- Can you stop being gay? A question that was asked by a panel on Jubilee (Middle Ground). You will recognize a guest, Brandon Robertson, who is more known for rejecting what scripture says than believing it. Obviously, you can expect what he had to say about this topic. I share my insights in what the Bible has to say, enjoy!

What is this hypocrisy? So you’re born this way buuuut gender is fluid? Somebody please explain this to me.
HERE SOME SCIENTIFIC FACTS ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY:
+ The WHO, World Health Organization, stated clearly, that homosexuality not a disease or disorder, but a healthy natural sexual orientation.
+ It is most likely innate (determined by SNP in several genes and by antibodies (NLGN4Y) during pregnancy), as the opposite sex is never sexual attractive to people born homosexual.
+ Evolution scientists stated in several publications, that homosexuality exists since sexuality exists, since 385 million years.
+ They also stated, that having homosexual members in the own tribe, gives several evolutionary advantages, which explains the permanent share of 4-10% homosexuals of the population.
>> So, the question would be rather: why putting an ethical limit on homosexuality if its natural, healthy and even with a natural sense?
>> Especially now as more and more homosexuals marry and adopt and raise kids that else wise would have no parents.
@@painfulaches You said very good :)
She said an orientation can’t be changed yet you can change your gender. They make it up as they go along.
lol exactly.
Gender & Orientation aren't the same thing. Are we gonna disregard the fact that one of the "Ex-gay" people mentioned gay earthquakes?
@Kdubtru No my friend: you can change your gender with an operation, but still you will only be a trans man or a trans woman not a real biologoical man or woman.
What you cant change is your sexual orientation.
A heterosexual man, that decides to become a monk , is also no "ex-heterosexual".
@@seekerhonest getting an operation doesn’t change your gender
@itsnatemate7697 are you going to ignore the fact that the ex gay person identifies himself as that. Then you go and put quotes around it, undermining the way that person identifies? Are you the arbitor of truth of how a person identifies themselves? You are actively misidentifying a person by using quotes around "ex gay" saying that YOU somehow know that person's identity and orientation better than they do themselves.
Hypocrisy much?
I love that you made it clear that God’s Word is the standard to go by, and not our senses, emotions, or feelings.

I was delivered from bisexuality.
Me too 👍🏼👍🏼
Rashad was the only Christian sticking to biblical principles and not emotions. God calls you out not to be a coward but be bold in the Lord (Proverbs 28:1)
He added his experience as well. He even put it on par with scripture. This is always a slippery slope.

Kdub I'm glad you mentioned at the end that one can still experience homosexual desires and still be a Christian if they are fighting against that unnatural desire.
I think there are is a conception with some that if God does not completely take away that desire that person cannot be a Christian. God can and does do that with some people though. The war with sin is a life long pursuit on this side of glory.
If homosexuality was 'unnatural' then natural selection would long ago have culled it from the gene pool...it hasn't because it does not conflict with or harm humanity because it is a minority of humanity. And anyway even if it was unnatural then so is walking on water or being raised from the dead so homosexuality could in that light be considered equallly miraculous.
Amen!
There’s no gay gene.
@@Kdubtru I'm not suggesting there's a single Gay gene anymore than there's a single heterosexual gene. The point I'm making is that whatever the contributing factor(s) in nature that creates homosexuality is no different to that of heterosexuality and further if homosexuality in any way was harmful to human life then evolution would long ago have cancelled whatever in the human gene pool was responsible. It may well be that genes only play a minor role in a human becoming homosexual and that other factors also exist, but that still doesn't alter the fact that evolution has permitted its continued existence.
As I wrote homosexuality is no less 'natural' than heterosexuality. Sexuality in humans is highly complex and science at this stage doesn't have all the answers. Religions calling humans who evolve to be homosexuals 'sinners' is as absurd as humans who evolve to have ginger hair also being called sinners.

You missed the point of me pointing out being a singer or a painter, someone's son, someone's brother. The point there isn't whether or not those things are sin. You didn't understand that I was directly responding to what Samuel just said. Clearly Samuel does not believes those things are sin either. I was responding to Samuel's claim that you can't be ANYTHING other than a child of God. I was pushing back that that isn't true. When your identity is in Christ, you can still be many other things. You can be still be multiple things at once. It wasn't a stupid argument just because you didn't understand it. Of course Samuel believes homosexuality is a sin, but that wasn't his argument until he switches it up after I ask a question that turns the argument on it's head about identity.
I got the point, I disagree with it. The comparison was apples and oranges.
Would be willing to discuss tho
Some people think that just because they no longer sleep with a person of same sex they just stop being gay. I am gay yet I am still a virgin. You resort to celibate is one thing, but you're still gay despite not having sex with some other person. Being gay is an identity. The act o homosexual sex is a different thing.
God can change your sinful desires as well. Repent. Your identity isn’t in who you are attracted to considering that it is sinful.
@@Kdubtru I wonder if some many closeted priests who became priests to hide who they are have ever heard God?
i mean im not catholic... but idc what religion you are, God doesnt condone homosexuality.
@@Kdubtru With these comments, Christians are a cult
@@Kdubtru How do you know the mind of God you little ant.
God doesn't have to prove himself to no man but I see what the guy is trying to say. Brandon is leading people to hell and will judge him for it. We are new creatures in Christ so God takes any desire away that doesn't honor him.
Well if we're new creatures in Christ, why are so many heterosexual bishops, pastors, ministers, evangelists still struggling with lust for women and many are carrying on this behavior at the big annual convocations in which they leave their spouses at home to engage in adulterous affairs where there are thousands in attendance so the affairs are quite furtive and away from prying eyes??? I'm told about the mess that goes on at these holy convocations.
@@Ma1nguy Because we still have a sin nature although we are new in Christ (Romans 7 and 8). If a person willfully and joyfully sins while claiming to be a Christian we confront them like we are told to in Matthew 18:15-17. Those who don’t practice church discipline are encouraging sin and not helping someone who may think they are a Christian but are deceived.
Hope that helps you understand that that type of lifestyle doesn’t necessarily mean Christians are being hypocrites, they could be deceived and not saved. Like David did in Psalm 51, they will have a godly repentance not live enjoying a lifestyle of sin.
I think you are wrong my friend:
If god is jeapous and wants to be worshipped and believed in he has to present himself in a way that people can know he exist.
This he doesnt do.
If god doesnt want to be worshipped (thats what I believe) then he doesnt have to prove himself.
The bible clearly teaches that we are a new creation in christ with new desires and while we will sin less christians will still never be perfect until a glorified body.
God can deliver you from anything. It is sin but we can be transfromed.
I just watched this in Middle Ground and found your analysis. Great break down. Thanks! It’s hard to believe how arrogant and terrible the theology is on the LGTBQ side.
Hmmm... homosexuality is a choice? God has power over everything else but has no power over homosexuality? Ok, how then can God be God? If that's the case, then there can be no sin. If there's no sin, then why will there be a judgment? God created Adam and Eve, so when God made man in his own image that was prior to the sin. Now, since sin is now present, thus, we are born into sin and shaped in iniquity. So, to say God created people this way is wrong. Ok, the Bible does not specifically state homosexuality is a sin, cool, where dies the Bible specifically states it's not a sin. If coming from a Biblical perspective, then have to have proof from a Biblical perspective.
The argument made by that guy who compared singing to being a homosexual made me cringe…do these people even study logic at all now a days?
Apparently not, a silly comparison
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 does not say "homosexual" in the original language.
And I am not drawing attention to myself unnecessarily. The question is literally about identity. There is no way to discuss this without mentioning yourself. I mean, How else are you supposed to talk about identity without referencing what you have OBSERVED (and that is the word) about yourself at some point. You are highlighting that part as though it is narcissistic and out of line when it is literally the topic "How does one know who they are? How do I know who I am?" You make observations, that's how.
Clearly, we read the Bible and we study it to understand how God operates and what life was like for the believers that come before us, absolutely, but to walk forward in this life, we have to acknowledge how God made us as individuals. We are not clones of those we read about in Scripture. God spent time knitting and designing each one of us INDIVIDUALLY in our mother's womb and OBSERVING that is an essential part of this conversation.
For those of us that are exclusively attracted to members of the same sex means we OBSERVE that God made us gay. Most of us realize this as children. We didn't give ourselves our own orientation. I think you are severely misunderstanding the Scriptures you are referencing or at least have a LOT left to learn about orientation and what the word "gay" actually means. It is not about behavior. It's about attraction, innate attractions that do not change.
Here is the video where I explain the origin of the English translation of the word "homosexual" translated from the Greek "Malokoi" and "Arsenokoitai"
ruclips.net/video/00Kp37xaJos/видео.html
Hey Gilbert! Glad you’re here, there’s no question arsenakoites is referring to homosexuality. The issue is Roman’s 1 presents the lust/desire as sinful. Also how could the act be sinful but not the desire for it?
@@Kdubtru Because you are equating homosexuality to lust. Homosexuality is not confined to only that or is even primarily defined as that. “Homosexual” means “same sex” (meaning same gender, not the act of sex) and it involves the totality of sexuality which primarily acknowledges the exclusive romantic attraction and love towards members of the same sex as well as the sexual desire. Romans 1 is about idolatry and lust (the act of sex, without love… ONLY sexual desire, in excess). It is NOT about romance and/or love between two men or two women, in committed relationships. That’s an important thing to differentiate. People that try and force a “gay” lens on Romans dismiss an understanding of the idolatry that Paul witnessed and was calling out amongst Roman pagans and Greeks (that clearly involved same sex behavior during their idolatrous practices) but it also lacks an understanding of what it actually means to be gay.
Also, I’d like to point to the fact that these men were most likely heterosexual because it says they left their women (their wives) and were inflamed with lust for one another…. I want to gently remind you that gay men don’t have women to abandon. When men are gay, and they understand themselves to be that way, they take responsibility for it and stay ethical by NEVER taking a women on as a romantic partner simply so that they can have external acceptance by their religious families and church communities. Why? Because that would be unfair to the women. I make this point also at the end of the Jubilee video.
I will say, thank you brother for being respectful here. I would love to continue dialogue with you if it can remain this calm and respectful. 🙏🏼❤️
I can tell you've been influenced by gay promoting scholars like Gushee. But this doesnt do service to the burned with lust for "one another" how is that not a monogamous relationship?
And im pretty chill and calm, I've had conversations on my channel with people who i disagree with numerous times to demonstrate i can keep my calm in "Heated exchanges" @@GilbertGTV
@@Kdubtru That would be a false assumption. I don’t even know who Gushee is. I have done the studying myself and it has always surprised me that people even get an “anti-gay” read out of these texts. To me, it is so clearly condemning the act externally because of how unloving and rebellious it is. As a gay person, there is NO rebellion in who I love and whom I want to build a godly relationship with. That is the problem. People that don’t understand these issues already see gay people as rebellious and therefore can’t open their minds to see that it has nothing to do with rebellion at all. It’s about walking through life with attractions that are exclusive to the same sex and knowing it was never a choice and it can not be changed. People that don’t understand that, will see Scriptures about rebellion, even using sex as rebellion, and will attribute that to being gay based off their own assumptions about gay people. It’s a circle. It’s like the man that went to the doctor because he thought he was dead. The doctor told him, “dead men don’t bleed.” The man agreed. The doctor then cut the man and when the blood came out, the man shouted, “Well what do you know? Dead men do bleed!”
See what I mean? If you already believe being gay is a sin, and gay people are making a rebellious decision, you are always going to ignore knowledge to the contrary because it challenges your world view and its foundational. The idea that God created gay people would REALLY mess with the foundation of what you have built your view of Him as. That is why I am somewhat sympathetic but not to the point of not being willing to have the hard conversations. You can always ask me anything.
And I don’t understand your question about monogamy. Of course burning with lust is not monogamy, especially if you are leaving your wives to go do that with other men. That’s why Romans 1 is not about being gay, because gay people can and do live monogamous lives and (as I have already stated) they don’t have wives to “abandon”.
@@GilbertGTV I believe being gay is a sin on the basis of scripture. Interesting rhetoric though, I don’t see any way to hold to a faithful reading of all of scripture and believe homosexuality is a good thing. Don’t see how that is the message you get.
But maybe we can schedule a recorded conversation if you’re up for it? You’ve been chill
I always like to point to to the fallen state of man and what God says about the creature. Not what I think, or I feel. Proverbs 14:12, and 16:25.
13:40 whewwww 🔥
I knew from the title of this video it was gonna be triggering for some in the comments. Spiritual warfare. God be with you all.
Brandon has flat out admitted he does not believe the Bible is the inherent word of God. I don't know how one can consider them a Christian if they disagree with the basics of the theology and especially the bible in itself. He can't be taken seriously as a pastor and it's sad that so many trust him.
Exactly
If the Bible is the word of God then you should be preaching to have the estimated 2 billion heterosexual adulterers in the world (including the present king and queen of England) be put to death...but Christianity and Islam seem only fixated on homosexuality because basically the simple truth is you're all hypocrites...and guess what? God knows you are.
A VALID QUESTION:
The biblical god Yahwe is supposed to have created the universe, the earth and the humans. We humans exist since 300k years and we have thousands of religious human testimonies from 100k - 6k years ago from hunting gods, fertility gods, venus gods, pantheons of hundreds of gods, etc but not a single testimony of a "one and only god" yahwe or Adam and Eve.
How come that this god, that is supposed to have created us at the beginning, is first mentioned only 3500-5000 years ago?
@@seekerhonest because despite what evolutionists say I believe the earth is only actually about 6000 years old.
@@conservativesavage1076 Thanks for your answer, but we cant ignore reality just to save the gospel.
They found the oldest homo sapiens skeleton in Morocco, dated on 300k years, with the Thermoluminescence method (precise on +-10%). They also found hundreds of homo sapiens skeletons all over North Africa dated on 250k years or 180k years, depending where they found them. So its a fact that we humans exist in our actual form since around 300k years.
Well correct is that archaeologists are very active lately: they are digging out for example a human settlement with a pagan temple dated on 12,000 years of age with a fertility cult room full of stone penises in Turkey. In south Europe they found cave paintings with shamanistic hunting gods scenes dated on 60,000 years of age, they found all over Europe artefacts of Venus gods dated on 40,000 years of age, and of course the oldest scripts of complete pantheons of gods 10,000-8,000 years of age.
Oldest homo sapiens skeleton found in Morocco is dated on 300k years.
We found millions of artifacts with many different religious believes and they are still finding a lot more now, in the next decades we will know much more.
But they do not find a single testimony of a one and only god Yahweh or Adam and Eve older than the bible (3500 years).
It’s getting even worst: the homo neanderthalensis is even older than us and was also religious (he put his dead people in graves together with grave goods for afterlife). Is homo neanderthalensis also considered by god? How about homo heidelbergensis? Or homo erectus?
Did god create Adam and Eve as homo heidelnergensis in his image and then we humans evolved to homo sapiens and now we have a more advanced image than god?
I love how the brother said he didn’t want to have his identity in anything other than being a child of God. In regards to the reply about being a painter or anything else.. the Bible tells us that all we do should honor God. You can honor God as a painter. There is no way to scripturally honor God practicing an LBGTQ lifestyle. That’s like honoring God with gluttony. It’s an oxymoron.
He said gay is something you can’t change because he is promoting a genetic scientific basis from being gay so that it can be justified as unchanging. Since you could go from being a pervert to being abstinent it means you don’t have to have an identity around sexuality. Rashad brought sobriety to this conversation.
“But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his transgressions that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.”
Ezekiel 18:21-22 ASV
If you want to expand on this and talk with someone who is an ex, let me know.
Are you an ex?
Brandon Robertson is as lost if not more than anyone who has never heard the name of Jesus or even read a Bible before. He’s the very definition of what a false “prophet” would look like and sound like. But just like anyone else he WILL bow to Jesus Christ and confess that Jesus is Lord to the Glory of God the Father, and then judgement will come.
I agree that God really does love the entire world and all sinners. John 3:16. Scriptures that say God hates certain people are metaphoric. Otherwise John 3:16 is a contradiction and we who believe in scripture inerrancy does not believe the Bible contradicts itself.
I don’t believe John 3:16 is saying every single person, it limits to those who believe but nevertheless, how do you reconcile this with psalm 5:5 that God hates certain people?

As a same gender loving man myself who loves the Lord and is committed to serving Him, I still haven't awaken in the morning as a lusting heterosexual and I'm an old man now in his 70s. I still believe that marriage is one man and one woman. I'm not judging anyone else but it's not for me. You can love someone deeply without being sexual. Heterosexuals get on my nerves, until they've walked in our shoes they spout off scriptures, theories, and all the reasons why we ended up being gay. GAY IS NOT A CHOICE LIKE HETEROSEXUAL ISN'T A CHOICE, these are the cards we're dealt. I've lived celibate a number of years, my choice after I experienced the sexual side of homosexuality, it always left me feeling used and empty and I couldn't reconcile it with scripture. It's not okay for a man to engage in oral sex nor anal sex with another man, this is my own personal convictions, so I chose to abstain but I still love men. You can't change your sexual orientation unless you suppress it and marry the opposite sex or just like me stay celibate. I've yet to see a gay man change into a lusting heterosexual or womanizer.

Ok. So I struggle with SSA myself, and I hear what your'e sayin'. However, when you say you're a "same gender loving man", what does that mean? I can assume, but you know what they say about assuming! LOL.. So you don't act on your feelings based on Biblical conviction. Good! But, if I still have emotional feelings, sexual desire/feelings for someone of the same sex, that's still sinful! It's not just our actions that can be sinful, so can our desires. Sexual or otherwise. If I "desire" to kill somebody, that's sin. Even if I never carry it out. See what I'm sayin'? I can relate to you bro' in your struggle/desire for sexual intimacy with the same sex. And yeah, you're right. That desire is not chosen! Amen. But that doesn't change the fact that the desire isn't still sinful. And if people expect, or if someone with SSA expects to wake up one morning and have "lustful" sexual desire for the opposite sex, they're fooling themselves! LOL..Can GOD totally change someones desire for the same sex to sexual desire for the opposite sex? Absolutely! I've heard many testimonies to the fact! GOD is GOD! HE can do anything! He may not choose to do that for everybody obviously. But HE does do it for many! Whether people believe that or not! Anyway, just wanted to try and understand your position concerning "same gender lovin'" man. Appreciate your honesty bro'. GOD bless.
