d been through. I don’t know about you, but sometimes, especially as I’ve gotten older, I get into these anxiety/stress periods that are NOT healthy. Like I can tell I am in fight or flight constantly and not handling situations well. I knew that was part of it, how I dealt with my stress, and I knew it was something I needed to start getting control over to get better.
Believe me. It’s been hard. My hair is still super thin. It’s only just started growing back a bit, and not all over. It’s like random strands here and there. I still feel self conscious going out. In fact, I pretty much don’t! I just know I need to remain calm, treat my body well, and that’s all I can do. I take prenatal vitamins everyday. I just do what I can. Hope you feel better soon💜

It’s so relieving to learn about your journey, Lauren. I’m most bothered by the fact that no single Dermatologist so far confirmed the relation between scalp itchiness and hair shedding during TE. In fact, they all have even disapproved it! However, it is good to know that so many people who have actually gone through this share their experience that others can also relate 😌

Congratulations, Lauren! You look absolutely beautiful, so exciting! I was SO happy to find your videos when I went through TE. My hair went from being the worst it ever was to the best it ever was when I got pregnant. I couldn't get over how I would brush it and basically nothing would come out! I did have crazy fall out again with PP hair loss, but it's not so stressful knowing that it's very normal. I still lose a lot more hair than I used to before I ever had before TE but honestly, I don't really give it a second thought anymore. TE taught me that I'm stronger than I give myself credit for, and the constant changes with my hair now are because my body did something incredible and literally grew and birthed a human. I wouldn't change it!

I am 16 and have had so much shedding for the last few months! I wish I had found this channel sooner... For ages I thought it was due to some sort of defficiency (probably iron) but now it seems so obvious that it's because of stress! (Any other GCSEs 2020 ppl can relate :')). While pregnant your hair fall, even normal hair fall, stops. I think the come away from all this is to try and not stress, take good care of your body the way God intended for us to. I have experienced TE many times throughout my life without knowing this was even going on. Now that I know about TE, unfortunately after getting Covid, I will work hard to just take care of myself and let things I can not change not affect me as I did before. TE will linger as long as you stress.

  • @puredapoison

actually I believed my hair started to fall out a few months ago but I could only noticed my hair became thin just in August. I straightly went to consult a dermatologist who said I had androgenic alopecia and prescribed me with 5% minoxidil. I only used the minoxidil for 2 weeks because it made my scalp really oily & uncomfortable with more dandruff. Since then hair shredding has been getting serious, I now lose more than 300 strands of hair each day. I panic and am in extreme anxiety... cannot sleep at all and browsed the internet for hair loss information non-stop during day time...
However, my gut feeling tells me that there is something else that caused my hair shredding, so I consulted another GP last week and on contrary to the first doctor, this GP was pretty sure that I am having TE and asked me to take a blood test just in case there was other underlying issue. He said he would not recommend the use of minoxidil. He said my hair would grow back.
I was skeptical at first on my hair will eventually grow back but I am so glad that I come across your channel. Your videos give me a better insight of what i've been through so far this year. I had a colonoscopy in March under general anaesthesia, later I was on diet, continuous feel very stressful during the pandemic and political instability in my hometown, on top of that, I was diagnosed with depression before and I know I get worried and anxious very easily. I am pretty sure this series of stressful events definitely trigger TE.
Although I am still trying the "get-over-it" phase and still panic 24 hours a day about my hair loss, deep down I believe I will become positive and patience day by day.
Thanks so much for sharing with us your valuable advice and experience, Lauren, Also, Congrats on your pregnancy! You look fabulous !

Thank you for making this! I am experiencing TE for the second time after having Covid. (The first time I had TE was at the beginning of 2020 after an extremely bad case of the flu. ) although this time something that happened to me as well is beau’s lines on my nails. At least I think that’s what they’re called. Basically it’s where the cycle of your mail growth gets interrupted. When I noticed that, I had a sinking feeling I may experience TE again and I was right :( however this time around since I know what I am dealing with and I truly believe my hair will stop shedding and go back to normal, I don’t feel nearly as upset even though it’s still quite distressing. Lauren, I understand it’s been quite a few years since you overcame your TE journey. I will be ,however, grateful of you if you could elaborate on your itching experience. My frustration comes from Derms being clueless while it appears to be a very common symptom during excess hair shedding. How sever was your itching? Did it at all interfere with your sleep or daily activities or was it rather intermittent? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

    • @LAURENNEWLY
      @LAURENNEWLY  4 года назад +3

I wouldn't say that my itching was so severe that it hindered sleep or daily activities. It was only slightly worse than regular dandruff or dry scalp itching. Hope this helps - best of luck!!

CK M Oh I see! It must have been folliculitis then. I think my condition is different. The Derms I saw diagnosed me with mild Seborrheic Dermatitis. However, since the itch feels dreadful, I’m inclined to believe that it’s just beyond mild! Lol
Also I never had considerable itchiness on the scalp until the shedding onset. So there might be a correlation there too.

I'm currently going through T.E myself. My dermatologist said that a white bulb at the end of the hair was part of T.E. I do have some regrowth but shedding is still present. It just takes time.
