Blossom: Can you cite statistics to back that up? Amala: No Blossom: Then you’re wrong. Amala: Can you cite statistics to back up your position? Blossom: Statistics don’t matter.
I think she asked for statistics because Amala said she believed in science (probably quantitative research) and kept mentioning studies without actually stating how significant the results of those were. Blossom, however, is not basing her arguments solely on quantitative research but also on personal experience and I think she probably values a qualitative point of view more. My point is, if you prefer or only believe in quantitative research then you should be able to back up your claims with the actual statistics. But if you lean more towards qualitative research, statistics are not as relevant.
The way Blossom asked for statistics from Amala and than immediately said it isn’t about statistics as soon as she was asked for her own is genuinely hilarious.

The irony of that is how they were calling themselves “biological women” the whole time, which literally means cis-woman. I feel like they were on the same page in some aspects, but the language barrier made it seem otherwise.
@Little Poodle , because we have been forced to have to make that distinction which is ridiculous. These are men who choose to look and live as women and who swear that they are women. SO women are forced to have to say "biological women", to make a distinction. when we shouldn't have to.

I got annoyed by the bathroom question: as I understood it, the conservative woman was not saying that TRANS people in the female bathroom was ever the problem for her. The problem was men FAKING being trans females to get in. She wasn't blaming trans ppl, she was explaining a by-product that could happen.
I don’t care for the bathroom scenario because people who are bent on committing crimes or taking advantage of people will find a way to do so. By this idea, there will always be a “byproduct” of all situations. Volunteering is an example. A byproduct of allowing volunteers at a school could be approval of people who may want to harm or abuse children. This byproduct argument isn’t a strong one. I’d just rather a woman say that it makes them uncomfortable to share a bathroom with a transgendered woman.
But it was clearly stated that this issue can happen without restrooms being for trans people. It happens either way. Aliyah may not have the “sophistication” of the bi racial girl but it doesn’t make her point less valid. She also explained that she wanted to end that point as it is easy thing cis gender people like to say when that’s not the case.

@optimND They find it degrading. Why slap an unappealing label on us, the OGs, because some posers with political power come around and try to infect our cultures and natural identities, is what I'd imagine most women feel. Also woman means female human, so the cis part is unnecessary.
I honestly think that Trans like Gina and Women like Amala are those sections of their respective demographic that can help bridge the divide. You cannot expect both sides, to fully jump to the extreme side
The fact Blossom is questioning whether predatory men will take advantage of women’s spaces… is already saying a lot. I don’t have to explain my women friends what’s like being a woman, how you have to be afraid and hyper vigilant all the time because if you can’t prevent something from happening to you, it will be your fault (if you survive it anyway). The mutual understanding happens seamlessly, there’s no question. But when I’ve tried to explain to men, whether family or friends, they call me crazy for being afraid, for wanting to prevent any potentially dangerous situation with males from happening, and Blossom is questioning women the same way *There are men who do understand women, or at least don’t invalidate their experiences and fear towards men, but Blossom is acting the same way men who don’t understand act
Like Gina said. Men can take advantages of women's spaces without the presence of trans women. Blossom was talking about trans women, even though she was being asked about cis-men dressing up as women.
I personally think these predatory men are going to take it advantage , whatever there is a chance. They wait to see when someone has vulnerable and they take advantage of that. Being trans doesn’t give you a free pass for being a creep.
Blossom is the perfect example of why there will never be major progression with this topic. Blossom is incapable of understanding the difference between facts and reality vs. feelings.
Also assuming that everyone is obsessed with genitals, as well as incorrectly correcting people... "the term you mean is cis woman" when in fact the point was that biological females are capable of giving birth. That includes females who transition into men. No uterus, which only biological females have, regardless of how they identify, means there is no way to give birth.
I agree and I believe that whatever gender Blossom would have identified as she would have been just as difficult to have a productive conservation with because of her "holier than thou" attitude.
@@vikkidonn I haven’t heard of Amala’s work before but I’m interested in checking it out and learning more about her positions. I will say personally, she gave me a slightly bad first impression by the way she went about discourse. Specifically during the statistics conversation about women’s sports. On one hand she claimed statistics were not relevant when discussing how trans women unfairly outperform against cis-women, but then later said there’s “overwhelming” evidence that this is the case so I was confused how she was trying to defend her position. And when they talked about gender dysphoria, I was a bit concerned about how she kept pushing the idea of “blind affirmation” which sounded like there should be no conversations with people at all when they feel at odds with their biological state? I could be misunderstanding what she meant though.
@@suds-p In reference to what you said about that statistics, I think she was referring to evidence but couldn’t actually reference the exact statistic when Blossom asked for the statistic on it. I think she then went further asking Blossom to give stats to illustrate how it’s a double standard.

Blossom: "Woman hood to me is about standing with integrity, it is about being confident in who you are"... How is this a different feeling than what men have. If this is the definition of what a woman is then does this mean I'm a woman? I'm confident in who I am and I stand with integrity. I guess a lot of men I know would be considered women by Blossoms definition.
Keep in mind. Getting the definition of a gender from a person with gender dysphoria is like asking for directions from a person that just got off the spinning ride at the carnival. I wouldn't rely on it too much for accuracy.

*There are men who do understand women, or at least don’t invalidate their experiences and fear towards men, but Blossom is acting the same way men who don’t understand act
Like Gina said. Men can take advantages of women's spaces without the presence of trans women. Blossom was talking about trans women, even though she was being asked about cis-men dressing up as women.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who caught that. Blossom was being hypocritical several times. Everytime is accused someone of “dodging” she herself was dodging
also love how she thinks the transracial argument isn't the exact same when it is. any reason against transracial is the same for transgender. but that makes too much sense so she just dismissed it
I love the way Amala gets her point across with facts and not needing to be loud or using snarky remarks.
Love her point of view!!!❤❤❤❤
She was more poignant in her responses but she's got her problems.
I love the way Amala asks loaded questions (which is a manipulation tactic) like "Do you believe your comfort is more important than the cis women who will be victimized by [allowing trans women to use women's restrooms]?", so that she can make another woman seem more argumentative than she otherwise would.
@@brinnthehumanWhat is a better way of asking difficult but important questions like that?
If I remotely agreed with her on anything, I would like Amala. Unfortunately she represents the side of the aisle that makes my skin crawl so I have trouble tolerating her. She wasn't nearly as insufferable as Aliya though.
Blossom: "if you can't throw out the statistics, we're not doing enough of the work"

I love Gina and Amala. They’re both very wise, and although they disagree, they’re still respectful towards each other.
They were so respectful in the discussion.
and then there’s blossom.
I feel like they both came to the convo with an open mind but stayed true to their beliefs through the process. It was refreshing in this world. I feel like people have a hard time, making up their minds when it comes to certain things because society is telling them how they should feel.

“It takes integrity, it takes courage, it takes lifting women up…” you can literally define men this way as well.
Just goes to show the issue is rooted in mental health issues or gender roles.
True
yes of course men can be defined that way but women are oppressed in different more damaging and violent ways than men and with women's movements empowerment is important and women need it more than men its equity for the suffering women have endured
You mention violence, which I get women are at a physical disadvantage. However, violence is overwhelmingly men against men.

When Gina was finally given an opening to actually talk rather than just Amala vs Blossom, I feel this is where middle ground, reason came in. Both sides have such strong opinions that it was just a massive clash, whereas Gina was needed to show both sides what the other needed to understand but maybe couldn’t because they just saw someone opposing their own values. Blossom strikes me as someone who is still working through her trauma so she is hyper-vigilant and aggressive through this conversation. Gina strikes me as someone who has experienced trauma but has done a lot of therapy/emotional work through it and can speak on her past without getting emotional currently.
Blossom: What is the statistics in that?
Also blossom: We don't need statistics, we just need feelings.
I was literally so shocked by that 😂
sounds like youre actually quoting what amala said DIRECTLY before what blossom said lmfao
@@nerd5 This also happened in a convo she had with Buck (transitioned male) in another video. He had info and receipts for the issues that were discussed, and Blossom still wouldn't accept it.
@@tigerl21 then i suppose that's blossom's issue, but in the context of this video, amala did the exact same thing, so it doesn't make sense to hold her to that standard
@@nerd5 I think you need to rewatch that part. Amala did not have the statistics prepared with her for the debate but appealed to common sense between the bone densities of male and female athletes and how they are different. Hormone replacement therapy can never rid a biological male of his advantages over female athletes who aren’t on drugs. If Amala had the statistics present she would have presented them.
Blossom said the statistics were necessary then turned around and said statistics aren’t valid, but instead EXPERIENCE is needed. However Blossom disregarded Gina’s experience as a large, strong male in junior high.
Blossom also tried to insinuate she wasn’t physically stronger than Amala which is LAUGHABLE 😂
Amala sharing absolute factual information throughout this entire segment is so refreshing

Amala is a highly educated woman, and it makes me sad when fairly uneducated people try to discredit her and what she is trying to say. If you look into her and her socials, you will understand just how incredibly educated she is and how she does not just spat out her own opinions, she only speaks actual factual information. It is so refreshing, as you said, to see someone who isn’t just saying whatever they think can prove what they believe in, and just actually know what is factual, and can back that up. We don’t see that very often nowadays. :)
Can we talk about how sweet Gina is!!! I see the respect she is showing for the conversation.
Yessss, gina is great, she actually cares about kids and their innocence, she looks like she'd be a sweet grandma
Not to mention the respect she was SHOWN. Amala referred to her by her pronouns. Blossom, on the other hand, kept ringing the "cis" bell while asking ppl to respect pronouns & got none in return. Just wanted to be contrary, smh..
I love the calm and respectful conversations between Gina and Amala. Blossom could never.
This conversation was both infuriating and nice to watch all at the same time lol It’s clear who was willing to have a conversation and who just wanted to say the same talking points. We need more of these conversations, so this is a start.

Exactly!
Unfortunately, Blossom's still "infected" by the patriarchal ideologies. It's sad.
well sir it's 2023 why the heck not 🤣 do it for fun like everyone else ( i'm just kidding please be safe)
Keep in mind. Getting the definition of a gender from a person with gender dysphoria is like asking for directions from a person that just got off the spinning ride at the carnival. I wouldn't rely on it too much for accuracy.
I commented about working in jail/prisons and believe me I didn't see very many women with integrity.😂
Speaking for those of us who listen to the video while driving, doing chores, etc… Jubilee, PLEASE have a narrator say the questions out loud and make them more audible! When Blossom asked about what is womanhood, I think her definition, “standing in integrity and it is about being confident in who you are” also can be applied to manhood.

Jubliee has played a great part in America by starting these important conversations bringing together both sides.
Gina was way more nice and rational than I thought at first glance. The way she spoke sounded like she actually wanted to reason and have a conversation respectfully. I'm glad they had her on.
Im reminded of another jubilee video where they had Buck Angel on, and I was drawn to him in a very similar way; he had a very similar composure that invites you to understand. I suspect that this is likely something of a trend of the older queer generation(s) who had to navigate their way through a much more hostile space in their time compared to those in the lgbt community now.
I just have to say how much I appreciate Gina and Amala in this conversation. I'm not Trans or part of the LGBTQ community, but the way they are both able to voice their opinions and be so open and respectful to each side is truly admirable.

@AshDiAngelo why did you cry when you heard about lgbt?
@nufailanoon because I felt like I was broken because I liked girls and I went to a Catholic school
@AshDiAngelo omg I'm so sorry you felt that way. I personally romantically loved girls starting from age 8. But I never questioned that, to me it was simply love. I never thought "i should love boys only".
